jerdge
I tried to check that this wasn't already reported and I didn't find anything. Apologies if it's just me that missed it. The bug If I am not logged in the game and I follow a direct link to a Wars/Aid screen (such as http://www.cybernations.net/search_aid.asp?search=141583&Extended=1) I am first required to log in, which goes fine, and then re-directed to the desired page, which doesn't contain any War or Aid regardless of the "real" status of those items for that nation (see attachment). This happens while viewing my nation or other nations as well. I don't get any error message and the pages look formally fine, with the usual "NO RECORD FOUND try modifying your search criteria" image that is displayed when there are no results, and every item at this place, but with no "results" even if there should be some. Refreshing the page doesn't solve the bug, while browsing in the game to the same page does it. My browser is Firefox 3.6.8. The bug presents itself every time I follow the procedure described above. I think that other players are having the same bug, as I have confirmation of at least one other instance of a fellow player following a link and viewing an empty Wars screen where there were active wars. The problem might lie in the redirect: when I have the bug the link in the address bar is something like http://www.cybernations.net/search_aid.asp?search=141583&amp;Extended=1 This and this page might also be of help. My technical understanding is quite limited and it might also be a browser problem: if that's the case and you don't mind wasting a little time I'd appreciate some initial direction to look for a solution. Anyway thanks for the attention paid to this report. Edited August 11, 2010 by jerdge
Locke
This has been known for a while, all you can do is replace &, the HTML escape code, with a simple &, or close the window and click the link again once logged in.
Sakura
You can also click the "wars and battles" or "foreign aid" tabs again. Also, it was reported before. (I remember because I posted This.)
jerdge
Thanks Sakura, that's what I meant when I said that "browsing in the game to the same page" solves the bug. The bug isn't blocking and, once one is aware of it, it's harmless. Others might be unaware, anyway, and as I have started experiencing it only recently I thought of some problem that was recently generated in the code and that might have been useful to identify and remove. Harry Dresden
I've gotten it as well. It only appears when you click on a nation's war link without already being logged into the game. To duplicate the bug, first find a war link. This was the most recent one when I was writing this, so I'll use it. http://www.cybernations.net/search_wars.asp?search=414902&Extended=1 . Then open a new browser that is not logged into the game yet. Paste the war link into the navigation bar and try to navigate to the link. It should redirect you to the login screen. Once you log in, you are sent to the war page but with the "&" code in it: http://www.cybernations.net/search_wars.asp?search=414902&Extended=1 I'm not a programmer, but this added code appears to be a block meant to stop people who aren't logged in from seeing wars. You can avoid it by making sure you're logged in before clicking these links.
