Guest lord bitburg
How do sanctions work? I attacked Information Elite and Lords of Light, nations that constantly have 3 attack slots full, and have past wars with myself and several friends, and friends because of the common enemy. These two are attacking nations now, I declared (they are in a alliance of 17), they whined, because they do not have the upper hand like usual. They accuse me of a unprovoked attack?? what about their many many unprovoked attacks? {I guess cyber rules are attack/raid all you want, then if attacked complain, and you can have the big bad man sanctioned??} Anyway after a respectful pm with their alliance leader, I was sanctioned by a aqua senator. I was aqua, attacked Blue, and I am sanctioned, punishing myself, 3 athens nations, 1 ragnorak, 1 mostly harmless with a cancel on long term stable trades. How does this help Aqua grow, or protect us??? I guess the benefitary of this is other colors as aqua is slowed down?? I did not nuke anyone, the leader of BTA,thespoon even said "I understand that these 2 have a tainted past; you're probably the 8th person now that has messaged us and/or attacked them." BTA leader thespoon also said "Every alliance is different and as such, we condone our members raiding unprotected nations. It's very much part of this game. There are a number of alliances that disagree with this, but we are not one." so BTA is a alliance that loves to raid, but not recieving raids??? Why not let the 17 man BTA handle little old me?? Instead I am sanctioned, have been spyed by Foreign division and others (this is a small war, and BTA should be able to handle it) GAME ON I think BTA needs to vet their members better, keep better company. And aqua senators need to look what is best for their color, at no time was I contacted with charges, a reason, my side or anything. Nice Sanction, Nice Justice Let us play the game, I will not cry if 3 BTA attack me. have the large nations send aid, but jeez let us fight, and bleed and some will cry. quigon jinn
I felt sorry for you until I realized you with nukes attacked two nations smaller than you both without nukes. You're going to likely negatively affect literally every nation by nuking those guys (increasing GRL) and are complaining about innocent victims? Guest lord bitburg
They attack smaller all day, and are real smug about it. Not the fun good natured game guys, but bad winners. I like a good war, even had enemies send a recipe to me after they beat me good as a peace offering, (thanks Corbetto) its a game, lets play. I have not nuked them, and was not planning on it, but with sanctions and my nation in a spiral, and all the spy attacks, no reason to waste them If sanctions lifted, I will not nuke, and will stand and fight every BTA that wants a part of me. Lets Rumble Look at their wars, they attack as a team, if coordinated they should have me easy. But a gang rape is ok with me, we will all be bloody. If I join BTA can I be a protected raider that dishes it out, but does not have to take it? And please do not feel sory for me, I will weather this either way, and be better for the wear. Captain Calcium
Moved to World Affairs. To answer your question - "Sanctions can be placed against trade agreements, foreign aid offers, or both and are managed by the top three elected officials of each team. Trade sanctions prevent any member of that team from trading with the sanctioned nation." These are assigned on a case-by-case basis by individual senators; each of whom will have their own criteria for enacting sanction requests.
So it is customary in teams for senators to sanction a nation on the request of 1 nation, without any contact with the nation that sanctions are levied against? seems like alot of power with no checks or balance. so a Senator does what they like without any investigation and very little data to base a sanction on? Absolute power corrupts Absolutly.
Alfred von Tirpitz
meh raiders and associated headaches. You are sanctioned, and there is not much you can do about it. If you find that a color sphere has sanctioned you unjustly, per your value system, just move to another you feel is more in line with your preferences. Maybe if enough folk did that, it would knock some sense into the senators. I would not hold my breath for that though. For the record, if you let your members raid, you should let them face the music on their own. Otherwise you are just providing them a safe place to gather and do their thievery. Mathias
so BTA is a alliance that loves to raid, but not recieving raids???
All alliances defend their members from raids. That's called being an alliance. That said, if you talked to a leader and resolved it, you shouldn't have been attacked. But again, you raided an alliance, so you have to deal with the consequences.

I know the sound of your voice is like a drug high to you based upon this ranting, but TFD did not spy on you Joland did. Let alone why the hell would I help anyone you listed, they aren't even friends of mine.
NationRuler
I felt sorry for you until I realized you with nukes attacked two nations smaller than you both without nukes.
Seriously, if one more person BAWWWs about this, my head is going to explode. IT'S NOT 2007 ANYMORE, FOLKS. IF YOU HAVE NUKES, YOU USE THEM. Bitburg, I have pondered this question many a time. I think that senators ought to think about the consequences to sanctioning a member of their own team. Are the resources of the one being sanctioned an easily replaceable set? How many other nations will be affected by this sanction? Will the sanction really affect the target nation's economy enough to stop him from warring? I think often the cons outweigh the pros, and team senators should be less heavy handed when it comes to pressing the button. I know Goose and CSN have, but many probably do not. Duncan King
It's pretty lame that BTA got you sanctioned. Guess you were just too tough for them. And yeah, Joland's a rogue, TFD doesn't back him. Feel free to nuke him.
