So...the World Cup starts in just a few days and over on the [url="http://www.mcxa-cross.com"]MCXA forums[/url] I started a poll asking which two teams would come top in each group.Then I wondered what if you replaced the national teams with CN alliances,according to their respective rankings, and replaced the football matches with 1-1 wars. So the question I am putting to you today...below are the groups how they would be if national teams were replaced with CN alliances (as ranked at the time of posting).Choose the two alliances you think would come at the top of each group and then post them in this thread.Treaties and declarations of neutrality don't count it is simply Alliance A vs Alliance B. I don't know IAA's military capabilities that well, although they do have diplomatic abilities and Laura ) Group C: FOK, FAN Group D: RIA, STA (WTF may have the numbers, but lack of experience, wonders, tenacity, and will to even get involved would doom then) Group E: Polar and NEW (tough group) Group F: Nordreich, Sparta (on "goal differential" over =LOST=) Group G: MHA, Athens Group H: Group of death indeed. NPO and IRON, though. (NSO out on goal diff alone) [hr] Now for a twist. If you had alliance selects teams [i]of[/i] each alliance in this 16-team tournament: [u]Group A[/u] Legion - their football program is stellar R&R [u]Group B[/u] TOOL - Sure, we don't really deserve first because only three TOOL nations are world-class at the Beautiful Game (Uralica, Irlande, and Willems Nation), but those three nations have some scary-good players. VE - I seem to recall one or two of their nations being pretty solid competitors in international competition as well. [u]Group C[/u] FOK - They're Dutch, for crying out loud! GLOF - I remember my GLOF opponents from the 2009 Alliance Cup. They were p. good. [u]Group D[/u] STA - Bamburgh. 'Nuff said. UPN - It would be ridiculously close between three relative unknowns in CN football, but I think UPN would come out on top here. I could be wrong though. [u]Group E[/u] NpO - they did okay in the 2009 Alliance Cup. Except against TOOL nations. NEW - probably because I don't think either TPF or Ragnarok give two craps about association football [u]Group F[/u] Nordreich GOONS [u]Group G[/u] Athens - Athens plays good football, I'll give them this much. MHA - simply because they have a larger talent pool than Iunctus or GPA. They wouldn't make it by much though. I think an MHA Selects vs. GPA Selects match would be classic. [u]Group H[/u] IRON - my favourite to win the whole thing. NSO - Sith tenacity. I must protest at the omission of good footballing alliances from this list. [/quote] He probably used this list http://www.fifa.com/worldfootball/ranking/lastranking/gender=m/fullranking.html and switched the teams with CN alliances according to their position. That explains why, for example, MK is not in here, since MK would = Croatia, who was upset and didn't make it to the World Cup. Likewise, ODN would be Russia.
