JEDCJT Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 (edited) VERDADE SOCIALISTA FORMED Revolutio - In a session of the Central Committee, the Revolutionary Workers' Party voted to approve the establishment of a leading newspaper in the Revolutionary Federation of Socialist Republics. As such, Verdade Socialista ("Socialist Truth") had been formed, with its headquarters in Revolutio. Chaired by Ramon Villista, Verdade Socialista, henceforth shortened to 'Verdade', is starting to take off, being provided with fundings from the People's Government. According to Villista, the main purpose of Verdade is basically the same as newspapers in other countries: to provide news pertaining to events inside and outside the R.F.S.R. to the working people. It strives to provide leisure and entertainment to its audiences, "whenever they are taking a break in the middle of their glorious workday or whenever they are relaxing in front of a fireplace at home", as Gene Moralos, new editor, commented. Publications of Verdade have begun in several cities, namely Calgary, Saskatoon, Regina, and Juneau. Branches of the newspaper is being set up in smaller cities, towns, and villages across the R.F.S.R. It is expected to become a great success over time. JEDCJT Posted January 11, 2011 Author Report Posted January 11, 2011 (edited) CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION CONCLUDED, BASIC LAW SUBMITTED TO REPUBLICS FOR RATIFICATION Revolutio - A special convention held in Revolutio concluded today, with many of the delegates approving what was called the "Basic Law for the Government of the Revolutionary Federation of Socialist Republics." The Basic Law, which will serve as a constitution for the Revolutionary Federation, not only organizes the official government, but upholds and guarantees rights and liberties of workers in the country. It is being hailed by the Revolutionary Workers' Party as a "monumental achievement of the Socialist world", one that had been considered as a milestone in the ongoing struggle for equality and justice. It is of the wide opinion of the working people that the Basic Law had further solidifed the legitimacy of the new Revolutionary Federation: "First a Party, then an Army, now a Basic Law!" The Socialist struggle for equality and rights does not end with the Basic Law; rather, it is intensified with the advent of Socialist justice. Under the Basic Law, the working people shall have the role in government, of their own, that they had been denied by many nations for centuries. "Life had become freer, happier, and joyful!", Joseph Salin of the Central Committee was reported to be saying to the press. "All glory to the Socialist homeland!" The Basic Law had been submitted to the Socialist Republics for ratification. If three-fifths of the Republics is in favor, the Basic Law shall officially come into effect. JEDCJT Posted January 12, 2011 Author Report Posted January 12, 2011 FINAL FLAG OF THE R.F.S.R. UNHURLED Revolutio - The Central Committee voted upon the final choice of the Flag of the Revolutionary Federation of Socialist Republics, after considering several proposals submitted by several workers' councils and even local Communes. The new Flag shall henceforth be: The color shade of darker red represents the blood that had been spilled by the courageous workers who had valiantly fought against the greedy capitalists in order to pave the way for Socialism. In the canton of the flag, the twin sickles formed around a red star represents not only the farmers (which is on the same category as workers) who had fought in the Red Guards and Red Army, but also the efficiency of the new dictatorship of the proletariat in its quest to achieve complete Socialism. In turn, the red star represents the five fingers of the workers' hand (it can also symbolize the five classes in the new socialist society that are led by the Revolutionary Workers' Party: workers, farmers, intellectuals, soldiers, and youth). Lastly, the circuit board patterns depicted within the red star represents the link between the past, the present, and the future; it also symbolizes the Party's commitment to modernism as a means of bringing Socialism to the downtrodden masses. Premier Helo Silveira hailed the new flag as the beginning of a new dawn, that is, the dawn of Socialism. Under the banner of the flag, the Revolutionary Workers' Party and the Revolutionary Federation of Socialist Republics will lead the workers through the struggle to attain Socialism, a world where everyone will be equal, everyone will produce according to his/her needs, and where everyone will be joyful and live in harmony! The new flag shall be flown above the cities and towns across the R.F.S.R., starting immediately. Quote
JEDCJT Posted January 13, 2011 Author Report Posted January 13, 2011 ALTA VANCAVITEAN SR RATIFIES BASIC LAW, COUNTRY TO GET NEW NAME ONCE AGAIN Nanaimo – The Alta Vancavitean Socialist Republic became the second Republic to ratify the Basic Law, when the Alta Vancavitean Commune voted 14 to 6 in support for the Basic Law. This brings the ratification vote nearer to the three-fifths threshold required to bring the Basic Law into effect; only one more from any of the other SRs is required. On a related note, the Central Committee approved a special resolution that would come into effect concurrently with the Basic Law. In accordance to Premier Helo Silveira’s instructions, and with the full agreement of all the members involved, the name of the country would be officially changed, once again, to appropriately reflect the new revolutionary order. When Silveira proclaimed the formation of the Revolutionary Federation of Socialist Republics, he did so to reflect the workers’ revolutionary mood and to propel them into action. It was a success, and the Kingdom of Ursalia was overthrown, the nuclear attack on Vancouver withstanding. It was a part of the Revolutionary Workers’ Party to further consolidate the new dictatorship of the proletariat, and to cement its role in the world community of nations. It would not only enhance the legitimacy the R.F.S.R. claimed over its people and the lands once controlled by the Kingdom of Ursalia, but also it would illustrate the state’s commitment to workers’ struggle. Through such, delegates from all five SRs within the R.F.S.R. were to attend a special meeting held in Revolutio. Quote
JEDCJT Posted January 13, 2011 Author Report Posted January 13, 2011 REVOLUTIONARY DEFENSE FORCES FORMED Revolutio - In a special televised press conference held in Revolutio, of which was broadcast by the Verdade Socialista news corporation as well as other affiliated media companies, People’s Secretary for Defense Gerard Sinclair proclaimed the official formation of the Revolutionary Defense Forces (RDF). He went on to state that the purposes and goals of the RDF is to “defend and safeguard the Revolution and its achievements, rights, and liberties.” The RDF will comprise of three branches: the Red Army (officially renamed from the Revolutionary Workers’ Army), the Red Navy, and the Red Air Force; the former Ursalian Strategic Force will be disbanded and its assets (including but not limited to nuclear weapons) distributed among the three branches. In turn, operational control of the nuclear weapons will fall under the Supreme Commander of the RDF and associated offices, with the ultimate power and authority resting with the People’s Secretary for Defense and the Central Committee. Furthermore, Sinclair went on to say that Julius Franco, who had served as Supreme Commander of the Red Army during the Revolution and civil war, had been appointed Supreme Commander of the overall RDF. Separate appointments for the Red Army, Navy, and Air Force are currently in progress. Lastly, though the exact numbers of the RDF had not been disclosed as of yet, Sinclair did confirm that it “consists of hundreds of thousands of soldiers carried over from the defunct Royal Ursalian Army”, along with “many former RUA commanders and generals”; the RDF has control over most, if not all, aircrafts of the Royal Ursalian Air Force and equally as many ship vessels of the Royal Ursalian Navy. The People’s Secretary for Defense stated that many military bases and installations across the R.F.S.R. are being “rebuilt, renovated, and otherwise prepared for eventual use.” Quote
JEDCJT Posted January 14, 2011 Author Report Posted January 14, 2011 (edited) COLUMBINAN SR RATIFIES BASIC LAW, BASIC LAW OFFICIALLY GOES INTO EFFECT Nadrink - In a monumental decision, the Columbinan Commune voted 171-63 to ratify the Basic Law, attaining the three-fourths threshold. As such, the Basic Law immediately came into effect, and the government of the R.F.S.R. would be reorganized along the details laid out in the Constitutional convention. In the capital, the All-Union Revolutionary Workers' Commune was converted into the All-Union People's Assembly and subdivided into the Congress of People's Deputies and the Council of the Federation (the word, 'Federation', would be subsequently changed to 'Union'). At the same time, the mechanism of the Supreme People's Court was implemented in place when the Central Committee passed a decree issuing a "call of arms" for qualified judges steeped in legal tradition. Elections to fill the ranks of the Congress and the Council would be held across the country. As stated in the convention, half of People's Deputies would be elected from constituencies apportioned to the individual SRs according to population. The other half would be elected from party lists, and the SRs would have the power to select half of the Council's membership for candidacy. On a related note, as per the special resolution passed by the Central Committee, all Party deputies and supporters would be required to attend a special meeting in the capital in order to debate and determine the country's official name. JEDCJT Posted January 18, 2011 Author Report Posted January 18, 2011 MAIN COMMAND ADMINISTRATION ESTABLISHED Revolutio - To provide for a way to coordinate the military and logistical operations of the Revolutionary Defense Forces (RDF), the Central Committee sanctioned the formation of the Main Command Administration (MCA). The MCA, while serving as a military high command structure for the RDF, would be chaired by the People's Secretary for Defense and in turn be staffed with leading officers of all three elements of the armed forces, specifically the Red Army, Red Navy, and Red Air Force, as well as civilian administrators and coordinators for each branch. This includes but is not limited to the Supreme Commander, Marshals of all three branches, and other relevant officials. The purpose of the MCA, as according to the People's Secretariat for Defense, was not only to provide guidance, leadership, and command the RDF in times of war as well as peace, but also to provide a centralized structure for the vast military apparatus to apportion and distribute military resources. It would also be responsible for distributing promotions, assigning officer commanders, determining military policy, and overseeing the weapons system, among many others. Premier Helo Silveira confirmed in an official press statement in the capital that the peacetime size of the Red Army was to be set at 500,000 troops and personnel, and that efforts are currently underway by the People's Secretariat for Defense and the armed forces to attain such efforts by 20XX. He did not elaborate on the Navy and Air Force, though he did briefly mention the Navy and Air Force would undergo a degree of expansion in the years ahead. Quote

JEDCJT Posted February 3, 2011 Author Report Posted February 3, 2011 RED NAVY TO UNDERGO EXPANSION, BLOCKADE ON U.K.I.M. TO BE CONTINUED INDEFINITELY Revolutio - In response to public demand, People's Secretary for Defense Gerard Sinclair made a special press statement regarding plans for the Revolutionary Defense Forces (RDF), of which he stated that the Red Navy would be expanded to 71 ships total, including battleships but excluding submarines. As the former Royal Ursalian Navy had built approximately 27 submarines, and the vast majority of them had joined the Red cause during the Revolution and civil war, the number of submarines in the Red Navy will be increased to 35. Altogether, the Red Navy would have approximately 106 ships serving under its command. As with the Red Army, the Red Navy would be formed into divisions of command. According to Sinclair, the Red Navy would be formed into CVBGs (carrier battle group) and BSGs (battleship strike group), of which each CVBG or BSG would consist of eleven or twelve ships, depending on the decisions made by the Main Command Administration. In turn, two CVBGs or BSGs would form a Naval Fleet. Sinclair also elaborated on the Red Air Force as well. The Air Force will have a total of 105 squadrons, of which each squadron will consist of twelve fighters, interceptors, strike-fighters, reconnaissance, transport, and cargo aircrafts. Unlike the former Royal Ursalian Air Force, the Red Air Force will utilize air wings and groups as part of an operational command system. To elaborate further, an Air Wing will consist of two squadrons (totalling 24 aircrafts), whereas an Air Group will consist of two Wings. Lastly, Sinclair announced that the blockade on the U.K.I.M. would be "continued indefinitely." The Red Navy, he stated, would continue to patrol off the coasts of Washington State and Oregon, and to prevent any shipping going to or coming from the U.K.I.M, until further notice. He reiterated that any ships sailing from U.K.I.M. ports would be sunk without warning; foreign ships would be strongly encouraged to turn away. Any attempts to evade or otherwise challenge the blockade will be met with "full force and might of the Revolutionary Defense Forces, specifically the Red Navy." The Red Navy would continue to cooperate with the Ingruoian Navy in enforcing the blockade. Quote
JEDCJT Posted February 8, 2011 Author Report Posted February 8, 2011 ADMINISTRATIVE DISTRICTS ESTABLISHED, DISTRICT SECRETARIATS FORMED Edmonton - The Central Committee passed a resolution that would establish an overall administrative system throughout the Revolutionary Socialist Republics, and territories, of the Union of Revolutionary Socialist Republics. No longer would there be "divisions" or "counties" in the individual R.S.R.s (for one instance, the Columbinan R.S.R. utilized regional districts and one region, while the Nova Coimbran R.S.R. used census divisions). Instead, all R.S.R.s and other territories would use a common administrative system: administrative districts. Each administrative district would encompass a certain tract of land within a R.S.R., and would incorporate local and municipal districts, including jurisdictions controlled by local Communes. Each division would retain largely the same boundaries as the former divisions or countries in the individual R.S.R.s and territories, albeit with some modifications. To provide for a link between local and provincial government, most especially the relationship of power between the Union government and the local Communes, the Central Committee resolution sanctioned the formation of district Communes to assume administrative control over their areas of jurisdictions; they would have responsibility over the local Communes and in turn report to provincial Communes and on forth to the Union government. Not only that, but district Secretariats were established to further consolidate control by the Central Committee. The district Secretariats would assume the same responsibilities as the provincial and Union Secretariats in their areas of expertise within the administrative districts. They would work together with provincial and Union Secretariats in many aspects. Quote

The Central Election Commission (CEC) had been notified of this name change, and had substituted the old name in favor of the new one at voting booths (any prior votes for the R.W.P. will be considered as votes for the Communist Party). In addition to the name change, two new mass organizations had been established: the Communist Youth League (C.Y.L.) and the Young Pioneer League (Y.P.L.). The Y.P.L., to consist of children aged six to fourteen, will be placed under the aegis of the C.Y.L., which will consist of individuals aged fourteen to thirty. Both organizations will be administered by the current ruling Party, that is, the Communist Party. Both organizations will be organized on the current model of the Communist Party, meaning they would be led by a party Central Committee headed by a First Secretary (a major departure from the Union-level Central Committee), and other similiar institutions. According to a C.Y.L. official, on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak about the matter, approximately 100,000 citizens of eligible age had joined the organization in the first week alone, and the organization predicts that this number would steadily increase in the near-future. The Y.P.L. have reported similiar degree of successes, as well. Quote
JEDCJT Posted February 19, 2011 Author Report Posted February 19, 2011 (edited) ONTARIO JOINS THE UNION Thunder Bay - With a large margin of support in favor of becoming a Revolutionary Socialist Republic in a special convention held in Thunder Bay, the Ontario Commune voted 17-7 to formally join the Union of Revolutionary Socialist Republics as a fully-fledged Republic. Through such, it also ratified the Basic Law, with a margin of 16-8 to do so. To confirm this, the Central Committee passed a special resolution officially establishing the Ontarian Revolutionary Socialist Republic (O.R.S.R.), with its provincial capital to be centered in Thunder Bay. Furthermore, the Ontarian Communist Party, along with other political parties, was formally established in the new Republic at the local and provincial level. The Ontario Commune, in turn, became the new legislative body of the O.R.S.R. As with other R.S.R.s in the Union, the O.R.S.R. would be allowed to have its own flag, coat of arms, and an anthem. It also would have the ability to send representatives to the planned All-Union People's Assembly and its two houses. Edited February 19, 2011 by JEDCJT Quote
JEDCJT Posted February 20, 2011 Author Report Posted February 20, 2011 MAIN COMMAND ADMINISTRATION REORGANIZED Revolutio - At the initiative of People's Secretary for Defense (and de facto leader) Gerard Sinclair, the Central Committee approved the reorganization of the Main Command Administration, and the wider military command system of the Revolutionary Defense Forces. To this effect, the Main Command Administration was divided into two separate but similiar organizations: the Central Military Commission of the Union of Revolutionary Socialist Republics (CMC-URSR) and the Central Military Commission of the Communist Party (CMC-CP), of which would be known collectively as simply the Central Military Commission (CMC). Supervisary power was to be wielded by the Standing Committee of the All-Union People's Assembly, and the Central Committee would have the power to appoint (and remove) officials from the CMC with the approval of the Council of the Union. The CMC (at least, both of its subsidary organizations) would be chaired by the People's Secretary for Defense. The CMC, to be staffed by the most senior military officials and generals, would have command authority over the RDF, including but not limited to assigning officer commanders, granting promotions (and demotions) determining military policy, and overseeing the weapons system. The CMC would have the authority to appoint and remove officials of the Supreme Revolutionary Council (to be explained below) with the approval of the Council of the Union. Finally, the CMC would assume administrative, command, and operational control over the Red Guards and their organizations. In turn, the Supreme Revolutionary Council (SRC) was formed to serve as a general staff of the RDF. Like the MCA before it, the SRC would function as the main headquarters of the RDF, and would be chaired by the Supreme Commander of the RDF. It would have operational and administrative (though not command) control over the armed forces, and would report to the People's Secretariat for Defense through the CMC. It would be responsible for mobilizing the RDF in times of war, maintaining logistics, gathering military intelligence, planning and coordinating operation commands and communications, and conducting electronic warfare.
