A Divine Treaty

[i]Little could be done or said to reconcile the devastated Vikings who had just suffered their ninth loss this season. What had caused this slump? They had signed on one of the most highly known quarterbacks, Brett Favre, and yet they felt so... lost. For so long, their fans had held that strong affirming faith, but no longer. The Viking's faith too, almost seemed to be fading to a mere allusion to its once greatness. That's when it came to them. Valhalla! They were strong supporters of the Vikings, no matter what. Brett and some other players on the team decided to start their own Vikings team owned by Valhalla themselves! But fate had its own, methodical and conniving plot for the old team...

Interception after fumble, unexplainable injuries, and emotional trauma that nearly crippled the team entirely. It was, unequivocally and irrevocably considered the prologue to a true apocalypse. But He had another plan for the battered and loss weary team...

On the 18th day of the 10th month in the year of our LORD 2010, Valhalla received a sign.

“Follow the Path, Follow Exodus.” To Brett, an avid Valhalla viking, it was almost like a slap on the butt.

Valhalla received the divine, most angelic command from the omnipotent one Himself. The words uttered to him in the most melodic and pure voice ever manifested stood as testament to what was achievable -- victory. So he went on his trek to find the path to Exodus. Toil and torment ensued as he traveled through the fierce and unruly wilderness of Minnesota. For two months and thirteen days he endured hardships that many men could not have even imagined to witness in a lifetime. Fortunately, he was on a holy mission, prepared and conceived with him and his purpose in mind.

Then it happened... Finally, Brett had made it!

Today, finally, after so much trivialities and terrors, Valhalla would like to truly affirm that they have followed the path and arrived to their beleaguered, yet most sacramental destination: Exodus![/i]

[u]Preamble[/u]
Valhalla and Exodus wishing to confirm their friendship and collective defense hereby enter into this Mutual Defense and Optional Aggression Pact.

[u]Article 1: Non Aggression[/u]
No member of either alliance shall ever commit an act of violence toward the other. Any rogue attack will be punished as seen fit by the responsible signatory.

[u]Article 2: Respect[/u]
Both signatories agree to remain respectful to each other at all times. Any disputes will be settled diplomatically via private channels.

[u]Article 3: Intelligence[/u]
Both signatories agree to share any and all information pertaining to the security and stability of one another. All information passed between the two alliances shall be kept confidential.

[u]Article 4: Mutual Defense[/u]
1. Defensive War: An attack on either signatory alliance will be seen as an attack on both alliances. Proper defensive measures will be taken.
2. Non Chaining Clause: If either signatory is attacked due to honoring a military treaty that they share with a foreign alliance, mutual defense is no longer mandatory. Both alliances advocate enacting the option, but understand that there is the possibility that the other may choose to not enact the option, and that decision will be supported by the other signatory.

[u]Article 5: Optional Aggression[/u]
Both signatories shall also have the option of coordinating with each other to carry out aggressive action against a non-signatory alliance. If either alliance is planning to engage in an aggressive action they must provide the other with at least 48 hours notice before doing so.

[u]Article 6: Cancellation[/u]
This treaty may be canceled at any time by either alliance. Should the need to cancel arise, the canceling alliance must give a thirty six (36) hour notice of their intent to cancel. The treaty will remain in effect until the 36 hour period has elapsed.
