You are in a thread where GOD/GOONS/Kronos admit lying and making up a fake CB.
I really hate to use this line "go do something about it" and stop crying, if you feel so angry and upset about this joke (however poorly you view it) then go get your alliance, go declare on GOD/Kronos and be done with it. You claim to not shade away from war, but you sure don't shade away from crying.

Can I have some more WAAAAAAH WWWAAAAAAHHH WWAAAAAAAAA?

It is a testament to the strength of our relationship, that we fell for it in the first place. A judgment in error was made. This will be worked out precisely because of that same strength of relationship.
Everyone should really ignore this, then we can drag this discussion out another 25 pages.

Glad to hear everything is being worked out between the two alliances. :)

They 'joked' a war was coming, leaked fabricated logs, posted a fake alliance cancellation and made sure Valhalla heard the rumours that they were about to be rolled. 'Joking a war is coming' is not the whole story and in itself would be fine; having a 'joke' at your ally's expense and actively lying to them that they're about to be rolled isn't.

I'm not sure if it's a good thing or not that Valhalla are smoothing this over (putting up with it) with Kronos. I know if someone played that kind of trick on my alliance I'd be incandescent with rage about it and want to cancel immediately.

It's obvious, jRenster, that the entire thing was a hoax. We like Kronos, GOD came up with the idea, we're treatied to GOD and thought it seemed like a humorous thing to do. It was.
I was just wondering because we got reports that it was legitimate but no actual evidence to support it. Seemed a bit fishy at the time.

And I didn't think it was that funny. But bullies that gather around their circle to play pranks on people tend to find those kinds of things funny. I see where you're coming from, I suppose.

And that's why you're the adorable puppy you are, my dear Bob! Always going with your heart, listening to emotions rather than smother them with rationalizing and thoughts. Your adorable go-with-the-feeling attitude on these boards is what makes me come here again and again!

OOC:Don't believe it, brother. Xiphosis is hardly the only Harry Potter fan in the world. I love the stuff. Read all the books with the Dumbledores and Hogwarts and witchcraft and such. Can't get enough of it.

Back on topic, has Valhalla actually forgiven Kronos for their treachery? What's going on there? I don't see how they could ever trust them fully after this stunt. Maybe that's just me.

If, instead of going to peace mode, Valhalla had decided to launch a pre-emptive attack, what would the response have been?

But yea totally agree. It was a ploy to see if they could roll Valhalla

I think that if this were to happen to me, I'd be most angry that there wasn't really a very good punchline. Yes, I'd think it was a jerk move, but if it can make me laugh then I'll forgive a lot of things. In the end all you got out of it is "Well... you sure fooled me. Hmm." The most humorous part was the reaction on the OWF, not the joke itself. Even a simple fakeout "GOONS/GOD DoW...... on boredom" would have at least been something.

You're delusional if you think GOONS 1.0 would love you back now, look at your allies for god's sake. Also congrats on forming an opinion of an alliance of 340 people based on a single post by a non-gov member.
Who knows what they'd think of us now. But that doesn't mean I can't still have warm feelings for them and great memories, they're the reason I'm here in the first place and the reason BAPS exists.

And as I say it was an impression, and since reading comprehension doesn't seem to be your strong suit, I feel it important to be crystal clear here and explpain to you that an impression is different from an opinion, (even though you're doing a bang up job in helping me form an opinion of you, but even then my opinion of you =/= my opinion of GOONS 2.0) and once again to be clear due to your slightly deficient reading comprehension this impression wasn't based on 1 post. I just wasn't bothered going back further looking for more examples, impressions aren't set in stone, and my opinion of GOONS 2.0 won't be formed by your posting, but it was the impression I got from the posting of some GOONS 2.0 members.

I'll give you this: it sure made this place a bit less boring. Even if it was only just a day.

Yes, quite. I agree. I don't mind being the butt of something if it's actually funny, and doesn't really cause me any inconvenience except a little embarrassment. But there's no 'well played' moment here for Valhalla, only having to deal with quite an economic fallout from interrupting tech deals, stopping back collections and freezing aid for five days.

I find myself agreeing with this GOON which, quite frankly, makes my bowels churn. I'd be more lenient in my opinion if the joke had at least been funny. "Oh man we got a smaller alliance to go into peace mode by spreading rumors that we were going to roll them, hahahahahaha." I don't get it.

We were once allied to an alliance that would shift into peace mode with the idea of war going around?

I'm not saying xiphosis was justified, nor was Kronos, but really Valhalla? You think there's gonna be a war and this is your response?
Oh really?

Valhalla, An alliance that was just involved in a devastating war (which it lost) hears that it may be attacked by GOD and GOONS, who's combined NS and members dwarf theirs. Their perceived opposition also has the two world dominating as allies.

And you're making fun of them for diving into peace mode?

Thanks bro, I needed a new sig.

What some of you need to remember is Vesa is gov, but he's not all of Kronos. We've seen no indication this was a joke "Kronos" played on us, but rather it was a joke Vesa played. His position led many in his own alliance to believe the treaty cancellation as far as I know. I find what he did, and how he did it, disturbing, especially for someone who's supposed to be in charge of foreign affairs.

Rather than jumping to a treaty cancellation right away we will take the time to review who was involved, and whether this situation requires that kind of action. You will see reluctance because we certainly have many friends in Kronos who had no idea what was going on.

i see a whole lot of people talking out their backsides.

Kronos and Valhalla are friends. Sometimes you do something douchetastic and hurt your friends. Now if we're talking about 13 yr old girls, then we go off crying and scream that we're never going to talk to each other again. Luckily, we're adults, and we're going to move on and make do with what's left. Will there be ramifications, yeah, there's a seed of mistrust planted now that wasn't in the picture before. That trust will need to be earned again, but that's between Kronos and Val, and is none of your business.

Yeah, we're pissed, but we aren't stupid. The people clamoring for Valhalla to declare, or do something rash need to sit down and think about the situation. How does splatting our membership against the SF/CnG war machine accomplish anything?

Anyways, as i ramble on here, Valhalla understands that this was a joke. One that got carried too far, but a joke none the less. Hell, we'd have gone in on it if we were given the option. I know that wouldn't please some of our allies, but it would have been harmless lulz if there wasn't a concrete victim. We can appreciate the humor even if we don't find it funny ourselves. The issues remaining will be resolved to the satisfaction of the alliances involved and not to the whim of the peanut gallery.

I agree.

Also, PumpkinFunk, you are an idiot if you really think a well executed prank with no actual [OOC]game or forum[/OOC]-related damages, is equivalent to posting illegal pornography all over the damn place.
Did I say that? No. I said that the shock of it now was about the same. I've seen a lot of !@#$ that was OOC and that I'm not going to talk about it. This, though, is one of the worst inter-alliance political moves I have seen and one of the most shocking and disgusting treatments of an ally that I have seen. I haven't seen an alliance pull !@#$ like this on their allies with no retribution ever, or seen alliances consent and aid one ally in scaring the living !@#$ out of another ally. Go ahead and twist my words, though. This was not worse than /b/'s stuff. Nothing will be. This, though, was something that will never shock me again to see. The first time you see someone do something atrocious is the only time you're shocked. In 3 and a half years, no inter-alliance political move has shocked me and made me disgusted towards every alliance involved like this. This wasn't a practical joke, this was a show of power. A raw show of power by GOD. You know why Valhalla went to peace mode? Because their key allies are paying reparations and can't help them. Doesn't matter if it sounds fake or not, you go and protect yourselves when it comes to war. GOONS, GOD, and Kronos would've done the same if they had no allies able to stand with them. And now, it's called a joke and Valhalla isn't making waves because they're in no position to do so, or else they'll just stay in the !@#$%* political position that this move was exploiting.

Oh, I see! SG is worse than the hegemony because they don't roll people. What a world we live in.
But since there's some of the old Hegemony in SG and they are the Dominating force on CN doesn't that by traditional meaning, make you the new Hegemony?

Wait! but since there's some of the old Hegemony in the new, doesn't that make you the original Hegemony with some members kicked out and new members added in?

It was a BS move. yeah. It wasn't THAT bad though. We weren't "scared to death," we were preparing for war. We work fast, we expect that our enemies work as fast. We don't relax because we assume their incompetence. We "ran" to peace mode because it was smart. Not hitting the peace pipe meant leaving the entire alliance open to attack, THAT'S just plain stupid. It had nothing to do with the condition of our allies, it was a tactical decision made on the premise that if we were in the shoes of GOD and GOONS we would have attacked last night as soon as we saw Valhalla start hunkering down.
