Sargun II
Kuutsmil refuses to recognize the moves made by the United States and officially condemns them; in addition, we call on members of the Coalition to force the United States back as allowing them to gobble up land will only lead to another Tahoe. Maelstrom Vortex
The people of Colorado will be given the opportunity to decide their destiny. We are ashamed of all of our allies who have demonstrated such little trust and faith in us and apparently abandoned us over this issue before any such future can be determined. It has made it clear to us that despite our better intent that the world is full of paranoia. The Referendum in Colorado has begun, international observers are welcome. We're about to prove all the treaty jumpers and nay-sayers wrong. We are not a second Tahoe. We do not abuse our peoples. We do not forcibly subjugate them. WE serve THEM. Maelstrom Vortex
We welcome all doubters to Colorado to see the vote as it unfolds. It is estimated to take 1-2 weeks to get a clear tally because of the slight disorganization in the territory and we want to get at least a 75% tally on public opinion. We're sending census workers door to door with this poll to make sure no one is missed. This vote is that important. All treaties requested to be annulled have been annulled. We waive the waiting time as we wish to keep no state enslaved to obligations they have no intentions on keeping. Jordosaur94
We will not embargo the US, instead, we wish to point out that the Anti-Tahoe Alliance is gobbling up former Tahoe territory and protectorates as WELL as the United States. This sounds hypocritical to us, doesn't it, condemning the US for claiming Colorado while acquiring territory from Tahoe. If this was Imperialism, then the Anti-Tahoe Alliance would be Imperialists for seizing territory.

Maelstrom Vortex
We are not repeating them. Everyone has decided to jump the gun before we can even do anything about Colorado and pass judgment without seeing the outcome of our occupation. The will of the people will be preserved. As for the Coalition. What they do is their business, we are not sticking our proverbial beaks in that. Maelstrom Vortex
The Dominican vote counting crew is welcomed and made as comfortable as can be in the hot, stuffy ballot counting rooms which buzz with human activity from the vote count. They are set at a table where boxes of votes are brought to them to be tallied after the American/Colorado joint counting crews finish their tallies. The tallies are compared and checked for inaccuracies after each set with the Dominican crew to ensure all votes are verified. zzzptm
Does the United States of America intend to occupy any further areas of the former Tahoe Republic?
Maelstrom Vortex
Umm.. we never intend to occupy any of them for the long term save possibly Colorado states and any others that demonstrated a vested interest in joining the Republic. Everyone else assumed that. Our operation was peace-keeping and relief. We may also be liberating Colorado shortly.. the votes are coming in. They appear to want either total liberation or other protectors so we're going to see how the tally comes out at the end of the coming week (real time). Michael McBride
MEDIACORP WORLD NEWS EXCLUSIVE The United States of America (USA) has officially declared their recognition of a state of anarchy in the Tahoe Republic, though numerous sources tell MediaCorp World News (MWN) that the government is still, in fact, effective and governing the populace. MediaCorp reporters in the Republic throughout the war have said that support for the government remains exceptionally high throughout the Republic, where the populous sees the attacks by numerous nations as unjustified and opportunistic. Straw polls conducted immediately after the announcement by the USA found the populous in overwhelming opposition to the USA's stance, both morally and politically. It hasn't just been domestic reaction that has been outraged at the USA. Numerous nations around the world have announced embargoes on goods coming to or from the USA, and the Athenian Federation and the Slavic Federation have both canceled treaties with the USA, an ODP and MDoAP respectively. Louisiana, another MDoAP partner of the USA has also had harsh words for their ally, as has continental power to the south the Holy American Emperium. Alone so far in their support of the USA has been J Andres, who has announced they will increase their buying of goods from and selling of goods to the USA two to threefold. Reactions at home from the Republic of York leadership has been surprisingly muted. The only communication from the Department of State concerning the recent actions was that the border with the USA remains closed and that the existing embargo on all goods remains in place. There have been rumblings that the government is considering closing the border with J Andres as well in light of their outspoken support of the USA, but that remains to be seen as of publishing. Stay with MediaCorp World News, your source for breaking news on the North American continent and around the world.
zzzptm
You seem to be presenting the annexation of Colorado as a fait accompli. I have no doubt how the voting will proceed.Perhaps I should ask a different question: How many other parts of old Tahoe does the USA plan to hold votes in? JEDCJT
"The J Andres Government expresses concerns that the Government of York is considering closing the border between the two countries. We hope that will not become the case, for we strive for friendly relations with York."
Maelstrom Vortex
At this time the Coalition has taken all other parts of the Tahoe Republic under their protectorate shield. We are only responsible at this time for the actions in Colorado and we're investigating their wishes on how to proceed. Unfortunately the same option has not been given to other former territories of Tahoe. The occupation of Colorado is not a Fait Accompli until the People of Colorado demonstrate a will to join the United States, if they do not, that is their wishes, and they will be observed. To become a member of the United States, the State must Ratify the Constitution of the United States and then the adoption of the State must be ratified by Congress. If either of these fail, the state is on its own in the form of existence it has chosen for itself.
