Triyun
OOC:
To: All National High Commands From: The Chinese Foreign Ministry Subject: Severe National Security Risk Body: The PLAN Red October has gone missing. Intelligence indicates that the nuclear missile submarine's captain has gone completely insane. He appears to have been a long term sleeper agent of a cult, and is a skilled enough operative that he evaded our extensive psychological screening. This last part is extremely important. The PLAN October with a pair of nineteen megaton thermo-nuclear warheads, and can launch them at any location in 10, 000 kilometers of the submarine's range. The submarine last reported in the Arctic Sea off sixty kilometers off of the Greenland Coast.
Three hundred kilometers East of the Grand Banks. Captain Hui Funan was an old submariner who had become embittered over his many years. The loss of his wife twenty years ago was said by the men of the Red October to have made him a tyrant, he was known for having run the most efficient but strict boat in the Chinese Navy. However, as of late he had seemed to change. The men had been told by him in a rather jovial mood that they were to conduct absolute silent exercises during the next few weeks, while they attempted to evade detection by allied navies as they made their way to South America for rest and relaxation at the friendly ports of the Holy American Empire. In truth nothing could be further from the truth. Hui Funan, had become quite mad and was on his own mission of cosmic vengeance. Since listening to Glenn Beck's weekly radio program to learn english, Hui Funan had merged Beck's apocalyptic warnings about the world with his own adherence to a strange neo-spiritualist cult. Combined with Beck's recent program on flouride in water causing him to switch to pure grain alcohol and one had quite the recipe for disaster.... Vedran
OOC: This is awesome. And don't they have any bottled water over there? Jordosaur94
OOC: Lol, nice shout-out! IC:
To: The Chinese Foreign Ministry From: Kriegsmarine High Command Considering we do not have any subs or a full-on blue water navy, we are afraid to say that we cannot help you here. However, we wish you all the best in hunting this madman and rogue submarine down!
Fizzydog
CLASSIFIED: Non public national security has gone up to threat level yellow. China has disliked South Sudan and maybe it is trying to hide something, although that is unlikely. Public Security is still blue. PUBLIC: For the sub to be so far up means it will most likely not be a threat to us, but we also have no Navy.
king of cochin
To: PRC Foreign Ministry From: Kingdom of Cochin In view of the warning issued by the People's Republic of China, the said submarine would be put under watch list. If the said submarine ventured into Indian Ocean or Antarctic Ocean close to our territorial waters, the Kingdom of Cochin shall destroy it without prejudice. We request PRC to immediately share with us the acoustic characteristics and propeller count transients for the said submarine in order to facilitate this action. Yours Sincerely, Gen. zzzptm
Private communication to all Himynamistan naval elements: Pull back into territorial waters. Keep all submarines well within the territorial limits, as there are lots of other naval elements about to be hunting for a rogue sub. ADMIRAL GONZALEZ: A rouge sub? What, we're supposed to look out for a red sub? How will we know if it's red based on a SONAR image? REAR ADMIRAL PEREZ: No, a rogue sub. It's acting under its commander's own decision, not following PRC orders. Although, being Chinese and all, it technically is a "red" sub. ADMIRAL GONZALEZ: OK, now I'm confused. REAR ADMIRAL PEREZ: Just blast any sub that enters our territorial waters without permission and ask questions later. ADMIRAL GONZALEZ: Now that I can understand! Triyun
Transmission to Cochin: We believe giving out that information to just anyone would only increase this risk of a full nuclear first strike which would result in more deaths than the submarine's payload as well as increase the danger to other missile submarines, therefore we are incredibly reserved with this information. However, we do not believe the Indian is in danger and are providing the information upon request to Novak, Holy American Empire, Greater Pacifica, and Rebel Army. Combined with Singapore's anti-submarine capabilities, we do not believe the Kingdom is in danger, nor would it be likely that the Submarine could make it out of the Atlantic. Please understand our reasoning. If the situation changes so that we believe the Indian could become a probably area of operations, we'll reevaluate this stance.
======================================================== Aboard the Red October, 400 kilometers east of the Chesapeake Bay Executive Officer Li Manda was sitting in the mess hall eating a private meal. He always came in after the main meal time so that he could be alone with his thoughts. Of course this also meant that he had a cold meal, but it was worth the trade off in his mine. He was reviewing the plans which the captain had laid out before them, and he was quite puzzled. We've never done this sort of mission in a war time environment. It makes no sense, it jeopardizes the deterrent capability of the submarine, while there are still combat operations going on in the European Theatre The Executive Officer heard a familiar hum, He's been drinking again... the Captain... he's going insane. he thought. "Manda!" he said addressing the man in the familiar. He lit a cigar, a highly unusual act for the captain, in fact he'd never seen him smoke before. "Today, during my English lesson, Mr. Beck was speaking about something I think Comrade Jia needs to do more to counter." he began. Here we go again. Li Manda said. "Neutralism!" the Captain began. "What makes a man turn neutral. Enemies you know where they stand but neutrals..." the Captain said in disgust. "They're the lowest of the low. You know who collaborated with the Nazis? The swiss. Guess what they were... thats right neutral!" he said. "Sir..." began Li. "I believe its not the place of officers to discuss political matters but rather to follow the orders of...." "Can it!" Captain Hui ordered. "I am your superior officer. I'm just asking questions, Glenn Beck says there is no harm in asking questions! Grain alcohol?" he offered. "$%&@ why not..." Li said hoping a small amount would ease his mind about the fleeting insanity of the captain.
king of cochin
Transmission to People's Republic of China The acoustic characteristics and propeller transient characteristics are unique to every submarine and sharing the data on one would not affect the security of the other vessels in the class. As the preeminent naval force in Indian Ocean we require this specific data if we are to interdict it in case it ventures to Indian Ocean. If this data is not shared and this rogue submarine launches an attack against the Kingdom, the Kingdom shall hold People's Republic of China responsible for the incident. So please cooperate with us, if indeed you seek to interdict this submarine before it commits any harm.

iKrolm
Private Reply to the PRC: Thank you for informing us of the threat. Should the rogue submarine be located, would you prefer for negotiation attempts, to be transmit the submarine's location and deal with it yourself, or simply destroy it on sight? CLASSIFIED: The SOSUS network has been placed on high alert. While doubtful that the network would pickup the submarine, two squadrons of Predator-C UAVs were readied for immediate launch, armed with plane-dropable sonobouies to be deployed at the location of any unexpected echoes. Hopefully, by saturating anomalous areas with sonobouies the presence or lack of a submarine could be determined and dealt with appropriately. Triyun
"We would recommend engagement if it looks like it will launch its missile, if not we request to engage it ourselves so long as one would not lose track of it." -Central Military Commission spokesperson. Thirteen Kilometers from the Transvaal Territorial Water limits, the entrance to the Atlantic The attack submarine Peng Zhen was one of submarine squadron Tigers most fearsome ships. Already en-route to the Atlantic, it had received new orders from the ones to sink German shipping. Now it was to hunt one of its own, the Red October. Lt. Commander Feng Fuzhi was one of the fiercest hunters in the fleet. He had in fact previously served under Red October Captain Hui as the executive officer, and had been eyeing the more prestigious missile submarine as his next assignment. Smart and ambitious Feng Fuzhi was widely known in the navy as one who had aspirations for glory and promotion. In the Chinese Naval War College he won the end of the semester grand war game on daring tactics, which completely destroyed a superior opponent but deliberately sacrificed several high valuable targets, earning him both praise and scorn depending on many of his fellow classmates philosophies. "So the old man has finally flown the coup." he said to his XO in the cramped space of the captain's office on the submarine. "Sir this is..." the man began. "Its not a mistake, we have our orders. The man was always a time bomb, the pain of his wife's death could be buried only for so long." he said. "Order the ship to move at full speed, we'll begin our search in the Central Atlantic, with the activities of our J. Andres allies in the North Atlantic, we doubt they would still be there, if they are in the Central we'll catch them, if they are on the way South, we should be able to find them going along the standard paths."
