Sargun II Posted December 21, 2010 Report Posted December 21, 2010 (edited) In front of Mount Olympus, Emperor Peaceheart today held a press conference. The Emperor was personally lobbying for the Cup of Nations to be hosted in his country, which is ranked #4 and has the single largest number of football-playing citizens in the world. The Empire, with a population that topped one billion earlier this year, has football government mandated to combat health issues and promote teamwork, athleticism, and professionalism among teenagers, and as such has one of the highest percentages of citizens who play football and thus more people who plan than in many countries combined. "I implore the Association of Football for International Squads to select the Empire to host this fourth Cup of Nations. The Empire, a nation whose well-traveled team consistently produces successful results, fulfills all of the requirements for ideal candidates. The Peaceheart family has ruled with no challenges to their power since the reformation of the Republic and the Empire, and there are no leftover governmental challenges from eras past, when the entire world saw nations rise and fall within months. In a single one of our states, Nigeria, we have ten stadiums of over 60,000 capacity. We have over 150 stadiums with over 30,000 capacity across the nation. Our largest stadium had 93,000 capacity in Sarnunga - and we are about to surpass this with Mount Olympus, which will hold 103,103. "The Empire has prided herself on the amount of government care to the citizens, and has some of the most liberal rules involving human rights in the world. We have one of the highest rates of incoming immigrants in the world, despite a large population. In order to rectify a previous problem of overcrowding and rampant drug use and gang crime among the lower classes, we instituted a decades-long desert reclamation project which has created cities entirely of the poor... cities that now are successful and have drastically raised the standard of living in the nation. "Visitors can feel comfortable knowing that the Empire has, percentage-wise, a very low amount of crime. Different customs of dress are permitted and encouraged. Religions are all tolerated and places of worship are everywhere. Drug and alcohol use, legalized for those above the age of eighteen, is done in moderation thanks to an early-waning system put in place in schools; except for harsh drugs like PCP, we do not arrest people for recreational drug use. The Empire has her students learn four different languages before graduating from university, and translators are everywhere: people do not need to be afraid that they will be misunderstood. "What should also stick out is a promise that, if given this bid, Mount Olympus will be fully operational in time for the tournament. The stadium itself is already completed, and we are currently making sure the grass, already grown, will handle tough work. Parking lots around the complex and trees and scenery are all being prepared. While rather gray now, the stadium will be painted gloriously white and red. Everything will be ready. The stadium will handle 103,103 - larger than any other flagship stadium. "So, AFIS, I have but one statement: choose the Empire. Reward the Empire for her dedication to football, for her masses yearning to see the games of the most popular tournament of the world in person. Reward the continent with two of the top four and three of the top ten footballing nations in the world. Choose the Empire." Edited December 21, 2010 by Sargun Quote
