king of cochin Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 With the anarchy descending over the Queendom of Australia, the Kingdom of Cochin is declaring protectorate over the Cocos Keeling Islands. The 3/2 Marine Division of Royal Cochin Army is landing aboard CNS Rapier at the West Island and Home Island of the archipelago while a company is being airdropped on North Keeling Island. At all the landing sites, the Cochin flag would be raised. The first priority would be to maintain continuance of law and order as well as restart supply of essential materials hence an airlift is starting immediately from Diego Garcia towards the Cocos Keeling Airport on West Island. A relief convoy of aid ships is also en route towards the islands. Quote
king of cochin Posted December 11, 2010 Author Report Posted December 11, 2010 The food and aid materials delivered by the first Merat is being transported to the principal islands by the 2nd Marine Division's amphibious vehicles and LSTs as the first of the aid ships started arriving at the islands. Company sized units have been stationed at Bantam Village in Home Island and West Island as technicians from Royal Cochin Navy and Royal Cochin Air Force are taking over the communications infrastructure and logistics systems as existing on the islands so that the aid materials can be better distributed. For the time being the existing civic administration officials would be depended upon as liaisons but Cochin Protectorate Administration had already dispatched administrators to facilitate transition of Cocos Keeling Islands into a full fledged protectorate of the Kingdom. The Hospital ship CNS Sarada is anchored West of Bantam Village which is the single largest population center in Cocos Keeling Islands. The helicopters and aircrafts of the Marine Brigade is currently tasked to civilian duties to provide logistical support for the protectorate operations as well as inter island transportation for the islanders until a more permanent transport solution would be arranged. Meanwhile 26 kms to the North in North Keeling Island, the Marine Company have now established themselves and are setting about creating a helipad. Quote

king of cochin Posted December 12, 2010 Author Report Posted December 12, 2010 As the islands are settling down to the new administration Australians or Cocos natives who want to emigrate to Australia would be provided all facilities for doing so. Though everyone would be encouraged to continue living in the islands no obstruction would be placed for anyone wishing to emigrate. Considering the chaotic conditions prevalent in Australia which itself is now becoming a protectorate of Oceanic Union, the emigrants from Cocos Keeling Islands would be taken to Cochin City where they can directly communicate with the Diplomatic missions from Oceanic Union nations to secure further transit to Australia. Their travel and other expenses would be paid by the Kingdom of Cochin. Meanwhile in Cocos, Cochin Protectorate Administration has set up its offices at Bantam Village. CPA has chartered a freighter from Varuna Mercantile Limited to sail to Cocos Keeling Islands every two weeks from Pondicherry bringing food, fresh water, medicines and other supplies. The freighter would also serve as a principal logistical hub for the businesses operating in the islands. A Commissary would also be set up adjacent to the Administration Office from where products available in the larger Cochin market can be bought by the islanders. As the island started settling down to its placid state of affairs, the Kingdom of Cochin has determined that the following developments shall take place in these islands. 1. Development of Cocos Keeling Airport on West Island into Naval Air Station Cocos where a squadron of Halob tankers and a squadron of Merats would be stationed. 2. Start of regular air connectivity to NAS Cocos from major cities of the Kingdom. Weekly direct flight to Cochin City Twice weekly direct flights to Pondicherry Daily flights to Diego Garcia 3.
