Maelstrom Vortex
The ban on pre-emptive warfare shall not be lifted. If any ally comes under distress, we shall rally to their call. The treaty now has two signatories, to make any modifications the modification article must be followed. Hepzibah3
Unfortunately, Mr Fernandes hand has been forced. Harramlar will NOT sign this treaty. We will NOT allow other states to build up Armies and Navies and Air Forces in preparation to hurt OUR people with them and simply do nothing. We will NOT sit on our hands. We will NOT sign this treaty.

Maelstrom Vortex
Do not worry, just because you do not qualify for this treaty doesn't mean you cannot be our friends still.
zzzptm
Himynamistan will sign this. We disavow wars of aggression. Being signatory to this treaty will solidify our stance on aggressive wars and will in no way limit our sovereignty in any way we do not already limit it. Germanic Republic
The FRA inquires as to whether the treaty acronym is a slap in the face to secularism and secular government, or is simply meant for it's aesthetic sound, or what other reason was this name decided? We do not mean to distract from the actual content of it, it's just a little unsettling. We wish the signatories well, of course.
Maelstrom Vortex
"It is not a slap at Secularism for the U.S. is a secular country. However, the bulk of the citizens in this nation respect a higher power as do the bulk of persons upon the Earth in some form or other. In most religions it is thought that their God is benevolent, loving, and peaceful. That said, the name is meant to invoke the spirit of the treaty, that peace and the uplifting of the individual is the will of whatever higher power(s) govern this Earth. The name is Aesthetic and Philosophical in nature. The U.S. does not believe government and religion can be peacefully merged as it is simply to much power in one entity's hand." Caudill observed. Germanic Republic
We understand the intent now, and applaud it. Given a majority of our nation doesn't believe in a higher power, you certainly can understand why we were wondering if this was a resurgence in religiosity in neighboring governments or something more innocent than that. Thank you for your response, and good luck with GODSWILL. Edited June 14, 2010 by Germanic Republic
Maelstrom Vortex
"The Federal Republic of America, if it meets the treaty requirements of GODSWILL is also welcome to join the ranks of the rising membership. Otto Verteidiger
Abandon your sovereignty and your right to create national policies without limitations, possible alignment with countries you do not want to be aligned with, and posing yourself aggressively to governments who are not democracies, republics, and constitutional monarchies. Amerikanisches Reich hopes to see no true interest in this treaty take place in the international community. We are glad to see nations against it already. zzzptm
It is a defensive treaty with trade protocols, no more. All the same, Himynamistan is sworn to defend itself and its neighbors from aggression. We stand for peace through strength and national self-determination for all peoples. Maelstrom Vortex
If the members of this treaty pledge to abide by the principles of this treaty, we have no reason to deny them our best efforts in their defense should they be attacked. Thus it is impossible for us to accidentally align ourselves with those we seek not to align with. The only people who have to fear this treaty are those who have ill intent against its members. Maelstrom Vortex
ooc: Sorry, we just get one KC, has to work that way. Simply upping the vote count per nation due to mergers would result in absurd complexities if the U.S. were to grow somehow. ic: In order to proceed with the application process we need to know the rough formation of government of United Isoceles. Namely, how are your officials appointed? What kind of government? We must confirm you comply with treaty requirements.
