Colorado Votes

"I'm Wolf Blizer and you're watching the Situation Room. Early results from the polls for the fate of Colorado are now being collected, and though the vote is registered to run for 2 weeks to ensure every citizen's votes are tallied and the vote is fair, it appears right now that with most of the votes in there is an early lead in the Coalition Protectorate choice category. We will continue to monitor the situation closely, but it seems the people of Colorado are unexpectedly leaning towards not rejoining the old United States, but to rather stay under the protective shield of the Coalition Aegis." In the background behind Wolf images of Colorado voters placing their votes at the booths could be seen.

Diplomatic Faux Pas

"In other news, William Caudill is taking heavy flack by members of the Democratic Party, who say he was to aggressive in coming to the assistance of former Tahoan states, resulting in multiple nations around the world walking away from some fairly important defense treaties. Whether or not he had good intentions, it is clear that the humanitarian and civil relief efforts have been interpreted as anything but peaceful by the United States of America's peers. Despite NAP day giving the President a significant boost in his polls, the recent incidents have taken him well below a 50% approval rating." In the background behind Wolf images shown of a map with Colorado highlighted in blue.

War in Corsucanta, GAS ATTACK!

"At this time U.S. forces in Michigan are at DEFCON 1, and MOPP 4 after a recent attack by Coruscanta on their Neighbor the GLP using Sarin Nerve Gasses. Reportedly the detection occurred aboard a patrolling predator drone with an on-board chemical weapons detection lab. The Drone, in position to actually provide recon on the GLP instead detected the attack by Coruscanta, which has ironically lead the United States to take the sides of an adversary against a greater threat. Airforces in the area immediately commenced the bombardment of domestic infrastructure in Coruscanta and the President has declared a state of Limited-War in which the focus will be to reduce or optimally eliminate the capacity of Coruscanta to deliver and produce additional chemical weapons attacks." The bio hazard symbol was on the screen behind Wolf as he gave the report.

U.S. Announces destruction plan for all biological and lethal gaseous chemical warfare agents.

The U.S. in its push for a safer, more humane, and peaceful world has announced today it will begin to decommission and destroy all biological and gaseous chemical warfare agents. They could not say they would eliminate liquid chemical warfare agents, because it is possible to consider incendiaries such as Napalm a liquid agent of chemical warfare. However, the destructive gaseous types such as Sarin, VX gas, are being effectively disowned as inhumane weapons of mass destruction causing more suffering than necessary to fulfill their purposes and which have equally effective replacements. This is a unilateral action requiring no prompting by the global community.

Secretary of Defense, James Studabaker, made this summary statement, "The weapons in question are dangerous to handle. They have high maintenance costs and require specialized skills to utilize. There are cheaper, more effective, and genuinely safer alternatives. That said the Joint Chiefs and I have made the decision to recycle and scrap the stockpile. Labs across the country both private and government are being contacted to determine if any can break down and make use of the molecular components of the compounds in question so as to make the disposal more tax-payer friendly."

"If indeed this is true, it should go a long way to lessening the recen international backlassh against the US for its controversial actions, and is another step towards fulfilling its own self-proclaimed goals of working toward peace and prosperity, rather than war."

Private to CNN/FOX

A message was sent to CCN and FOX news from the Imperium of Canada from the Government with the following statement to the press.

One of your aircraft had crossed into Foundation airspace during a live fire exercise and had unfortunally been destroyed. It should be noted that the Foundation accepted no responsibility for the loss of life and expect the Imperium to keep its spy aircraft away from Foundation space from now on.
Message from the Romonov Federation to the Imperium of Canada

The Aircraft in question was an AWACS Jet on Patrol within International waters in the South Atlantic/Pacific area when a mayday message was received by International Command Authority from he stricken jet as it tried to shake of Nine federation missiles.

CNN - The Situation Room

Wolf Blitzer greeted the audience, "At this hour U.S. authorities are looking into reports that an Imperium of Canada AWACs on patrol in international waters in the South Atlantic/Pacific regions were shot down by Romanov Federation by Surface to Air or Air to Air missiles. At this time, no solid leads have been found on what caused the apparent accident and both sides are disavowing responsibility. The Imperium of Canada has called for international support on a Declaration of War against the Romanov Federation. At this time, representatives of the U.S. Government have declined any comment as their investigation is under way. Only President Caudill has spoken out on the issue, calling for cool heads on the mater, stating that if it is truly an accident then any further loss of life that may result from an unnecessarily harsh reaction would be completely unjustified. When we return from our commercial break, 'The Venturestar Project' is it really worth the cost? Should we be selling out our space program to the Germans? We'll have several political and technical analysts to break down the pro's and cons on a 'Space Panel'."

FOX - Washington Bureau

Glen Beck cut into the issue on his broadcast, "And now for the whole Romanov Federation situation. Does anyone but me think it's wrong that these guys.. I mean.. they clearly vigorously defend their airspace.. but couldn't have given at least a warning shot? It's a clear provocation against the Imperium Canadians. Caudill should be supporting these guys. I mean, have God's will temporarily suspend the pre-emptive war articles and go in and give the Romanov's a lesson in providing discipline for your own Military. I mean, surely if they had any sort of friendly-fire prevention training this never would have occured.. and the Romanovs.. what jerks.. they simply say, 'Sorry for your loss. You just shouldn't have had a plane in the air there.' IT'S INTERNATIONAL AIRSPACE YOU WACKOS!"

MSNBC - Chicago

Rachael Maddow weighed in on the situation, "Clearly the President has made the right decision. We have no idea what happened yet and it'd be rushing into the situation blindly if we tried to take a stance now. Besides, the Imperium of Canada's own past actions could be called into question in this matter. This could be.. a sort of a intentional Lusitania situation. It's no secret they're really into their military and everyone knows what happens when you think you need a lot of guns. You later get the big idea.. you need to use them."

MSNBC (Rachel Maddows) - The U.S. has begun testing on its newest anti-ballistic missile innovation as part of plans to ramp up a multi-stage SDI system which includes a combination of energy and kinetic intercept instruments. The first part of the system is to be the laser defense web, which will consist of an ABM laser net on a variety of vehicles from jumbo jets to possibly.. one of the versions of the Venture Star space plane which should be able to shoot missiles down at apogee. The second stage of the system is to be a kinetic kill vehicle delivered via missile upon re-entry. Projected kill rates are to be around 60% effectiveness when the two are combined. The system is still in testing and an operational version of it is not expected to be commissioned for 2 more years.

The numbers are in and we are seeing a great turnout in the New Jersey election. Jay Webber has taken the seat for Governor, with Ms. Lynda A. Pagliughi leading the assembly along with 5 other GOP members. The state government has decided that it will be concentrating alot of its time on education, creating the New Jersey Young Republicans Federation. The Governor has also put the state into lockdown as the civil war comes closer to home. Webber stated,

"New Jersey will be making a new face for itself, outside of the guido persona. We shall start by uniting against these untrustworthy fools and remove them as a threat once and for all."

Senator Frank Lautenberg appeared before the press today to address several issues within the nation and what he feels is the correct course of action.

"Recently, we have found ourselves losing relations, losing respect, and losing the patriotic attitude that unites us under our flag. I stand before you today to say that this will no longer be the case. From this point on, Democrat, Republican, it does not matter. We will be uniting on the issues that bring the war at home to a close and to thank those properly who stood with us when we were falling. For their acts of kindness in helping us in our cause, we shall be seeking relations with those who bravely made their way to our shores in our defense. In these relations, we will do all we can to repay them. China has stood with us, and although they saw us falling apart, they still were there. We hold no ill will towards them, but we will be doing what we can to repair that bridge.

God Bless America."

With the war dying down, concerns for the actions taken to achieve the surrender have reached the publics concern. They fear torture and new cases of waterboarding have been found. While the government continues to deny any such action taken during the length of this war, the public has already spoken in the polls. To ease the stress, Senator Lautenberg will be presenting a new bill to the floor following the resolution of the war.
