hawk11
Jacob Goldstein was on the verge of something big. The man, formerly a master reporter in the Elective Dictatorship of Palintine, had been very busy since the fall of the east Asian nation, and it was finally going to pay off. Of course, an outside observer would think it already paid off for the multi-billion dollar wine tycoon. After the fall of Palintine, most of the nation's assets were available for purchase, and through some shrewd buying and selling, Mr. Goldstein found himself in control of mostly all of the rice wine production in the former nation of Palintine; the looser restrictions on business practices in the new nation of the United States of China allowed the industry to flourish like it never could under the previous administration, and Mr. Goldstein became a very wealthy man. His was now a life of fast cars, grand parties, and easy living, but this never satisfied him. Since he was a young man, Jacob Goldstein dreamed of being a successful newspaper editor. He wanted to bring about the truth through journalism on a world stage, and it was becoming apparently to Goldstein that though he was rich and successful, he wasn't living to what he viewed as a fulfilling life. He decided to devote his funds to fulfilling his dream. During his time and soul-searching, he moved to the Middle East. He soon fell in love with the area and its rich history, and began the process of becoming a citizen in Rebel Army. Having accomplished that, he now sought to establish his newspaper. Of course, with the amount of money he now had, it would be foolish to limit himself to just one newspaper. He began by buying the Baghdad Tribune, a large newspaper based in its namesake. From there, he began buying other local papers, and soon he had a small, unassuming media empire under his control in Rebel Army. It wasn't enough though. Jacob started to dream big. His press empire was nice and living up to his expectations, but none of it was actually his. They were started by other people; he merely adopted them. He decided to establish an international news organization, just like that.
Establishment of the Rebel Army Broadcasting Network (RABN) BAGHDAD - Today, Jacob Goldstein, international wine tycoon and media network owner, announced today the establishment of the Rebel Army Broadcasting Network (RABN). The RABN is composed of twenty newspapers within Rebel Army as well as two satellite news channels. Mr. Goldstein has announced that the RABN will begin international reporting and broadcasting starting next quarter, and it plans to expand to five satellite channels. It also opened a 24-hour news website, which promises to bring international coverage around the clock. Its international headquarters is located in Baghdad, Rebel Army, and it plans to expand to other international locations.
(Nations seeking to offer a location for the RABN should post so in this thread.) Lavo
All throughout the RA media network, the establishment of the RABN was unprecedented, and sent shock waves throughout. The New Rebel Post, the other large media conglomerate in the RA, was following the developments extensively, keeping an eye on it's new rival. With the announcement of RABN, subscriptions to their various media outlets sky rocketed. And so, a new media tycoon has arisen. OOC: Yes, I did okay this before you ask. And no, hawk is not RPing a nation or something like that, just some citizens of mine being news people.

hawk11
The RABN accepts these locations. With the strong international support, the RABN's stock has increased greatly on the international market, allowing for it to buy locations in Rebel Army Korea and Ecuador. The Rebel Army News Network now has locations on at least three continents, several in Asia.
Lavo
Possibly in response to the growth of RABN, the New Rebel Post has bought out a handful of news networks in Korea and Ecuador. While it seems the NRP has secured much of the RA audience, as expected by most experts, it is trailing behind in international ratings. Thanks to this, RABN has overnight grown from a simple RA media conglomerate to one of, if not the, largest media cooperation in the world.
