Prince Albert set down his morning paper and took another sip of his tea. The latest reports had indicated the Second Curristan Civil war was over and the country had formed a new government leading to peace. Though much of the nation was clouded in mystery, Albert had always held the country with high regard, as the final enclave on a continent that adopted some sort of hive-mind mentality. After reading the news, Albert sent a diplomatic cable to the Curristan President congratulating her on achieving peace as well as inviting her to his residence in Monaco. He promised the visit would be cordial, and possibly the start of a new trans-Atlantic relationship.

Prince Albert would recieve this reply:

"Thank you for your well wishes and invitation. I will be delighted to visit your great nation and forge a long lasting relationship between our nations."

Immediately she began the long trip to Monaco. On the way she contemplated what the visit could mean for Curristan's political standing and she hoped it was the first step in bringing Curristan out of its isolation from the world.

If President Edwards looked out of her window as the plane landed, she might have realized she was one of the first to land at Monaco AĆ©roport International (IATA: MON). The airport, located on an artificial island off the coast of Monaco, was nearing completion and cranes and other construction equipment was still visible. However, the runways and the majority of the terminals were finished, allowing the President to land unhindered.

A small motorcade was waiting for the President and her delegation. It was simply not reasonable for the Monagasque foreign affairs attache to conjure up grand motorcades in the densely populated urban environment Monaco was known for. Though not as luxurious, the Curristan people were well-looked after as they made their way through the city. The dominating site was the continuing construction of Rainier Island, just off the coast. However the group soon arrived at their destination.

Prince Albert II was waiting at the entrance of the Prince's Palace as he saw the men and women arrive. He warmly greeted the President and those she had brought with her before quickly inviting her inside. He led her into a small yet comfortable room. After offering her refreshments and a drink, he began to speak once more.

"Welcome to Monaco, President Edwards. It's an honor to have you here, I must admit we don't often see people here from Curristan."

President Edwards smiled. "Thank you your excellency. This is my first overseas visit as President. I am honoured to visit Monaco. I have seen the way you live and compared with the austerity post civil war life in Curristan this is luxury. What would you like to discuss?"

"I appreciate your compliment, we are fortunate to live comparatively well-off and hope we can help other nations achieve a similar level of development and prosperity."

The Prince ushered for drinks and some light snacks to be served as the two leaders began their talks.

"I was hoping we could begin diplomatic and possibly economic relations between our two nations. Perhaps you could briefly tell me more about Curristan? To be quite honest, the rest of the world hears little from South America as the majority of it is under the control of the HAE. Is there anything Curristan would seek in an economic agreement with Monaco? Possibly a friendship treaty as well?"

"I would be happy to describe Curristan for you. Well firstly its a nation that has most of the modern conveniences, plus with the fact that we are now progressing into nuclear power now we possess the secrets. We have been isolated politically for some time and i will as President be reversing this by getting agreements such as the one you propose."

She paused to take a sip of tea. "I would love to have an economic agreement and friendship treaty with you. I would also like to offer transport links to and from Monaco via a Cruiseferry service from Washington (OOC: RL Santos) to Monaco. It would run twice a day in both directions using two vessels doing a return trip each. How does that sound?"
