Today marks the begining of the Navy's internal part of the inquest into exactly what happened off the coast of Labrador. All those involved will be questioned and there will then be an external public inquiry if required pending the results of the internal inquiry.

First to be questioned would be Captain Scott Bakula, commanding officer of the PRS Belfast, the flagship of the PRN and the ship that was fired upon.

In a small office building in Belfast, the Captain arrived thirty minutes early. He walked inside and took a seat in the wating area. The building was owned by the PRSIS, but was frequently used by various other organisations for this type of situation.

He heard his name called. He got up and began to follow the officer who was sent to bring him. As he entered the room he was surprised at how small an affair this would be. Only two people were inside at a small table, with one empty seat waiting for him.

"Captain Bakula, take a seat please." Said the larger of the two men, "My name is Admiral Stone, and this is my colleague Admiral Jones." The other man nodded in recognition. "We would like to ask you a few questions but before we get started is there anything we can get you?"

"No Sir." Replied Bakula, "I'm fine thank you."

"Alright then, let's get started. Can you please describe the events that occured aboard PRS Belfast on 17 December 2010 at approximately 01:17 AM." Asked Stone.

"Yes Sir. We were en-route to the Hudson Strait to get to the Hudson Reich to assist them. There was nothing out of the ordinary until at 01:17 we detected a missile fired at PRS Belfast. Thankfully, the CIWS quickly took care of the threat. We had no radar contacts but as we had a satellite in the area we sent back a request to OPCOM to see if they could find out the origin of the missile. Approximately 10 minutes later we recieved back that the missile had been launched from below the water. We then mounted an Anti-Submarine operation using Merlins to drop sonobouys around the target area. They got a contact and PRS Initiative under the command of Captain Shatner then fired three torpedos against the contact which was destroyed."

"O.K. thank you. Now, what can you tell me about the discovered submarine?"

"Well it was estimated at 18000 tonnes, travelling at 25 knots at around 200m and it was heading directly towards Northern Labrador. If you ask me, the only people that would flee from a cowardly attack like that towards Labrador, would be someone from Labrador."

"Yes our feeling exactly. What happened after the contact had been destroyed?"

"We exited on a north-east course away from Labrador and looped round back towards Maine. We all remained on battel stations but there were no further contacts."

"O.K. well that about wraps it up for today. Thank you for your co-operation Captain."

"No problem Sir. Oh, there was one more thing."

"Yes?"

"Well the course the submarine was taking. I took a look and there are no ports along the coast there, and it was definitely heading for the coast."

"Really? We'll look into it."

The captain stood up, saluted and exited the room. He left the building and jumped in a car that would take him to Belfast Air Force Base where he would board a helicopter to take him back to the PRS Belfast.

"Is that enough Stone?"

"No Jones, it won't be enough. I don't see us getting any more information from the rest of the crew though."

"Agreed, cancel the rest."

"Consider it done. Might be worth looking into where that sub was heading along the coast."

"Might not be anything."

"I dunno, it does seem strange. Anyhow looks like we're gonna have to go public."

"I'll sort out the ships to pull up the remains. Why did it have to be the hard way."

"I know. Anyhow, let's get some lunch, I'm famished."
