Boys and Girls, Lords and Ladies, Brothers, Sisters and Cousins,

I've been playing this game for a fair while now, many of you older players may know of me, many will not, but that's the same as a positive reputation because I've not tried to defraud you in any way as is my want.

Now many of us face a time of war, and many of us, too many of us rush towards that with a sense of glee which would be too extreme in the mindless or the retarded. This is at a time when we should be enjoying ourselves and existing peacefully amongst one and other. It's the Christian thing to do.

So it brings me no happiness to find myself having to make the following statement; [i]"As a devout and dedicated Christian I hereby express my total lack of will to fight in a war over Christmas."[/i]

As such I've gone into yoghurt-weaving mode, and being Regnum Invictorum's biggest nation I'm neither willing to fight nor fund such a war at this holy time, and I'm not the only member of this honourable alliance to feel this way. However shoulfd you delcare yourself my enemy by actions of spying or similar I will be only to happy to respond violently.

I'd like to thank Europa for their mature and sensitive suggestion for us to remain removed from the conflict.

I'd also like to remind all readers of this thread how fatal enemies during WW1 managed to arrange a truce between themselves at Christmas and recommend that we might all do the same. [b]Peace to all mankind[/b]

I'd like to remind all readers of this thread how during the American Revolution George Washington's army crossed the Delaware River on Christmas Day and launched an effective surprise attack on the Hessian troops in Trenton the following morning in which 22 of them were slaughtered and 98 were wounded.

The battle was an early and important victory for the colonial army as it boosted their sagging morale and inspired re-enlistments.

Yeah, this really needs to go on your own forums. I would say a lot of CNers aren't religious, but kudos to you for trying to find peace when Planet Bob is smoldering and irradiating. NOT a good idea to post on here man...not a good idea.

It really isn't all that bad (compared to some things he's done :v:). That said, knowing how badly Invicta would want to be at war right now, probably not the best idea in the world.

"Joyeux Noel" was a great movie based on that occasion. But just as in the movie and what I will predict happening in this instance, getting friendly with your enemy hurts more in the long run, and everyone who was involved int hat instance got in deep trouble.
