king of cochin Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 From: The Kingdom of Cochin To : Serenessima Republika Vauleya Greetings, For several years our nations have been peaceful neighbors. Through ages of conflicts and wars when nations all around the world have been at each other's throats our nations have proved that peaceful coexistence is a fact and not just a Utopian dream. It is however time that we strengthen this relationship so that we go from peaceful neighbors to trusted allies. Hence, we invite the Serene Republic of Vaule to send a delegation to Cochin City so that we may explore how relations between our nations can be truly strengthened. Yours Sincerely, His Highness Kerala Varma, The King of Cochin Quote

As they approach the border they file a flight plan with the Kingdom of Cochin and request landing instructions.
The flight from Vaule was directed towards the Executive Air Field in Cochin City from where Prime Minister Potusek and Foreign Minister Trubachev would fly to Hill Palace aboard a King's Guards Blackhawk helicopter after being received by KP Varma, Minister of External Affairs. At Hill Palace the Vauleyan dignitaries would be led to the King's Office where His Highness Kerala Varma would welcome them. "Congratulations Mr. Potusek on winning the elections and forming the first government of the Serene Republic. I thank you for accepting our invitations. As I said in the missive, we are greatly interested in exploring further diplomatic relations with your nation. Our regions have been neighbors for almost two decades. It has been a peaceful coexistence in a world so full of conflicts and instabilities. We are of the solemn belief that such a peace is possible only because of nations with shared philosophies, mutual tolerance and respect. Such relations being so few and far between, it would be extremely unfortunate if we did not seek to further develop this relationship into a strong alliance. What is the opinion of Vaule regarding this?" Quote

After spending a second or two to arrange her thoughts, the Prime Minister responded: "Thank you for your congratulations your Majesty. As was said previously, my government is honored to be the first to solidify the years of cooperation between our two nations. It is indeed a shame, that we have not taken advantage of this strong relationship to promote areas of common interest before now. For one, my government would like to encourage increased trade between our two nations as well as strategic and military cooperation. I hold the view that nations which, prior to the signing of any formal document or treaty, cultivate an atmosphere of mutual trust and cooperation are much better able to form a strong and lasting alliance. I believe that the Kingdom of Cochin and the Serene Republic are two such nations. I look forward to your views as to what the first step in this process should be."-Reporter Quote
king of cochin Posted January 4, 2011 Author Report Posted January 4, 2011 "As you suggested Ms. Potusek, trade and international alliance should indeed be explored. Going by the economic history Vaule and its predecessors, I am taking a wild guess that a Free Trade Agreement may not be accessible. However perhaps a preferential trade agreement whereby we promote international trade and commerce between our nations while also taking measures deemed necessary to protect domestic industries from unfair competition is on the cards between Cochin and Vaule. Couple such a trade agreement with a Mutual Defense framework and the friendship between our nations could be an extremely strong alliance. As part of the Mutual Defense framework we could conduct joint exercises, technology share agreements as well as joint research and development in emerging technologies. Bring the massive infrastructure of Vaule and the superlative technology of Cochin, we can indeed create wonders in this world, Prime Minister," Kerala Varma would reply. Quote
Imperator Azenquor Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 (edited) The Prime Minister thought for a moment before replying: “I must say that I would not be opposed to a free trade agreement between our two nations. The economic protectionism of the past has negatively impacted the growth and innovation of the Vaulian economy. I welcome any opportunities to deepen the interconnections between our economy and the rest of Eurasia. Based upon our initial discussions thus far, I have taken the opportunity to draft the following document.”
Vaule-Cochin Mutual Defense Pact and Free Trade Agreement Article 1: Sovereignty The Kingdom of Cochin and the Serene Republic of Vaule are independent and sovereign nations.
