Can't collect taxes

I was logged in this morning from roughly 4 minutes before midnight onward, in order to do my midnight collection before I went to sleep. At 12:01, I had the chance to collect taxes.

It said taxes were already collected for the day, when I had been monitoring it, and no money came in from them and I had not already collected them.
My bill payments were unaffected, and I still had to pay them.
This isn't the first time it's happened, I had a 4-day collection (over 3.5m) disappear on me to this same glitch.

EDIT:
9 1/2 hours later, collection option appeared. The earlier 4-day collection didn't have this, though, but now I know it's "temporary".

Refresh the screen if that ever happens. Your computer might not be loading the new data until you do.

Collecting taxes at 12:01 is not a very good idea. That's when the server has the most activity. I guess you learned a lesson today.

You can collect taxes whenever you want. I've never heard of any advice that suggests you collect when the "server has the most activity".
