Sargun II Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 (edited) Acadia Current Acadian Leaders: President: Jeffrey Mathieu Prime Minister: Matthew Richard Secretary of State: Jenevieve LeBlanc Secretary of the Treasury: Ivon Dugas Secretary of Defense: Pierre Bourgeois Government Structure: Acadia is a direct representative democracy. All bills are sponsored by the President, Prime Mnister, Secretary of State or Treasury or Defense, and after being sponsored in a brief two-month period are voted on by the people after public forums representing both sides are held. Laws are all federal - there are no local divisions or subdivisions for political purposes other than mayors of towns and their staffs. All votes are done by majority, meaning only a 50.01% of the vote is needed for a person to gain office or a bill to pass. Leaders last until a vote, held every six months, shows that a majority wants to have an election. If so, then during the next six months, challengers debate with the incumbents and a vote is held at the end of the six months, heralding a new leader. Foreign Policy: Acadia wishes to have direct and friendly relations with all immediate neighbours. The Acadian military will not be used actively, but will always be prepared in case a friend is in need. We will take few responsibilities on the world stage, but we will have close relations with our allies and hopefully integrate ourselves in the regional geopolitics. A Declarative Speech "Greetings! My name is Jeffrey Mathieu. I'm a little busy so my speech here will be short. Ah, today... today is the first day that the second Acadian state will come into existence, the first having met its end several hundred years ago. Disparu, a force of stability, peace, and welfare in the region has granted us our independence graciously, and so in return we will grant them our undying gratitude and friendship. A little brief on Acadian facts has been handed to all of the reporters in attendance, and, well... that's about it, really. I have a couple of laws I need to go submit for voting. Thank you." Edited December 28, 2010 by Sargun Quote

We wish Monsieur Mathieu's administration, as well as the Acadian people, prosperity and peace as they face the future. Furthermore, we also wish that our two states' friendship will grow and develop as time passes." CLASSIFIED Following the announcement, the Protectorate Government was dissolved by the Disparuean Parliament as the Disparuean Forces withdrew its troops from Acadia to the Gaspésie. The Disparuean Government would, of course, provide assistance to the Acadian State if they asked for it. Quote
