Kankou
Official Capital of Daehan Changed In a national referendum, the Republic of Daehan has decided to move its capital officially from Songdo to Hanyang, more widely known as Seoul. The former de facto capital, New Songdo, was a combination of Incheon and Seoul, and while the Emperor of Korea lived in the palaces of Seoul, much of the general administration of the country was conducted in the International City. This overall sprawling structure has been a drag on the government, and to put things in their right place, it has been decided by the people to move all government functions to Seoul. In addition, Seoul has been renamed Hanyang. This is because with the capital of the nation at Gaegyeong, "Seoul" could no longer be used since it meant "capital city" in Korean. With this in mind, the name of the city during the Joseon era, Hanyang, has been chosen by another vote. President Lee Myong-bak said "The old era of the Korean Empire is over. The Republic of Daehan needs to be reborn from the shadows of the old, and this change will be the right step in that direction."

Kankou
New Study Shows Manchu is Buyeo, not Tungusic A new study conducted in Hanyang University concluded that instead of the believed theory that the Manchu language is Tungusic, it is Buyeo. "When tracking down the history of the Manchu language, it turns out that it was originally a branch of the Goguryeo language, and became Tungisic when the tribes in manchuria were completely assimilated into the Mongolic tribes." said one of the researchers. This result would greatly affect the constitution, for the main reason Southern Tungusic had been defined as a citizen language was because of Manchu. It remains to be seen if there will be another amendment soon.

Kankou
First Commercial Electric Car Launched Hyundai today has launched its first commerical electric car, named "Parangon". Parangon has a compact body with an overall length of 3,585 mm, overall width of 1,595 mm and overall height of 1,540 mm. It be equipped with a highly efficient electric motor powered by two innovatice innovative 16.4 kWh LiPoly (lithium-ion polymer) battery grog that offers numerous advantages over other battery types. Parangon boasts a maximum power of 81ps(61kW) and maximum torque of 21.4kg/m(210Nm). As pure electric vehicles operate only with the battery and electric motor, the battery’s lifespan and storage capacity determines the vehicle’s performance. Hyundai chose LiPoly batteries because compared with previous nickel-metal hydride batteries (NiMH), LiPoly delivers the same power with 30 percent less weight and 40 percent less volume, boosting efficiency and leaving more interior space for passengers. Furthermore, the car has been designed to prevent overcharging and collision-related safety issues. Hyundai also conducted hundreds of thousands of kilometers’ worth of endurance testing to secure safety. Parangon boasts a maximum speed of 130km/h and 0-100 km/h be achieved in 13.1 seconds, better than some gasoline models in the same class. Parangon also features a Virtual Engine Sound System (VESS), which creates an artificial sound for the safety of pedestrians, as electric vehicles make little to no sound when driving at low speeds. Parangon can travel as much as 500 km on a single charge by interchainging between the two batteries. It also accommodates dual recharging methods: a 220V household power and a 380V industrial-strength power, which promises quick recharging speeds. Under the household power, the battery will be fully recharged within six hours. Under the quick charge method, the battery can be recharged to about 80 percent of its capacity within 25 minutes. Hyundai will collaborate with the Seoul Metropolitan Government and other government agencies to build recharging facilities. In addition, the engine-driven components were electrified so that the electric motor-driven power steering, electric water pump and regenerative brake system could be adapted to Parangon. Furthermore, for the driver’s convenience, an advanced telematics system showing the charge status and location of recharging stations be installed. A 4.2-inch TFT LCD Supervision Cluster that provides voice guidance has also been installed.

Kankou
Population Tops 100 million The population of Koryo has passed the 100 million mark, as a large flood of Japanese immigrants started settling from Transamur. This unexpected rise in population has caused much social problems as the existence of these “special permanent residents” are straining relations between the Damul Seongyang Hoe and the Buyeo Minjok Dang. A review of the Koryo Nationality is needed to understand the situation. Each Koryo citizen also needs to be registered as a citizen of one of the states. Should someone refuse to be a citizen of a state, that person is given a “special permanent resident” designation. Originally conceived to slowly assimilate a future citizen into Koryo, the sheer number of these residents has overloaded the confederal government. The reason why these Japanese have refused to become full citizens is that they wish to be “Yamato” citizens. Essentially, they wish to establish a separate Japanese state. Since by now almost 30% of the population is Japanese in Koryo, such a formation could lead to a possible destabilization of the current Korean supremacy. Currently the Damul Seongyang Hoe, bastion of Korean nationalism, is against, while the pan-nationalist Buyeo Minjok Dang supports the Japanese. It will be some time before anyone can see what will happen.
Kankou
Largest Miltiary Parade in Pyongyang The Brilliant Leader Kim Jong-Un took center stage during a the largest military parade in Korean history, clapping and saluting thousands of goose-stepping soldiers, and reviewing missiles, tanks and artillery rockets. Dressed in a dark blue civilian suit, Kim Jong-Un sat in the President's Seat on an observation platform at Kim Il-sung Plaza as tanks carrying rocket-propelled grenades and long-range missiles rolled by as part of celebrations marking the 1th anniversary of his rise to power. Among the guests at the parade, the biggest in the North in years, were Damul Seongyang Hoe officials from Daehan -- the militant Chosuns's major ally in its southern fellow state. The event was broadcast live on state TV, and foreign media were also invited to watch the parade which marked the 1st anniversary of the Brilliant Leader's rise to power and gave the world its first independent look at the protege. There were cheers and some tears from North Koreans attending the parade. "Kim Jong-Un! Protect him to the death!" "Kim Jong-Un, let's unite to support him!" they chanted as the young president walked the length of the platform. The parade was said to be the nation's largest ever, an impressive display of unity and military might for a country known for its elaborately staged performances. Thirty thousand troops from every branch of Chosun's 250 thousand-strong military, as well as from naval officers' academies and military nursing schools, goose-stepped around the plaza, dominated by a giant portrait of the state's founder, Kim Il-Sung. to the accompaniment of a brass band. Tanks and trucks loaded with Katyusha rocket launchers and grenades rolled past. They were dwarfed by the series of missiles that paraded by, each larger than the last and emblazoned with: "Defeat the imperialist military. Imperialists soldiers are the Chosun People's Army's enemy." A sea of red and pink flowers, waved by spectators, served as a backdrop to the show of power. Zoot Zoot
Very dramatic and egotistical. No man is greater than his peers for his peers make the man. All this talk of war and unification is war mongering at its best and brightest. Whilst it is of no concern to us in England, it might be time for Korea to wind its neck a little off the chopping block and concentrate more on making alliances and being diplomatic, as opposed to marching formations of soldiers through your cities and showing off your missiles to the world in a bid to seem mighty and powerful. However I must say your parade was impressive for its scale and choreography. Edited November 30, 2010 by Zoot Zoot

Leaky batteries, almost non-existent safety features, and a horrible efficiency explained the very cheap costs at which they were sold to Korea. Kankou
Diversification of Federal Government The Federal Government has announced that it shall be diversifying its offices throughout Greater Korea in order to encourage even development over the nation. After the nuclear attacks, most of the Federal Capital had been destroyed, although the core downtown area escaped without any damage. In the view that reconstruction would be more costly than its worth, the military and economic functions are to be moved out from Gaegyeong. The Federal Diet, Premier's Office, and the Imperial Palace will stay. The Greater Korean Central Bank, the economic headquarters of the Federation, is to be based in Hanywang and is tasked with setting and enforcing monetary policy among the member states of the Federation. The military capital, the Strategic Joint Command, will be located in Pyongyang and is responsible for coordinating defense and training of the militaries of all member states. The Greater Korean Federation is an economic and military alliance with the mission of growing the strength of the Korean nations through a united monetary policy and a central military command. Given the splintering of identities that long-term separation had developed, the federation is considered the best form of government to encourage and develop the diverse aspects of the Korean nations, combining strengths and lessening weaknesses.
