In face of a lack of success in soccer (the other main sport), more and more Basque people have turned on their TV or made it to arenas in order to watch fledgling players battle for a puck across the ice. The success was such that we have decided to found the International Ice Hockey Federation and we are now hosting the first ever World Championship, to take place in the Basque Republic this summer.
