Padraig Rua Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 (edited) With the recent signing of the North West Pacific Pact, the Prussian Empire and the United Kingdom of Idaho-Montana agreed to defend each other if invaded by a nation not within the treaty. Unknown to Prussia, The United Kingdom of Idaho-Montana had hostile relations with the American Union. Due to the treaty, the American Union proclaimed a trade embargo on Prussia, breaking trade links with both nations. In response the Prussian Empire declared a oil embargo on the American Union, cutting off oil supplies to their nation. Many nations were upset with this act and declared oil embargo's on Prussia, even do Prussia used the oil she produced to fuel herself. The Prussian Empire does not want relations with the American Union to be damaged. We wish to encouraged friendship between both nations. Therefore we wish to talk to the American Union in finding a resolution to these trade embargo's, and perhaps even encourage The United Kingdom of Idaho-Montana to come to the discussion table and end its possible imperialism against the American Union. Other nations can voice their opinion in these diplomatic discussions Edited December 12, 2010 by Chancellor Patrick Quote

Padraig Rua Posted December 12, 2010 Author Report Posted December 12, 2010 Would anyone like to express their opinions? Quote
Michael McBride Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 Hansfeld Kliegenhorn Strausdorf IV stood. "It is the opinion of the Empire that the United Kingdom of Idaho-Montana has long been a destabilizing force in North America, rather than a stabilizing force. In this light, the Empire found it unwise for Prussia to ally themselves with a nation known for inflammatory statements and warmongering. That is all." He sat again. Quote
AironthFlamewing Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 Dr. Stroud stood and took off his wire rimmed glasses before starting, "Herr Strausdorf, What do you suggest would be the best method for my government to improve the world's opinion of it." Quote

"Herr Strausdorf, may I ask why UKIM is a destabalizing force in North America? I wish for you to support your opinions."
Hansfeld stood and cleared his throat again. "First of all, a proper way of addressing me would be Mr. Strausdorf, or Mr. Strausdorf IV. If you insist on using a formal title, Diplomat Strausdorf works just fine. None of this "Herr" business. I am an Imperial citizen, I am not German." "Now that that is out of the way, I will say that the only way for the UKIM to change world opinions of it is to act like what they are: a regional power. The UKIM seems to have these grand illusions that they carry a particularly big stick in North America, and have many times attempted to wield this stick only to find it much to small for the task at hand. This has led to the impression among many that the UKIM is not only exceptionally foolish, but their repeated attempts at the same thing over and over make them seem borderline insane." "As for the Labradorian representative, I will not even dignify you with a formal response if you do not know our own continent's recent history. The UKIM's repeated attempts at expansion east, west, north, and south show what a war-mongering, land hungry nation they are. Simply look at their dealings with the North Pacific Commonwealth. They duped them into "war games" merely as an excuse to easily get their troops into their country so they could attempt to take it over. It was only with the intervention of the North American and international community as a whole that such an atrocity did not succeed." Quote
Shadowsage Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 A grizzled Inquisitor clad in an ornate armor adorned with seals and streamers proclaiming purity in High Imperial coughed once, for attention. "It is the opinion of the Empire that the American Union is quite literally pure of conscience in this instance. The UKI-M is a foreign force bent on annexing the American Union, and even if my government was not duty bound, in blood and ink to come to their defense doubtless we would." He took his seat without another word. Quote

AironthFlamewing Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 OOC: Shad- that was a fully retconned action, how the hell can you pull this action when my government has not moved out of Boise(since the action was retconned the orders were never issued so my armies did not move) Therefore you are using OOC as IC which is against the rules no? IC: Mr. Inquisitor, I know not where you get your information, but the armies of the United Kingdom have not moved from their barracks for months and months beyond training exercises which were conducted in the Barracks Training Yards. We have no designs on the American Union nor the Holy American Empire. We wish some form of peace and calm to be found in the North American Continent. To you Diplomat Strausdorf, The United Kingdom of Idaho-Montana does recognize the error of its ways as it regards its territorial ambitions. The only reason we attempted to expand territorially in the North American continent lay in the fact that we wanted to find a niche in society, and we wished to expand as a power so we felt on the equal to your nation as well as the former Canuckistan and J Andres, we shall call it directly for what it is. We were and are envious of your nation and we wished to expand to feel "on your level." The North Pacific Commonwealth was a nation which we felt we could expand our influence on, our nation at the time was young and immature on the world stage and we now realize the errors of our ways. We beg your apology as one nation to another and we wish to make some form of peace out of these talks. Quote

Shadowsage Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 OOC: Nope, I recognize that was retconned. I'm going off of your previous actions, which include attempting to annex neighbors, other people's protectorates, forceful takeover in times of peace, and diplomatic measures to obtain more territory. All of this points towards involvement against the American Union, considering the recent embargo. Quote
Padraig Rua Posted December 14, 2010 Author Report Posted December 14, 2010 We need to wait for the American Union. Quote
Franz Ferdinand Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 Evan Stone strolled through the doors of the conference and had a good look around. During this, he remarked: "Sorry I'm late, guys. You don't know how hard it is to keep a schedule together, especially with all those films to shoot, competitions to judge and secretaries to interview..." As soon as he took his seat in the proceedings, he noticed that the United Kingdom of Idaho-Montana had sent a diplomat and resulted in putting his head in his hands. He mumbled to himself: "Why... I mean... I should have know this would have happened. Ron won't be happy about this... won't be happy at all." After completely ignoring the United Kingdom of Idaho-Montana diplomat and recomposing himself, he asked the table: "So... have I missed anything of note, and if so, when can we start?" Quote
Padraig Rua Posted December 15, 2010 Author Report Posted December 15, 2010 Karl Hindenburg spoke to the American Union diplomat"Nein, you have not missed anything. We have been waiting for the American Union so that we can begin the talks. Let us begin!" Karl Hindenburg stood up and began to speak in a loud voice "My fellow diplomats and representatives, let me begin by saying first Welcome and thank you for coming. It shows that all American Nations are taking interest in these talks and hopefully some good will result. Our first topic is the trade embargo imposed by the American Union on the Prussian Empire and the oil embargo placed on the American Union by the Prussian Empire. I as representative of the Prussian Empire would like the American Union to explain why they have imposed the embargo in the first place. We ask this kindly."Karl Hindenburg sat back down. Quote
Padraig Rua Posted December 17, 2010 Author Report Posted December 17, 2010 OOC: If this was based on a real life meeting there would be long awkward silences coming from Franz when asked questions Quote
