Kankou Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 (edited) Gaegyeong Kap sucked in his cigarette. The Emperor and the other federal government had been evacuated to the various bunkers, but he was still in his office. If Gaegyeong was going down, he was going to go down with it. He checked the clock. It was nearly time. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1..... The ground suddenly shook, knocking him off his feet. The crashing sounds of glass and clanging sounds of metal panels were almost lost against the tremendous rumble of the intense, man-made earthquake. The noise was so great that Kap could barely hear anything else. Thankfully, the buildings in the capital have been built for earthquakes, so despite the shock waves, it was still on its spring support and avoided structural failure. After several minutes of tremors, the Premier got up unsteadily from beneath the overturned chair, pain cracking his knees. It seems the kneecaps were broken, but that'll heal soon enough; what mattered was.... The intercom began ringing. "What?" "Premier, are you all right?!?!?!" "Yeah, I'm !@#$@#$ fine. Report on what the hell happened." "Data's coming from the Daejeon center. So far the only info we have is that three missiles hit the corners of the Capital Region, detonating at ground level." "Ground level? That explains the lack of damage....." "Also, one exploded into the center of Daehwa, within a deep valley. However...." "What?" "Four hit the Hanka Region." "Where the Japs are?" "Yes. Estimated yield was 10 megaton per warhead. Ussuriysk has been completely destroyed, and with calculations, it seems Vladivostok will suffer some damages." "All right. I'm heading down to Daejeon. Send a heli." As he turned off the phone, he notice that a locket had its chain broken, and was lying on the floor. He picked it up, opening it to see an old photo of two young men. "Defying the gods as usual, aren't we, brother?" Edited January 9, 2011 by Kankou Quote
Kankou Posted January 7, 2011 Author Report Posted January 7, 2011 (edited) Jinhae A collective sigh of relief came out from the headquarters. The Cheonggyeokjeon anti-ballistic missile system had managed to take down the missiles heading for the center of Gaegyeong and the Wonju District of Daehwa. In addition, one of the Gaegyeong missiles was slightly deflected, hitting the same place as another missile. The Hanko region was unprotected, but that did not matter. Two out of six..... not bad for starters. Ishima Kaigen turned from the situation screen and headed out of the room. Edited January 9, 2011 by Kankou Quote
Kankou Posted January 7, 2011 Author Report Posted January 7, 2011 (edited) Somewhere in the Skies of Daehan ".... So let me get this straight. Because the nukes exploded at ground level just like an average megaton-class should, damage has been limited?" "That's right sir. When we include the fact that Korea has one of the hardest rock formations in the world, there has not been as much damage as expected. However. while the destruction of the Gaegyeong proper has been avoid, the damage has been done. The eastern end was hit by two missiles, with most of the Gaegyeong people of Changpung, the Chosun people in Southern Tosan, and Eastern Cholwon, and the Daehan citizens of Yeoncheon killed, totaling about 150,000. At the southern end, the Gaegyeong districts of Panmun and Kaepung, and the northern half of the Daehan district of Gimpo have been affected, with approximately 200,000 deaths." "Daehwa's situation?" "About 150,000 dead. The blast of the nuke has been deflected greatly due to the mountains, so the damage was even less. However, things are bad over at Hanka." "It's not like I !@#$@#$ care about those northern Japs. A good Jap is a dead Jap. Anyway, what's the number?" "12 million dead with no survivors, and that's only including our territory. The effects of the explosion stretches to Vladivostok, so we're not quite sure of the total casualties." "Any Yamato people within former Japan?" "No, they live further north, so as far as I know, it's only the Japs. All Yamato people within Korea are in Daehwa." "Good enough. I'll be arriving in half an hour." Kankou Posted January 14, 2011 Author Report Posted January 14, 2011 Daehan Army Central Bunker, 5 hours after attack Kap sat at the head of the title, with most of the Daehan military on the side. "Situation so far?" "The weapons launched at Gaegyeong and Daehwa seems to be of the clean bunker-buster type, which explains the ground burst and relative lack of fallout. Daehwa has it almost covered with the geography, but the Gaeseong district of Gaegyeong has extensive damages, so we'll be razing around half of the city to rebuild." "What about Hanka?" "There were four airbursts, and a lot of fallout, which is drifting northeast. Turns out even Vladivostok has been wiped off the map." "Put a call to Chosun to get the cleanup crew ready, along with emergency aid. Seems like we'll have to help out those Japs there, since Rebel Army probably can't handle everything." "Understood." Just then, the speech from Nordland was on. Kap looked at the broadcast and smiled. "Well, it seems like we're going to have some fun." Quote
Kankou Posted January 14, 2011 Author Report Posted January 14, 2011 Five days later, Daehan Army Central Bunker Everything had been prepared. Most of the nuclear damages in the Homeland had been "repaired" (meaning demolished), and mountains of aid were prepared to be sent to the continential Japanese territories. Meanwhile, Selenarctos sent a offer which was very interesting. "Prepare the broadcast." Quote
Kankou Posted January 15, 2011 Author Report Posted January 15, 2011 (edited) Martenshaven, Germany Among the dozens of Korean scientists working in Germany were 15 agents of the KCIA. When the terrorist attack on Nordland was publicized, they set to work on tracing the trail of Po Ta To. The investigation narrowed things down to the port city of Martenshaven, where they found something interesting..... After an intense firestorm of bullets, the KCIA agents entered a warehouse full of dead bodies and a Imperial Austrian Flag on the wall. The agents started going through the crates, which were full of various weapons, money, and reports. One tape had the label "Operation Hellfire". "To Gestapo: We've found the hideout of the Austrian Imperial Alliance. Send in investigators." After the leader contacted the German police, they sent a copy of the tape by coded transmission to Korea. Another day's work, sending would-be warriors to Vahalla.... or was that Hel? Kankou Posted January 22, 2011 Author Report Posted January 22, 2011 The 200,000 Chosun troops moved into Transamur using the dozens of hovercrafts stationed in Chongjin, landing in former Vladivostok, they started going northeast, reaching the mouth of the Amur river in two days. From Khanka Lake to the Golden Horn Bay there were barely a thousand people left. Despite the strong anti-"Jap" sentiment and the harsh working conditions, the troops went on stoically, trying to save as many as possible. The order of the Supreme Commander was absolute, and they would follow into hell whatever command was given. Thousands of tons of aid were sent by boat, and the 36 Chongongs (B-52H) airdropped emergancy rice along the Amur. Once the Zargathian workers come, the command would be given to them. OOC: Any IC/OOC responses to this should be posted in other threads. Thank you. Quote
Kankou Posted February 14, 2011 Author Report Posted February 14, 2011 The Chosun troops had done their mission with high casualties. They had cleaned up all of the continential Japanese protectorate, since Zargathia and Rebel Army were preoccupied with other things. From Golden Horn Bay to the northern tip, the soldiers overcame much difficulties and accomplished their objectives, fighting the gods of death. At the same time, they finished a side mission: relocating the millions of Yamato people who had originally left Zargathia for Transamur. Not wanting to be under the rule of either Japan or Zargathia, they moved into the Hanka Region, replacing the now-dead unloyal Japs. Better a cousin than an enemy. OOC: Will reedit with more details. Any questions about this, send a PM. Do not post anything here. Quote
