Triyun
With the slash and burn tactics employed by the Articuno Islands, the USC is dealing with its own major man made disaster, otherwise we'd offer surplus food and other aid. However it can and does offers its airfields to international relief flights and shall dispatch a medical ship to the region and shall open its coastal hospitals too any victims which are in critical condition and cannot be cared for in the Minilla Islands due to overcrowding. Minilla Island
A STATEMENT FROM HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS, KING RAYMOND II
My fellow Islanders, over the last 16 hours, our nation has been hit with a tragedy of incalculable proportions. Just before 5 this morning, a volcanic eruption happened on Anak Krakitau Island in the Sunda Strait. The eruption destroyed part of the mountain base that the volcano sat upon. Two hours later, another eruption occurred. This eruption was the most fierce in recent memory. It also caught this Nation off her guard. Though this is not an excuse, rest assured that we are doing everything that can be done under the circumstances to relieve the pressure from the local and Provincial governments. At the present time, a full State of Emergency is in effect for Sumatra and Western Java. All Military-Class personnel are to report for duty. All Pass Days are canceled in the face of the current challenge, and orders will be given to you when you report at your reporting locations. In the meantime, we are getting reports of the devastation in Eastern Sumatra and in Banten Province on Java. The City of Jet Jaguar is under full Martial Law. All looters shall be shot on sight, and street executions will be carried out. Relief trucks and trains are on the way from the eastern part of Java Island. If you are watching or listening to this broadcast, please wait for the trucks. As for shipping within the Strait, the Strait is being blockaded by the Royal Navy and the Coastal Patrol. We can confirm the sinking of the HMS Chessie. Our Navy is still searching for survivors. In the wake of this, All Military Corvettes and Cutters are banned from the Strait until further notice. We also have reports of several ships being destroyed. We are desperately trying to search for survivors at this time. However, with the constant instability, search has been difficult. Due to the ash in the air, all air traffic has been halted. The Royal Navy will attempt a copter survey within the next few hours if conditions allow it. We have received offers of aid and assistance in regard to this tragedy. For that, we are grateful. At the present time, we need to ensure that all rescue efforts do not involve rescuing the rescuers. In the meantime, the lines of communication will remain open, as many nations have been affected by this tragedy. In closing, we shall rise to the challenge at hand. We shall, as we always have, prevail. The Royal Republic will do everything in its power to alleviate the suffering in the Sunda Stait area, and to do so to the best of its ability. To that end, we will opening a T2-backed database that will be constantly updated on shipping and land casualties as a result of this disaster. Thank you, God Bless You, and may God Bless the Royal Republic.
