Bacharth
Portland, Oregon, Pioneer Courhouse Square A crowd had gathered in downtown Portland, awaiting the arrival of Chris Bogart and his platoon of Distopyan Special Forces. Around noon, a lone Dodge truck, followed by a few APCs rolled down Morrison Street, and the crowd began to cheer. The convoy stopped, and Chris was escorted by a squad of special guerrilla forces. "Former Tahoans, welcome to the Republic of Cascadia. I know a lot of you will take some time getting used to the way we Distopyans do things, but rest assured that we won't bug you while you're getting used to us. In fact, you'll notice that you will have more liberties than you did before. I don't like Police states. I hate them. Hell, just walking around with guys in uniforms makes me nervous, and it's probably because of my dealings with the cops. The first time I ever dealt with an SS officer was right over there, right outside of Nordstroms. I got hassled because I smelled like weed, which I did, so they thought I had some, which I did. I had learned how to hide weed effectively, thanks to Marc Emery, who is now the proud owner of the first Cascadian business, Distopyan Dank. "Now, friends, don't look at me as your liberator. I only planned my attacks. Instead, look to the soldiers of the many nations that helped secure your freedom. I am declaring the states of Washington, Oregon and Idaho to be the core of Cascadia, while half of British Columbia, and a small portion of Montana to be regions added on. "As for Crimea, as acting Distopyan Alpha, I will declare Crimea a province of the Slavic Federation "It won't be an easy task uniting us. There are still Tahoan troops waiting in the shadows to strike, so you will still see an increased police presence, and military grade rifles will be banned from use while we are still securing this land. For now, I declare you all Cascadian citizens, and soon, we'll have our first elections. So, party, the pot is on us!" Chris rose the Cascadian flag high above Pioneer Courthouse Square as soldiers passed out freshly rolled joints to the crowd. Maelstrom Vortex
The United States strongly greets this new democratic nation with its many liberties to North America and wish it well. With citizens with ancestry in the old United States, we have strong interests in securing ties with your nation and creating as close of a bond as possible over time, especially if your strongly progressive domestic policies continue. Please send a diplomat at once, and we'll have an embassy warmed up and waiting for you if you're willing to send a team. We love you! Sarah Tintagyl
"With the collapse of the great American power we can do nothing more than welcome the next generation of American states. To Cascadia, France sends her warmest greetings in the hopes that someday our paths will cross diplomatically. Welcome to the world." -Therese Zelle
Bacharth
Statement from President Bogart: "Thank you for your recognition, we extend an invitation to visit Portland some time. It's as smokey as any big city, but the industry isn't what causes it." Message to the United States: "You will excuse us if we take a while in setting up government offices, we have very limited resources, and need to do a mass election very soon." Subtleknifewielder
A short note was sent to Bogart from the Australian foreign ministry, congratulating him and wishing him luck, as well as recognizing the new nation under his leadership. It was signed by the Queen herself, and accompanied by a ceremonial, jewelled dagger.
Bacharth
The remaining three armies were shipped to Cascadia from Florida. The fourth army was placed along the Cascadian border, while the fifth army was placed in areas where they could quickly defend the border. The Accepted borders of Cascadia is this:

Bacharth
The Warpath The Distopyan, now Cascadian armies had now been ordered to go on the defensive, looking for signs of their own tactics being used against them. They were fighting a bloody guerrilla war, and they knew it. The Cascades had been an easy task, seeing as Distopyan soldiers were already there, so taking Portland and Seattle were a breeze. The next step was a war in the plains of Central Oregon and Washington. The Border regions, having been patrolled by air before hand, had troops stationed on them to catch anyone trying to leave the country that was labeled as a war criminal by the Coalition. Troops had also been stationed in Spokane and Boise, two big cities that, to the Cascadians, were important to have.
