NATO talks.

The United States hereby invites all the nations of North America and Europe with an oceanic border to the Atlantic or North Sea to convene in Washington D.C. at the diplomatic center on embassy row to discuss the potential formation of NATO as a means for enhancing defense and trade for all such states.

Caudill nodded to them. His hands were folded on his desk, his elbows on them, his nose was lightly resting atop his folded hands.. he seemed deep in thought about things. Perhaps it was the live feeds he had in his monitors of the events going on a few hundred miles away on the borders with Coruscanta and the Great Lakes Provinces. The table was all glass, below it sat computer terminals that faced upright and keyboards at lap level that gave the heads of state access to a variety of tools ranging from secure internet to real time news. Touching the table itself would indicate the surface was a touch-screen for the monitors below. No mouse required although one was also available next to the keyboard.

Prime Minister Peter Wallace of the Republic of Labrador entered into the conference area and allowed the attendants to seat him at the table.

A rather plain looking Diplomat, Malte Wallin, stepped cautiously into the room, flanked on either side by two other diplomats. He sat down slowly, and pulled a computer from his briefcase.

He said nothing, but the deal emblazoned on the back of his computer made it clear he was from Norway-Sweden.

Etain Connolly and her second took their places at the table and waited for the others to arrive. Not much was expected from these talks, seeing as similar cross ocean agreements of such a scale had collapsed quickly. However, given the access of Taeunas ports to both the Atlantic and the rest of Europe, they had nothing to lose by increased trade.

Considering Athens did not have access to either the North Sea or the Atlantic directly intelligence agencies would monitor events but no diplomatic dispatch was made.

Icarus Bryant, arriving by way of J Andres since there were no direct flights between the USA and the Republic of York, arrived. He anticipated little would be accomplished, but it was important to at least show oneself at such meetings.

OOC: While it is the Med is considered to be separate from the Atlantic and thus the original invitation is suggesting nations at the Med are excluded.
