Markus Wilding Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 Councilman Roybal and Echevarría landed in the Minmatar capital of Matar, where they had been requested by Minmatar leadership. The two councilors were escorted by two Brotherhood's Fist soldiers, lightly armed and wore shemaghs wrapped around their heads. Both soldiers were Muslim, and were directed to escort the two by Echevarría. The four awaited for Minmatar officials to arrive. Needless to say, they had much to discuss. Quote
Maleatu Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 Walking into the room, a Republic official bade them welcome and presented them to their seats around a large Moagwood table. Moagwood is a native tree in the Minmatar Republic, and it was one of the nation's export products. A deep, burnished brown, the table was strong and sturdy. Pulling an envelope from his jacket, the official placed it on the table. "Welcome to Matar, gentlemen. To get straight to the point, the Republic is in dire need of advanced military hardware." the man said. He pushed over a photograph of a trio of aging technical trucks equipped with a smattering of RPG armed men, and a recoiless rifle. "We're looking to procure a few shipments of BMPT's and BMP4's. Can you help with that?" said the Republic official, earnestly. Quote
Markus Wilding Posted December 30, 2010 Author Report Posted December 30, 2010 Councilman Roybal looked over the two photographs before speaking. "It depends on what you mean by a few. Currently, our factories are constructing T-90 tanks and Brotherhood M8 design armored cars. It would take some time to recalibrate them to the BMPs, although I'm sure we could do it." He continued to study the photos and brought up BMP plans on his Blackberry as Echevarría began speaking. "In addition, as these vehicles are highly complex in both initial construction and training, we can offer soldiers to help train your men in using these vehicles. Free of charge, of course. Also, Roybal's previous offer is still on the table, if you wish to accept it." Quote
Maleatu Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 Nodding slightly, the Republic diplomat took back the envelope with the order for the BMPs and then spoke. "We do appreciate your existing offer, and we find the retooling of your vehicles, to BMPs as well as the training assistance acceptable. However we must decline any broader military training and assistance other than our current offer. We hope you understand our reluctance to involve ourselves too deeply with other nations." the official said. "When could we begin to expect the first shipment, and how many would we be able to acquire?" Quote
Maleatu Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 OOC: Just making sure, are we still proceeding with this? Quote
Markus Wilding Posted January 2, 2011 Author Report Posted January 2, 2011 OOC: Yes, sorry, got a bit sidetracked with my ultimatum to Zoot. IC: "The first shipment is a rather interesting problem. from what our maps tell us, your nation has no sea access. We would have to transfer them through the Kingdom of Cochin, unless we disassembled all of them and transported them by plane, but that's a huge logistical problem in itself. If we can, we'll secure transit rights through the Kingdom before we begin shipping. As for the amount, I would hazard a guess that our factories can output a total of two a day. Barring any unforeseen problems, we can expect to ship about twenty a month, due to the technology required in the vehicles themselves." Quote

The Kingdom and Minmatar have a decent working relationship, and I believe they would be willing to facilitate your request for transit so long as we both assure them that the vehicles are not to be used for aggressive or malign purposes. Please inform us as to when the rights of transit have been approved. Quote
