Over the last several weeks, the National Assembly had been kept in secure locations according to their constituancies, unable to leave due to the reason of their summons. The Senate, also brought together, but at the Mancunian Senate Houses in the north of England had been denied outside contact. Both treated to the same service of a five star hotel, but secrecy was of utmost importance. Video conferences had taken place weekly, aswell as dozens of votes to pass the referendum that would shape the future of England by looking into its glorious past. Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into over a month before it was decided that England was to change its name, and its flag to that of the former glorous Great Britain. A direct video link to the BBC would broadcast the announcment to every television in the country, the BBC world service would make it available to every television in the world who just happened to be on the channel. Letters were sent out two days before the announcement with the Royal Mail, their couriers commanded not to allow the letters to be opened until the time of the announcement on the air. The letters sent out would only be sent to Great Britains allys and those Britain held a vested interest in. Athens, Germany, Norway, Slavorussia, Espana, Venice, GNED, the United States of the Island and of course the Kingdom of Ireland. All letters would be hand delivered to the highest authority that would take the letter, each one hand written and addressed to the respective leaders notifying them of the change. Finally the time had come, the producer did the three second countdown behind the camera to the three Triumvirs who were seated side by side behind a long oak table, two Union Flag standards behind them, meeting at the points of the staff. The red light turned on, they were on air. "Greetings England, I speak to you now to make an announcment that will change the face of England forever. But before I do, I must say this. The Kingdom of Ireland, regard us with cold eyes, passion flows through their veins to see us flounder in the waves that surround our islands, but we will not flouder. The Irish, Scottish and the Welsh are all under the umbrella of the British Isles, and for too long have been un-unified, segregated by war and bad blood between leaders and communities. England will no longer be part of this segregation, we will no longer label ourselves as England on the world stage, for we are British. We are the English country, but our country is part of Britain. By the power vested in me under the authority of the National Assembly and the Senate, who have exercised the constituional rights of the English people, I declare that Great Britain is the successor state to England." To which the screen would cut to the thousands of people on the streets around the country celebrating, a live feed into the Senate Houses of Manchester was played before cutting to the grand military parade taking place in Liverpool. The sounds of millions singing rule Britannia filtered into the feeds, heard in every street of Great Britain. AironthFlamewing Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 The United Kingdom of Idaho-Montana congratulates the English people on the new state of Great Britain. Quote
Sarah Tintagyl Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 "While Venice congratulates this change in English politics becoming part of the Greater British Community, one must ask, Britain dominated the Isles from times past. Especially Scotland, Wales, and Ireland, to speak of a state that is larger than the English State seems more of a promise of expansion and aggressive nature than joining a community already dominated by the Irish. While I do hope that England's intentions are peace with Ireland, what caused this kind of change and how does Great Britain expect this change to continue throughout the world? I will not lie, I foresee only strained relations with your neighbors because of this. Nevertheless Venice wishes you luck with the birth of Great Britain and hopes that prosperity, not destruction will last eternity in England and the British Isles." -Doge Tommaso Barezi Quote
Zoot Zoot Posted January 13, 2011 Author Report Posted January 13, 2011 (edited) Great Britain will make it clear, we have no intention of aggressive expansion against the Kingdom of Ireland. Whilst relations between our two Nations may be cold, possibly non existant completly, they are our family under God, and our family on the British Isles. It benefits Great Britain absolutely nothing to antagonise the Kingdom. We seek only to improove relations as and when we can. Edited January 13, 2011 by Zoot Zoot Quote
PresidentDavid Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 The United States of The Island congratulates Great Britain. We are very happy for you and this new step for the British Isles. However, not to be blunt or rude, but the United States would like to be assured that nothing aggressive is planed against the United States? Quote
Zoot Zoot Posted January 14, 2011 Author Report Posted January 14, 2011 You have our assurances the United States shall suffer no harm from British arms. However. If we did have malicious intent would wouldn't be telling you. Rest assured, whilst not treaty obliged, Britain would benefit more by defending the US, than attacking it. Quote
Yawoo Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 Changing one's name from that of their rightful territory to a name associated with colonialism, slavery, and oppression does not endear the English people to the Kingdom of Ireland. This is not the nineteenth century, while the Welsh, Irish and Scottish people all have a unique history they are united under the banner of the Kingdom of Ireland, and are quite happy to be that way. These isles may be referred to geographically as the British Isles, but make no mistake - the majority of the land now ascribes its political beliefs to that of the Kingdom and not a nation of yesteryear. The time of the Kingdom of Great Britian is long past and should stay buried in history. Dragging up a name of an empire that slaughtered, enslaved and pillaged across the globe is a slap in the face to all the people who fought for their freedom and liberty. For the Kingdom of Ireland, the name change will not be recognized on official cartography elements and "England" shall remain the official name of the English people's nation. Should the English people wish for relations with the Kingdom of Ireland then it will be a long and bumpy road ahead. The sins of the English against the Irish, Welsh and Scottish peoples are long indeed, but those can be forgiven as sins of a dead empire. The sins of the English against the Kingdom however can not be so easily brushed aside. It would go a long way towards suppressing the flames of hatred if the English government would apologize for its aggressive action during the J. Andrean POW war. The British Isles' security is indeed a chief concern for the Irish, Welsh and Scottish people, but the question lingers if the Kingdom of Ireland truly needs the English people to ensure peace and tranquility in this part of the world. Zoot Zoot Posted January 15, 2011 Author Report Posted January 15, 2011 Then so be it. Great Britain can and will apologise for the actions of a Government long gone. A Government who ignored the warnings, protests and campgians against their decision to go to war. It was their negligence which brough down the suffering both our Nations felt and in some cases, still feel. The Triumvirate was elected to replace the old Government and we now hold the power to make a difference, to begin closing the wounds of the past. Great Britain sends its apologies to the Kingdom of Ireland on behalf of our diposed Government. They were wrong to act as they did and were removed from Government at the wars end for that reason. We are sorry. In a further effort to show our sincerity, all restrictions against the Kingdom of Ireland placed at the peacetalks by the previous Government are now hereby lifted. This message burns our pride, but it is a fool who cannot swallow his pride and do what must be done for the greater good. Repairing the relations with the Kingdom of Ireland is the greater good. PresidentDavid Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 *Private To Great Britain* We are most sure that you have no aggressive attentions against the United States, because we are sure you are not that foolish. The Kingdom of Ireland is one of the United States's closest allies and is our closest ally culturally. From what you have said it sounds like you have no agressive actions towards them or the United States itself so that is very good news. It would be a-shame for history to repeat itself. One of the United States's top priorities is to ensure the stability, security, and defense of the British Isles. As you know, we are small and might have a problem with doing that by ourselves but I can assure you we would try. Thank God this new government seems to want to change the way it previously existed. If you keep to your word, then maybe one day the British Isles could all be allies. -Secretary of Defense Jerry Shaw Quote

Your crews for the record are being released on a daily basis, where they go from being ejected from Britian is not our problem. Quote
