King Timmy Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 The Start of Socialism President Pegg began to broadcast his address around the globe. "People of Maine, you elected me because of the policies my Party decided on. We intend to implement every single one of those policies. Incase some of you have forgotten them all, I will recap them now: 1) Equal salary plan for all citizens regardless of position 2) Nationalization of all industries and schools 3) Removal of taxes 4) Nation Health Service to be implemented 5) No cuts to armed forces, nuclear deterrent or the DPRM Defence Network We will begin by nationalising all of maines industries and then the schools. Once that has occured each and every one of us, including me, will recieve the same wage. For those of you with more expensive mortgages fear not, it will not be a problem. From now on there will be no capatilism in our fair nation, everything done will be for the benefit of the people and our nation. Once the nationalism and salary plan have been implemented we will remove all taxes, there will be no need for them. After this we will begin to implement a National Health Service, providing free health care for all. Also, you will be able to remain safe and secure as we will not be affecting the budget of any arm of the DPRM military. You need not thank me or my Party, you can all thank yourselves for wanting to become a selfless nation and a true example to the rest of the world, thank you." Quote
Sal Paradise Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 (edited) The Revolutionary Federation applauds Maine's forward thinking policies but issues the same words of caution on which the revolution in France tempers itself: It is easy to effect the eradication of the individual under a socialist rationale. The group or the community is only a means of social organization; the primary political unit remains the individual. There is a common good, but not a monolithic bloc of singular thought. Socialism should seek the liberation of every individual not an abstract concept of the mass. Edited December 12, 2010 by Sal Paradise Quote

While it has great plans there are too much complications that a state could not survive long in such a state. This is doomed to backfire and hit the people hard" Quote

We know it will be difficult for us to achieve what is best for every single individual and we will try our best for them not to be forgotten. It is difficult for any nation to truely do what they intend and we are not under the impression it will be different for us just because of our good intentions. We shall take you words on board and try our best not to fal at his particular hurdle. We will not let that happen. Any true Socialist would embrace what we are trying to do, not distance themselves from us. We have thought through every difficulty and we have decided that if everyone agrees to it and gives their all to see it through, we will survive. Edited December 12, 2010 by King Timmy Quote
