KingChris Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011
To the esteemed state of Great Britain, Greetings to you all. As we are a newly formed nation, our government has chosen to seek relations with your nation. As we share the English Channel, we believe that it would be to the benefit of both of our nations to develop friendly relations. Therefore, I invite you to the Kingdom of Corona in hopes that a growing friendship between our two countries may commence. Yours, Fred H. Langhammer Minister of Foreign Affairs
Quote
Zoot Zoot Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011
TO: Fred H. Langhammer Minister of Foreign Affairs FROM: Jack Straw, Senator of the Foreign Office Thank you for the invite to your Kingdom, Great Britain would be delighted to enter talks with you.
When the message had been sent, Jack climbed aboard a gulfstream jet along with his Inquisitor bodyguard and flew across the channel to the Kingdom of Corona. On landing he made his way to the meeting with his bodyguard and introduced himself to the French delegations. Quote
KingChris Posted January 29, 2011 Author Report Posted January 29, 2011 Langhammer had been awaiting Straw's arrival at the Palace of St. Gabriel, the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. "Mr. Straw, welcome to the Kingdom of Corona. I hope your journey was comfortable. Now, as I stated in my message to your government, due to our very close proximity, as well as the fact that we now share the English Channel, I believe it is integral to the safety of both of our nations to establish friendly relations. With this in mind, Corona would like to begin a pact advocating free trade, as well as some sort of defense agreement. I am personally looking at an ODP or an MDP. What do you think, sir?" Quote
Zoot Zoot Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 Jack frowned at the mans forwardness before responding. "Mr Langhammer, a military agreement is not something Great Britain can just enter with a new Nation, MDP, ODP. Both are to big a step to take right off the mark. It would be more sensible to establish a friendly link and a mutual interest through trade first. We are linked economicly with Nations worldwide, our trading links on the continant span from Spain to Greece, to the Slavorussian Urals. Worldwide we have ties to North America, India, Africa and the Oceanic region. However, all of our trading partners have something we want, and vise versa. What can the Kingdom of Corona offer Great Britain?" Quote
KingChris Posted February 4, 2011 Author Report Posted February 4, 2011 "Well Mr. Straw, I can accept that reasoning. But perhaps, in the spirit of amity, your nation would be willing to sign a Peace and Aid treaty? As to our economic proposal, we do not specialize in raw materials. Rather, we have a very large banking industry and investment market. Economicists suggest that it would be to the benefit of most countries to involve themselves economically with countries carrying such strong industries in these areas." Quote
Zoot Zoot Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 "perhaps when our nations share a closer relationship. But until then I believe an economic treaty would suffice. With London little more than a ruin, banking and investment would obviously go a long way in British markets." Quote
KingChris Posted February 12, 2011 Author Report Posted February 12, 2011 OOC: My apologies for the lateness. The CN War and a virus I've been fighting has kept me occupied lately. "Very well. If that is the case, does Great Britain have a Free Trade Agreement draft prepared, or shall I produce one?" Quote
Zoot Zoot Posted February 12, 2011 Report Posted February 12, 2011 "As the initiator of this meeting I believe you should produce the document." Quote
