Now many of us face a time of war, and many of us, too many of us rush towards that with a sense of glee which would be too extreme in the mindless or the retarded. This is at a time when we should be enjoying ourselves and existing peacefully amongst one and other. It's the Christian thing to do. So it brings me no happiness to find myself having to make the following statement; "As a devout and dedicated Christian I hereby express my total lack of will to fight in a war over Christmas." As such I've gone into yoghurt-weaving mode, and being Regnum Invictorum's biggest nation I'm neither willing to fight nor fund such a war at this holy time, and I'm not the only member of this honourable alliance to feel this way. However shoulfd you delcare yourself my enemy by actions of spying or similar I will be only to happy to respond violently. I'd like to thank Europa for their mature and sensitive suggestion for us to remain removed from the conflict. I'd also like to remind all readers of this thread how fatal enemies during WW1 managed to arrange a truce between themselves at Christmas and recommend that we might all do the same. Peace to all mankind God bless you all, and Happy Christmas.

I wouldn't have an issue with "i'm busy so i'm in PM" but citing your religion is just a way of saying "look at me, i'm better than you."
Solaris Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 The war is waged, in fact, to corner Santa Claus export markets.
ShotgunWilly Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 (edited) What the hell?! I'm religious too, but what is your problem! Edited December 23, 2010 by ShotgunWilly
im317 Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 so if we have a cease fire from the 24th-26th your alliance will fight?
Jehht Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 (edited) Y'know, I usually support all my Invictan brothers and sisters. Hell, I've been with the alliance for what's going on three years now or something. What. The hell. Are you trying to pull? OOC: Woohoo, my first actual post instead of just monitoring other situations! Jerk. Edited December 23, 2010 by Jehht
Groucho Marx Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 This needed to be public. Thank you for sharing.
Lord Philip Posted December 23, 2010 Author Report Posted December 23, 2010 I remain no better nor vainer than any other human. However I do, as my ancestors in trenches did, refuse to fight during such a vital time.

Michael von Prussia Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 This would be much better located on Invicta's forums, I think.
LegendoftheSkies Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010
I'd also like to remind all readers of this thread how fatal enemies during WW1 managed to arrange a truce between themselves at Christmas and recommend that we might all do the same. Peace to all mankind
I'd like to remind all readers of this thread how during the American Revolution George Washington's army crossed the Delaware River on Christmas Day and launched an effective surprise attack on the Hessian troops in Trenton the following morning in which 22 of them were slaughtered and 98 were wounded. The battle was an early and important victory for the colonial army as it boosted their sagging morale and inspired re-enlistments. Merry Christmas indeed.
Acca Dacca Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 OOC: Ooooooooooooooooh he's doing a semi-roleplaying bit. IC: /me rubs his stache From one Christian to another, mind putting up a more....Christmas-ish image?
SpacingOutMan Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 So... if I believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster, can I still war?

Hopefully Invicta punishes you for your sad little exhibition here, coward.
GulagArchipelago Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 (edited) Yeah, this really needs to go on your own forums. I would say a lot of CNers aren't religious, but kudos to you for trying to find peace when Planet Bob is smoldering and irradiating. NOT a good idea to post on here man...not a good idea. Edit: Ur welcomed to celebrate Christmas with CCC. Hop onto our forums or channel anytime, but please know that there are people with other beliefs in CN. Edited December 23, 2010 by GulagArchipelago
zzzptm Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 We in Nueva Vida just had a bash with the lunar eclipse on the solstice, but, sure, we won't attack you on the 25th.* *Unless we're at war, in which case we'll get you around the time Santa Claus is plying the rooftops.
Stefano Palmieri Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 Oh wow OOC: Oh wow, really?
The MVP Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 [ooc] The picture you showed was not Jesus' birth, it was his crucifixion. And as a Christian I find you using this quite in bad taste. This is a game, for you to use such a picture in this context is absolutely ridiculous. I'm religious and I do take offense to that. [/ooc]
Gamemaster1 Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 Probably not the best spot to post this but I respect your decision if it was truly made for the correct reasons.

Hopefully Invicta punishes you for your sad little exhibition here, coward.
It really isn't all that bad (compared to some things he's done ). That said, knowing how badly Invicta would want to be at war right now, probably not the best idea in the world.
Comrade Craig Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 (edited) [ooc]I'm terribly confused. This is an in-character forum. Why are you talking about how long you've been playing this game here? And will you be abstaining from all forms of entertainment, or only this one irrational and arbitrary selection? When Lent comes around, will you be whining to the food channel for their insensitive programming, too?[/ooc] -Craig Edited December 23, 2010 by Comrade Craig
Jackred Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 (edited) what better way is there for Marxists and Indonesians to come together then under a united disinterest in christianity. Edited December 23, 2010 by Jackred

But just as in the movie and what I will predict happening in this instance, getting friendly with your enemy hurts more in the long run, and everyone who was involved int hat instance got in deep trouble.
Chief Savage Man Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 Christmas isn't about Jesus, its about buying stuff. DENIED
