With a total of Zero invitations to talks or Conferences that go on in the World, El Presidente has yet to garner the attention that he feels our People Deserve. "Our funky people need to be on the international scene, yo. Listen, with foreign trade and visitation, people can see just how crazy cool we all are" He was quoted on saying earlier in an Interview. *Emilio then camera shifts so that now he is in the center of his desk* And Speaking of Foreign Trade, The Republic continues to have Economic problems as The Foreign Ministry and the Administration continue to struggle in attracting trade to Puerto Rico. At present our Economic situation remains stable and profitable, but for how long? With a National Budget soon on the way and what seems to be mass nation building planned for our future, will our nation go into serious debt? ((ooc: still have only 3 trades :\))

"We will not send troops or in anyway aid either side in winning their conflict; we're just too tiny of a power to do that. However, we can open our doors and our hearts to those whose live are destroyed by the conflict, and are willing to take in any who are fleeing the conflict" El Presidente said in a passionate speech about the issue. "It's really the Funky thing to do" he added with tears in his eyes

The Disco Commandant
Communist Party Rallies; Strong Words Spoken With the recent freak Hurricane having wreaked unholy wrath upon our coast, The Funky Republic has been forced to begin a series of relief efforts across the nation. With assets from Mother Mainland, Holy American Empire and our own Department of Internal State, with serious investment from 6 of the Major Private businesses in the country, relief efforts are going smoothly. Food and Water and Medical Stations are well supplied and there have been no incidents of violence. In fact, many Party National Committee's are donating money to the cause of relief, undoubtedly seeking to garner votes in the next election, and of course in the spirit of national identity and salvation. However, not everyone is participating in relief efforts. Communist Party Rallies have formed all across the country in opposition to Government involvement in the Relief efforts, as well as the relief aid sent from Mother Mainland. "This overreach of Government Power is abhorrent...and stuff" Party Leader Carlos Arigonlez, 22, recently released from jail on bail for possession, use and illegal sale of Marijuana, said at a rally on the San Juan University Campus during a rally attended only by Communist Party members (roughly a third of the campus students). "If this nation would wake up and convert to our ways, cuz we're communists, right? Then everything will be better, cuz there wouldn't be a government, and everyone will be equal, and everything would be run by the people, and there won't be rich corporate leaders or corrupt government members making decisions for us" He told to a cheering crowd of tie-die t-shirts, colored beanies, and long beards. Carlos has vowed that the Communist Party will take action against this outrage, though he was unusually vague as to how and gave no specified time-table as to when. "When we are ready" he said to the crowd after much contemplation, on stage. Central Republican Party members had no comment, merely shaking their heads and occasionally muttering something along the lines of "...damn hippie kids". El Presidente, de facto head of the Central Republican Party, had only this to say on the rallies. " The Communist Party has shown themselves to be unfunky, and very unhelpful in a time of crisis and need amongst the people of the Republic. I don't even think much can be said, and the unpatriotic actions and activities of this party is self-evident. I feel i shouldn't even have to comment"
