All five territories holding plebiscites have voted to join the Atlantic States as official states of the nation. Each state had over the required 65% of eligible voters participate in the election, with a majority in each new state vote to join the union. As such, Nova Scotia, Breton, Bahamas, Turks and Caicos Islands, and the Cayman Islands have been incorporated into Atlantis. Elections are soon to follow.

OOC: I'm making a new thread for elections ok?

Aleutian Islands

Progress is going smoothly on all Pacific bases and all indications suggest that construction will be completed on schedule. Three more cargo ships laden with supplies have been dispatched to the Aleutians and Kodiak Islands to provide supplies and materials.

In addition, a steady stream of scientists, technicians, and various professors and workers have been discreetly trickling into Kanaga Island. With the highest level of security clearance, it was the first base constructed and boasts a fully operational laboratory and workshops along with living quarters and small airstrip for all the people gathering. Because of the secret nature of the project, few knew that the base existed and even fewer knew what it was for. The official coverup was that it was simply a radar and meteorological station. However, they had a much more important task: elevate Atlantis to a nuclear state.

Operations are soon to begin at Kanaga National Laboratory. Personnel are still being shipped and secrecy is still of the utmost important. Very few but the top level officials know the project exists and all are under orders to not divulge any information. However, the Louisianan Chancellor has been informed of the planned operations at the laboratory. A small airstrip is being used to transport personnel while a small dock allows ships to bring in equipment and supplies to support the operations. Developing a nuclear device, as well as biological and chemical agents, are currently the foremost goals of the Island. Finally, all surrounding waters and airspace have been closed to unauthorized personnel.

Atlantis Department of Foreign Affairs Dispatch

Unfortunately, the Atlantic States will be withdrawing from the Confederation of Arctic Nations and is officially giving its withdrawal notice per this announcement. Atlantis is proud to have been part of such a prestigious and noble bloc which has allowed numerous nations to rise in the Arctic, however we admit that today it is a mere ghost of its former self. With only two other nations currently in the bloc, we do not believe it is able to effectively carry out its creed and thus we have decided to withdraw from the pact. We will of course continue to help ensure peace and prosperity in the northern tundra and we also hope to maintain good relations with all Confederation of Arctic Nations, past and present.

Finally, Atlantis has a new policy directed at all current and future allies with whom we have defense and non-aggression treaties. Currently, if two of our allies engaged in war with one another, we would be "treaty locked" and unable to do something other than watch two nations dismantle each other. However, we are announcing a new policy to correct this current practice. If two of our allies fight each other, we will consider our treaty with the aggressor nulled and reserve the right to assist the nation fighting a defensive war. We will of course attempt to provide a diplomatic solution to the conflict but we still reserve the right to provide military and economic aid to our defensive treaty partner. Current treaty partners have been notified of this change and we hope to maintain strong relations with all of our allies.

Internal Dispatch from the Department of War

With the rising tension in the geopolitical atmosphere and violence in Europe once again breaking out, the Department of War has initiated several preemptive countermeasures to ensure the well being of Atlantic States interests. With President approval received, the following orders are to be implemented immediately:

Monaco is to be set to a heightened sense of alertness for any possible altercations that may result from the French invasion of Germany. A curfew is to be imposed on the populace to ensure no nefarious activities are being carried out as well to limit the effectiveness of a night time invasion. The five thousand marine garrison in the state is to begin constant border patrol as well as man defensive bunker and anti-aircraft emplacements. In addition, a cargo ship laden with supplies as well as an additional five thousand men has set sail towards the Monaco port, to reinforce the stronghold. Citizens are being reminded to make sure they are stocked up on food and water, as well the government issued iodine pills and gas masks.

The situation in the Revillagigedo Islands is not at such a tense position at this point, as no violence has physically broken out yet, though it appears imminent. With the docks and oil refueling capable of supporting vessels, Fleet Jacob has been dispatched to the islands to ensure they remain untouched from any conflict. In addition, focus of the construction has shifted to the defensive fortifications in order to give the islands the means to defend themselves. A cargo ship laden with more supplies and the five Aleu railgun systems (modified Cochin railguns) has been ordered to the Revillagigedo to ensure the steady pace of construction.

In order to perform joint training operations with our ally the Kingdom of Cochin, 30,000 soldiers and 450 tanks are being transferred to the Indian subcontinent. They will sail through the Atlantic and Indian oceans in transport vessels, accompanied by a two destroyer and one attack submarine escort. The Kingdom of Cochin military will be immediately notified of these movements as well as asked of the location where the men and equipment can be unloaded.

In addition, AMB Tallahassee has been temporarily expanded to accommodate the recent influx in soldiers present for training exercises. Due to its location the men can be trained in both swamp and beachhead operations. The Cochin soldiers are to be treated with the utmost respect and given the same courtesy and privileges as Atlantis soldiers.

Finally, two-hundred commandos and 10,000 men have been airlifted to the Slavic Federation to support their operations against rebel Germany.

The training units from Atlantis could be transported to Cochin via the Task Force 24 which is currently in anchor at the Port of St. Joe. The Royal Cochin Navy Task Force would welcome Joint Sailing experience with the Atlantis Navy fleet units.

With the recent NAP Pact between Atlantis and the Federal Republic of America, the mutually shared borders have been opened for the first time since the FSA War of Aggression. With recent polls confirming a large majority of the public approve of the recent warming of relations with the FRA, many have taken advantage of the opportunity to visit relatives across the border. Alongside numerous trucks beginning trade with the Dixie nation, the traffic has caused numerous headaches for all involved as six hours is currently the average time needed to cross the border.

In addition, military troops have been removed from the borders and the Atlantis Border Guard has assumed complete control of border defense and checkpoint inspections. So far a dozen border checkpoints have been opened to the public, though many more are expected to open later to accommodate the influx of trade and travel. Any Atlantis citizen wishing to enter the FRA will need a valid passport, and all vehicles entering the nation will be subject to agricultural and security checks.

President Eyvindsson addressed the press on the turnaround in relations with the FRA, stating that "the time for such malicious relations are a thing of the past. Today we are focused on making and maintaining mutually beneficial relations with all nations in the Americas, including the Federal Republic of America. Sharing many cultural similarities with some of our own states, including Florida and North Carolina, I am proud to say we have taken a first step to sign a non-aggression and trade agreement with the FRA. With our relations constantly improving, tomorrow keeps looking better and better in southern America." His statements have fueled intense speculation that a possible mutual defense treaty was possible in the near future, but the President refused to comment on any speculation.
