In the wake of destruction, life will rise out of ashes. It is my honor to announce a new alliance that will join the ever increasing ranks of Planet Bob. Sol, an alliance built by veteran and returning players, seeks a place in this volatile landscape. We bring a fresh, renewed interest in global politics, and hope to foster relations with each of you over the coming days.

At this time, we'd like to announce our charter, government, and a ProtectoRIte we've signed.

[b]I. Preamble[/b]

A home for lost souls, we the people of Sol do hereby form a united alliance for the protection and advancement of our individually respect nations. We jointly commit to form a strong, honorable brotherhood in the Cyberverse.

[b]II. Admission and Secession[/b]

Any nation belonging to any team color will be considered for membership in Sol provided said nation does not belong to any other alliances concurrently. All potential new member nations are required to submit an application for admission. Once a nation is declared a member of Sol, it is forbidden to join any additional alliance under threat of expulsion. This includes having multiple Nations in another alliance. Any member of Sol may secede their individual nation from this alliance if they so choose. In the event of a serious transgression between nations, a nation to be removed from membership in Sol.

[b]III. The Governing Body[/b]

[i]Inner Sanctum[/i]

The Inner Sanctum is composed of three highly qualified individuals. They are appointed for life terms. Each member holds authority over a certain aspect of Sol. They will lead the Military, Foreign Affairs, and Internal Affairs divisions. The Inner Sanctum shall decide what course of action to take for the well-being of the alliance. They shall present their course to the Outer Sanctum for further discussion and ratification by means of a simple majority vote by the Outer Sanctum.

Should one resign, the Sanctum will choose a successor. With a majority vote of approval from the membership, the Inner Sanctum member will take office.

Should the membership feel an Inner Sanctum member is no longer qualified to lead them, they can initiate a no-confidence vote. With a 70% vote of approval from the membership, the Inner Sanctum member will be replaced by the Sanctum.

[i]Outer Sanctum[/i]

The Outer Sanctum is composed of four qualified individuals representing the general membership in the Sanctum. They are elected every two months by a majority vote of the alliance membership. All members who have served Sol for over a period of thirty days are eligible to run. They converse with the Inner Sanctum, and vote on key issues. They assist Inner Sanctum members should the need arise.

[b]IV. Charter Ratification[/b]

Revisions to the charter will be created by the Sanctum, and then must pass with a majority vote of approval from the membership before being ratified.

[b]RIA-Sol ProtectoRIte Agreement[/b][/center]

[u]Preamble[/u]
The Random Insanity Alliance (hereby referred to as RIA) and Sol hereby agree to the following protection treaty, in the interest of growth and fostering a friendship between the two entities.

[u]Protection[/u]
As long as this agreement is in effect, the RIA will provide complete protection from aggression to Sol. If Sol specifically requests RIA refrain from intervening, RIA will abide by Sol's wishes. Should RIA be attacked during the course of a major conflict, Sol is not under obligation to become involved in a military effort, but will provide economic help to RIA as directed by the Head of Economics. Furthermore, RIA and Sol are encouraged to do tech deals with each other.

[u]Aggression[/u]
For the duration of this treaty, Sol agrees to notify RIA of any aggressive wars they partake in 48 hours beforehand, in order to allow RIA to cancel the treaty if deemed necessary.

D: Florida - Sol agrees to provide Florida with all of their sunshine.

[u]Dissolution[/u]
The treaty will remain in place for as long as deemed necessary. Either party may cancel this treaty when they wish, but must notify the other signatory 48 hours prior to publicly announcing the cancellation. During those 48 hours, the treaty is still considered in effect. Upon the public posting of dissolution, the treaty is void.

I'd disagree with this (although we knew it was just a matter of time until it showed up). While a lot of us have Origins there, as Louisa said not all of us do. I'd be more prone to calling it an alliance built around friendships fostered on the black team, if that makes sense. But no, this is not CDS 2.

In our past -- we currently don't have an official sphere. We're in the process of deciding that (probably won't announce it publicly)
