Markus Wilding
General order 109: OPERATION AIRWOLF is in effect, 501st. All lethal ammunition will be replaced with Simunition later today, for now report to the south side of the sea defenses for your missions. Divide into three groups, divided into squad regiments. No mercy on any sides, total accomplishment of objectives is required, by the order of Xarles Cloutier.
As soon as the order was issued, the men assembled on their sea defenses, overlooking the American-controlled Michigan. "Men, this is training of what may be to come. If your performance here is a reflection of your skills in combat, then we will be able to go ahead with plans. Assemble into your groups and squads, and your C.O's will assign you to your missions."
Markus Wilding
Facing the lake separating Coruscanta and the U.S, the 501st set up into three squads on each side, one "defending" and one "attacking". Armed with Simunition, one team would attempt to assault the sea defenses and take an important strategic bunker. This bunker contains most of the more powerful defenses including a 88mm anti-tank cannon. After this objective is secured, the attackers must defend their new stronghold from attacks from three sides while attempting to assault their next objective: anti-air defenses that are slowing down their simulated air attack. They must also, but are not required to, assault and capture a nearby ammo dump to cut off the defenders from vital supplies. The defenders must stop all of this from happening and push the attacking team out to sea.
Maelstrom Vortex
An American observation plane is seen flying over the lakes. The Americans are obviously curious as to what all the hub-bub is in the waterways.
Markus Wilding
Squad Able is sent to begin the initial assault on the left-hand side - a side the defenders have not covered, foolishly enough. Squad Bravo flanks to the right and Squad Charlie rushes down the center - a tactic called "Mass Assault" by the 501st. Instantly LMGs open fire on the squads and already men are called as "out" as the attack begins. As the slow ascension begins, the machine guns stop firing and instead small arms fire fills the air instead. The hill is taken, Squads Able and Charlie assault the bunker as Squads Delta and Echo retreat from the bunker, regrouping for their counterattack. Squad Bravo begins redirecting their attack to the anti-air defenses, intent on stopping the guns from "downing" any more aircraft. Squad Fox continues to defend their bunker, not giving up a single inch of it to the attackers, while at the same time buying Delta and Echo time to form a plan. Markus Wilding
Slowly, the attackers begin securing their objectives. The bunker is taken, successfully defended from incoming attacks. The AA guns fall silent and now the 501st begin moving to secure the ammo dump. Squads Golf, Hotel and Zulu, despite having taken heavy losses, set up and prepare for the final defense of the stronghold. As the enemy draws ever closer, snipers begin picking off stragglers and LMGs again open fire, while losses are maintained evenly on both sides. Markus Wilding
As Squads Alpha, Bravo and Charlie charge, the defenders now know fully well that what is left of their defense will be shattered. Assault after assault wears down Golf, Hotel and Zulu as the attackers take the ammo dump. Despite having the high ground and more ammunition, they are eventually overwhelmed and the ammo dump is taken. The operation is finished in less than a day.
