king of cochin Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 From: The Kingdom of Cochin To: Commonwealth of Buryatia Greetings, First of all let us congratulate on the remarkable strides in nationhood and international presence that Commonwealth of Buryatia has taken in the short time of its inception. Peace through prosperity is one of the fundamental tenets of international relations as followed and espoused by the Kingdom of Cochin and what better way for prosperity between nations than through mutually beneficial trade. Thus, we request permission to send a trade and diplomatic delegation to Commonwealth of Buryatia to explore means and ways by which trade and diplomacy between our nations could be expanded. Yours Sincerely, KP Varma, Minister of External Affairs, Kingdom of Cochin. Quote

We would like to accept your offer of a send a trade and diplomatic delegation to visit us. king of cochin Posted January 2, 2011 Author Report Posted January 2, 2011 Dr. Mathew Joseph, the Minister of Industry would travel to Yakustk with a diplomatic and trade delegation to meet with President Vladimir Potomkin. Quote
VigilantWatcher Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 Presidential Office Yakutsk President Vladimir Potomkin awaited the Kingdom of Cochin delegations' arrival. He was excited to finally have his first international vistors and he knew that this conference could provide Buryatia with vital economic and trade agreements. He has sent a car to Yakutsk Airport to collect the delegation and bring them to the meeting. Quote
king of cochin Posted January 2, 2011 Author Report Posted January 2, 2011 On meeting with the President and the usual diplomatic pleasantaries Dr. Joseph said,"Thank you for extending an invitation to us, President Potomkin. As we informed you we are interested in establishing trade and diplomatic relations with you. Vauleyans and Buryatians have traditionally friendly neighbors to the Kingdom of Cochin however due to various political instabilities were never able to formally create a working relationship. With Buryatia we hope that we can start with the mechanisms to really build a mutually beneficial and prosperous relationship. We are interested in gaining access to Buryatian markets and we also invite Buryatian industries to take full advantage of the massive Cochin markets. On diplomatic fronts we are interested in signing treaties with you to strengthen our diplomatic relationships on a long term basis." Quote
VigilantWatcher Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 (edited) President Potomkin smiled. "I am very pleased to have you here. I have wished for a nation such as the Kingdom of Cochin to take an interest in Buryatia. I am open to any economic agreements as i hope to benefit both our nations with these talks. I would also like a political agreement with the Kingdom of Cochin as it will as you said strengthen our diplomatic ties and also encourage travel between both our nations." He paused for a moment before continuing. "I hope to get a good deal for both our countries. By the way, what do you have in mind?" Edited January 2, 2011 by Curristan Quote
king of cochin Posted January 2, 2011 Author Report Posted January 2, 2011 "Mr. President, what we have in mind for now is a Non Aggression Pact, which is pretty much the starting rung in international diplomacy and a Free Trade Agreement between our nations. With more improvements in our relationship hopefully the depth of diplomacy can also be strengthened." Quote
VigilantWatcher Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 President Potomkin nodded. "I agree with the Free Trade Agreement as this will provide a good supply of goods between our nations. However i think that since there is history of amity between Buryatians and Kingdom of Cochin that perhaps we could start by an optional defense framework? Also is it possible for a troop and base exchange sometime in the future?" Quote
king of cochin Posted January 2, 2011 Author Report Posted January 2, 2011 Dr. Mathew Joseph considered the alternate proposal from President Potomkin and after consulting with the senior Ministry of External Affairs diplomats part of the delegation replied, " Sir, we would indeed be honored to start with an Optional Defense Pact with Buryatia. Nations with such cultural amity indeed warrant such a start to formal diplomatic relations. However to fully commit ourselves to an ODP, we need to gain cooperation from the Serene Republic of Vaule would have to grant us transit permissions in case we are ever to defend each other in case of a conflict. For the time being we are tentatively acceptable to an Optional Defense Pact with the Commonwealth of Buryatia. As regards troop and base exchange I am afraid we cannot commit to that for the moment. Such an act requires greater deliberation and consultation with our Government as we need to consider all possible strategic ramifications. So, pardon us, let us consider that to be a subject for a future discussion. As of now we are thus agreed to an Optional Defense Pact with a Free Trade Agreement. If you have a draft treaty document, I am vested with plenipotentiary authority to sign the treaty for the Kingdom." Quote
