We shall begin discussing the un-occupied territory in the Aleutian Islands and Anchorage which Alaska still wishes to claim but no longer with military force. Quote
JEDCJT Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 "Joseph Sinclair, Vice Minister of External Affairs, will attend. Where do you wish to hold the discussions?" Quote
Padraig Rua Posted December 31, 2010 Author Report Posted December 31, 2010 (edited) How about your beautiful new capital? It would be a honor if we could. Our diplomat John Smith shall be attending the discussions. Edited December 31, 2010 by Chancellor Patrick Quote
JEDCJT Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 "Very well, we will meet in Vancouver. Minister Sinclair will be waiting to meet with your representative." The day before the Alaskan's arrival, Vancouver was tidied up a bit. The next day, a limousine would be sent to Vancouver International Airport to receive Mr. John Smith and transport him to the meeting place, the Ursalia Capitol building. Quote
Padraig Rua Posted December 31, 2010 Author Report Posted December 31, 2010 (edited) At Vancouver International Airport, the Alaskan Diplomat John Smith arrived at 2:00 AM. He walked outside to be met by a Ursalian official who lead Mr. Smith to the limousine. 30 minutes later Mr. Smith arrived at the Ursalia Capitol building. He walked up the steps of the beautiful structure to meet Mr. Sinclair. Edited December 31, 2010 by Chancellor Patrick Quote
JEDCJT Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 Cloaked Parliamentary Guardsmen would escort Mr. Smith up the steps of the Ursalia Capitol building. Their pitch-black gowns would sway in the cool Vancouver air. Joseph Sinclair was waiting in the Conference Room. He stood up when Mr. Smith entered the room. "It is good to meet with you, sir." He said with a smile as he shook hands with the Alaskan representative. "Now, if you will take a seat, we have things to discuss." Sinclair said as he sat down. Quote
Padraig Rua Posted December 31, 2010 Author Report Posted December 31, 2010 "I thank you for your generosity of allowing these discussions to be held in your wonderful capital. I have never seen such a beautiful city before. It is as grand as Constantinople." said Mr. Smith as he sat down. "Now as you said let us begin. What is your view on Anchorage and the Aleutian Islands?" asked Mr. Smith. Quote
JEDCJT Posted January 1, 2011 Report Posted January 1, 2011 Sinclair chuckled at the compliment on the Ursalian capital. "Thank you for this compliment. As for Anchorage and the Aleutian Islands, they are our protectorates and hence territory that are administered by the Kingdom." He said as he looked at Mr. Smith. "To elaborate, the Aleutian islands of Attu, Kiska, and Unalaska are territories that the Kingdom has long-term interests, and would like to...retain them for the time being. However, Anchorage is one City that we are willing to turn over to you...but of course, this will require discussion. Drinks?" At this point of time, a waiter strode over. He looked at both Sinclair and Smith with a smile. "May I get you drinks?" He inquired. Sinclair nodded. "Water, please." Quote
Padraig Rua Posted January 1, 2011 Author Report Posted January 1, 2011 "I'll have some whiskey please, Irish if possible." The waiter poured out some Irish whiskey and gave it to Mr. Smith. "We have no objections for Ursalia administrating the Islands of Attu, Kiska, and Unalaska for a extended amount of time." He took a drink of his whiskey and spoke again "However we do trust Korea is out of the Aleutian Islands? We believe it is in the best interests of the Americas if a Asian power stays out of the American Continent." Quote
Kankou Posted January 1, 2011 Report Posted January 1, 2011 Meanwhile, in Anchorage, the 5,500 Korean troops were still waiting for the whole Alaskan issue to be solved before they started moving out. Why the Ursalians were taking so much time, they wouldn't know. OOC: Just a situation post, I know nothing about the meeting Quote
Padraig Rua Posted January 1, 2011 Author Report Posted January 1, 2011 (edited) OOC: Your still not supposed to post........... Edited January 1, 2011 by Chancellor Patrick Quote
JEDCJT Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 Sinclair nodded. "Yes, I believe that it would be our interests if Korea's role and participation in North America is kept to an absolute minimum. They has been granted the right to a military base near Anchorage, yes, but strings will be attached. One of them includes the restriction of the number of troops and personnel that Korea is allowed to maintain in its base at any one time." The Ursalian paused to take a drink. "And of course, let's not forget the actions of the former Prussian Empire against the Ursalian protectorate in Anchorage. Before we begin the process of turning over the city to you, we would like to raise the question of financial compensation to the families and relatives of the soldiers and personnel of the Ursalian Armed Forces who had become casualties in the battle for Anchorage. This would be a positive step in the right direction toward the improvement of relations between our nations." Quote
Padraig Rua Posted January 2, 2011 Author Report Posted January 2, 2011 "We wondering when you were going to ask. Of course we are willing to pay compensation to your brave soldiers. Name the price." Mr. Smith took another sip of his drink "My government was wondering about the protectorate you once had over Prussia? Is that still in the question?" Quote
JEDCJT Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 "$700 million." Sinclair stated, sipping his drink. "As for the protection over the former Prussia, that was extinguished when Prussia attacked our troops stationed in Anchorage. Think of it this way: why should you protect these who attacked you?" He chuckled a bit. Quote
Padraig Rua Posted January 2, 2011 Author Report Posted January 2, 2011 "$700 million? Of course.....that is reasonable" He gulped down the whiskey and asked for a refill "Now about the protection. It was the foolish actions of the "Kaiser" which caused said attack." He took a sip of his drink "Many Prussian Military troops refused to fight Ursalian troops, it shows it was only the action of a crazed man. Would you agree?" Quote
JEDCJT Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 "Hm, that may be true, but that does not detract from the fact that as equally as many Prussian troops did fight our troops. Perhaps they did so out of fear, or there were other factors, but still, Prussia attacked Ursalia. But nevertheless, let us look forward to the improvement of relations between our nations." Sinclair said with a small smile as he held out his glass before setting it back down. Quote
Padraig Rua Posted January 2, 2011 Author Report Posted January 2, 2011 Mr.Smith displayed a face of disappointment. But it was removed by a smile on his face "I guess your right. We should improve relations again before making any such agreement again." He gazed into his drink and said "How would you consider Ursalian-Alaskan relations?" Quote
JEDCJT Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 "I would consider our relations to be the beginning of something new." Sinclair said, noticing the brief disappointment on Mr. Smith's face. "And I look forward to see how it would happen. So...is everything finished, then? Do you have a document that would transfer control and sovereignty of Anchorage to Alaska?" He inquired, his glass now empty. Quote
Padraig Rua Posted January 3, 2011 Author Report Posted January 3, 2011 Mr.Smith looked at Mr.Sinclair in a embarrassed look "I seem to have forgot it. I don't suppose you have a version of your own?" OOC: Well I would make one right now but its late. I live in Ireland so its like Monday!Still Sunday in America, or Canada. I am guessing in one of those counties you live. Have to be up early in the morning. Good night. Quote

IC: "Do not fret, I can draw up the document." Sinclair said, chuckling. He got out a blank document, scribbled something on it, and then signed it. It was an official agreement that would transfer Anchorage to Alaska with the usual conditions associated with protectorates: if Alaska collapsed or lost control of Anchorage, then the city would revert back to an Ursalian protectorate. "Your signature, please." Sinclair said as he passed the document to Mr. Smith for him to sign. Quote
Padraig Rua Posted January 3, 2011 Author Report Posted January 3, 2011 Mr.Smith took out his pen from his front pocket. He Signed with the usually signature. He then grabbed his glass and raised it up saying "To Alaska and Ursalia" and drank from it. Quote
JEDCJT Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 Sinclair nodded as he raised his empty glass. "Amen to that." OOC: I assume things are finished, then Quote
