The transition in Nova Scotia was extremely slow, but existent. The peninsula had long been a Tahoan colony and a majority of the people still held traditional Tahoan beliefs. Most despised the nations warring Tahoe while feeling extremely sympathetic towards the giant. Though they did not outright hate Atlantis, they did dislike them for being 'invaders' on their land.

To counter this, the [i]Nova Scotian Provisional Government[/i] implement sweeping changes to this former colony. All firearms were outlawed however the curfew had been lifted. Peaceful protests were allowed and everyday thousands of citizens marched in Halifax, demanding that the Coalition stop their attack on Tahoe. Perhaps most surprisingly, the NSPG offered free tickets for citizens who wished to return to the Tahoe Republic. They would not be forced to leave however it was encouraged and many of the most disgruntled citizens took the government up on the offer, though quite a few refused to leave the their land.

The biggest change happened with the small minority of people who had been unhappy under the oppressive Tahoan regime. These people were extremely happy to see Tahoe gone and treated Atlantis as liberators, noting that Atlantis "could better govern us than some bully across the continent" one joyful Nova Scotian businessman noted. The Atlantis Ministry of Information continued spreading propaganda about these people and the benefits of Atlantis rule continuously, until it became ingrained in the citizens' heads. Sooner or later the province would not be so hostile.

Today is the 68th Monaco Grand Prix, considered one of the most prestigious, yet dangerous automobile races of the year as it winds through the city streets of Monte Carlo and La Condamine. Thousands of fans flocked to the small province to watch the exciting action and hundreds of thousands more watched as the race was soon underway.

For much of the race it appeared as though Australian Mark Webber held a small, yet resilient lead over the rest of the pack as they headed through the unique tunnels and turns of the course.

However, we can confirm the scene is now one of pandemonium and chaos. From gathered amateur footage, it appears as though some sort of incident occurred at the stretch of the track near the harbor. Apparently, a person ran onto the track however it is still unclear as to what has happened. As always, we will keep you updated with the most recent updates as this situation unfolds.

It seems everyday the people of Nova Scotia are becoming more pro-Atlantis. The main reason for this, political analysts argue, is the government's approach to provide the citizens with numerous rights previously denied to them by the conservative Tahoan regime. With the right to bear arms reinstated, the citizens of Nova Scotia are experiencing unprecedented civil rights, and are starting to appreciate them. In addition, Atlantis has authorized millions of dollars in aid to be spent on updating the Nova Scotia infrastructure and aligning it so it can be swiftly integrated into Atlantis should the province be annexed. One citizen noted that "[i]With Tahoe slowly crumbling our economy went down with it. Now I once again can provide for my family"[/i] before hurriedly running to the construction of a new bank and hospital in the area.

The prospects of annexation indeed looks promising. The citizens of Atlantis overwhelmingly approve, most noting how the Nova Scotians are "lost brother and sisters" that have been brainwashed by the Tahoe Republic, the brutal nation that Atlantis is [i]de facto[/i] at war with. The Nova Scotians themselves are still split according to recent polls conducted in the area, though Atlantis officials are confident it will happen. The Ministry of Information is running large campaigns to show Nova Scotians the advantages of integration and a [i]Progressive Nova Scotia[/i] party has recently been formed, with the platform to join the Nova Scotia if elected. Already the party is attracting large numbers of followers.

To smooth such a transition, Atlantis has broken the former Tahoe territory into two protectorates: [b]Nova Scotia[/b] which contains the peninsula and [b]Breton[/b], for Cape Breton Island. Breton, much less pro-Tahoe because it does not contain the capital city Halifax is already fairly eager to join the Atlantic States, and officials find this a positive sign on the path to reuniting these maritime lands.

With the Labrador Sea SOSUS completed, Atlantis Naval Technicians are now calibrating the line so that natural disturbances can be identified and noted for future reference. The calibration is expected to take months if not years, to go alongside the Atlantic, Florida, and Carolina SOSUS lines.

In addition, the railgun emplacements are currently being refitted to current defensive emplacements. The majority are being fitted onto the Maritime states coastal defenses and will also take months to fit. Of the utmost importance is ensuring the structures are EMP-proof, through the use of a faraday cage-like system.

Satellites had picked up little to no activity over Andonia, and as nations are apt to do, it has more than likely fallen into anarchy. As such, 2,000 Atlantis peacekeepers have been airlifted to the islands to secure basic utilities and regain control of the nation. In addition, a destroyer and frigate have been dispatched to the island to rendezvous with the men. The Kingdom of Cochin was immediately notified.

The collapse of Tahoe was, though not unexpected, not convenient. The fear of a mad rush for land was abundant and Atlantis officials determined that mainland Tahoe Republic land should be seized, in conjunction with Coalition forces, to be secured as a protectorate.

Of the 10,000 mobilizes forces that were in Florida, 8,000 were transported from the Florida coast to the Bahamas capital of Nassau, were they were to secure the provincial government and assert Atlantis authority. The situation here was very different from that in Nova Scotia, as the people seemed to have no particular love for Tahoe. The islanders believed that Tahoe had mistreated them, or at least done an inadequate job, not surprising as they were a small series of islands separated by a continent from the mainland. The soldiers brought tons of aid and fresh water with them, and immediately repealed all draconic Tahoan regulations and laws. The people would come to appreciate the Atlantic States' good will.

A further 1,000 men were deployed to the former Turks and Caicos Islands capital of Cockburn Town. With such a small population the troops would have no troops retoring order and asserting control over the local government. The situation here was almost identical to that in the Bahamas. Finally, 1,000 men were deployed from the Florida Keys to assist Louisiana with Cuba. The men were ordered to augment Louisiana troops and would be removed as soon as Louisiana requested it.

Of the 20,000 troops who were formerly securing the Mexican Protectorate which was no more, 19,800 were ordered to cross into the states of Arizona, New Mexico, and California. The forces concentrated mainly on California and it was apparent more men would be needed to support them. However, a small detachment of 200 men had a different objective. They were airlifted to the remote Revillagigedo Islands, the site of a previous fiasco between the Northern Republic and the Tahoe Republic. Their mission was to secure the islands and raise the Atlantis flag, in a final act of defiance to the defunct Tahoan regime.

With so much land having fallen into chaos at the Tahoe Republic's government collapse, the 60,000 Canadian Protectorate soldiers plus the 100,000 men being transported across the continent were to secure the remaining Tahoe lands as they became a joint protectorate, concentrating particularly on the West Coast and cooperating with Coalition forces.

Finally, Fleet 4 of the Atlantis Navy has been dispatched to the West Coast to help oversee the protectorate. The HAE has been contacted over the usage of the Panama Canal for the fleet.

With the acquisition of the previously uninhabited Revillagigedo Islands, responsibility for the islands has recently been handed over to the Atlantis [b]Department of War[/b]. In accordance with this transfer, the Ministry of the Navy has been appropriated funds to begin construction of [i]Atlantis Naval Base, Socorro[/i].

The base will cover the majority of the island, however a small portion of Socorro is to be maintained and used by the National Meteorological Institute to monitor weather and currents along the West Coast.

The red lines represent the three runways to be constructed as part of the airfield on the island. The runways are between one and two miles in length and will be able to support most aircraft, including military fighters, bombers, and transports when required.

The green zone is the main barracks and buildings of the base, which will need to accommodate up to thousands of men. The base will become a staging ground for operations on the west coast, specifically in order to ensure that any Atlantis protectorate can be adequately secured and maintained.

In addition, the island will become the permanent home of Fleet 4, now to be located in the Pacific. The orange zone signifies the docks to be constructed on the island, able to accommodate Fleet 4 as well as other vessels visiting temporarily. A small shipyards capable of making some repairs as well as a refueling depot will be located on base. Atlantis and ally vessels will be permitted to use the base when required, and commercial vessels are allowed to make emergency stops should it be necessary.

In addition, a small [i]Ministry of the Air Guard [/i] outpost is to be established along the slopes of Mt. Evermann as well as Monte Gallegos on the island of Clarion. The main duties of these outposts are to monitor the west coast and eastern Pacific for possible threats to Atlantis security.

The defenses on these islands will be formidable, and are specifically designed to be as automated as possible. Five of the Astara Railgun batteries will be placed in EMP proof bunkers on the side of Mt. Evermann to act as heavy coastal defenses against any invasion. In addition, automated turret emplacements are being constructed on all beachheads which have the capacity to mow down men attempting to storm the islands. Automated anti-aircraft missile defenses are constructed as a ring around the island. With the island radar able to pinpoint threats, the AA defenses are capable of interception and destruction. Finally, SUBSTRIKE and land mines are to be laid on the shores and beached of the islands. The mines will remain inert unless activated by military headquarters in the event of an invasion.

Construction is set to start immediately, a five cargo vessels along with a tanker vessel and passenger vessel are being deployed through the Panama Canal to the islands to begin work. The airstrip, barracks, and docks are the first to be constructed.

The cargo vessels have successfully anchored off the makeshift docks of the island and construction has begun on the island base. Completion of the project is expected to take months if not years however the crew chiefs are confident they will be able to finish ahead of schedule. In accordance with the recent [i]Revillagigedo Islands Act[/i] approved by the Directorate, the Islands are officially grouped as a Republic Dependency. Essentially, the islands will have no representation in the Directorate or Senate and will be maintained by the federal government, due to the fact there are no native inhabitants. Soldiers and other Atlantis citizens stationed on the island will still be allowed to vote in all federal elections.

In addition, the Department of War has contacted its counterpart in Louisiana over possible joint-administration of the islands and base. The move was approved as there is virtually unanimous consent that Louisiana is the closest American ally to Atlantis. Should Louisiana agree to the decision, they will be allowed to maintain personnel and ships on base while helping in its administration and operation.

With the collapse of the Imperium of Canada Ellesmere Island has been re instituted under Atlantis authority, as it is the legal successor state of the Northern Republic. Many in the government were unsure of handle the transaction, citing its distance from the nation and overall inaccessibility. However due to the numerous amounts of refugees on the island and imminent collapse of the CAN it has been decided that Ellesemere Island will be administrated by Atlantis. In addition, the Alaskan island of Kodiak will be combined with Ellesmere Island to form the Northern Arctica Autonomous Region, a status identical to that of Monaco. The province, with a population just over 115,000, will have three representatives in the Directorate and two in the Senate, as per predetermined law. The capital of the province and seat of government will be Kodiak City. In addition to this, enlarged airports are to be constructed in Kodiak City and Eureka, the largest city on Ellesmere Island, with weekly flights to Atlantis proper.

With confirmation of Louisiana's acceptance, war department officials have agreed to work alongside Louisianan overseers as construction of the island progresses. With a temporary unpaved runway both nation's administrators are allowed access to the island to monitor and observe construction. Atlansiana Departments of War will begin coordination for joint-control of the islands, effective immediately.

Cargo ships laden with aid and construction supplies, led by icebreakers, are headed to Ellesmere and Kodiak Islands to distribute supplies and begin construction on necessary infrastructure. Because Northern Arctica is so remote, the local governance is being designed to be self-sufficient and relatively autonomous from the federal government. In addition, defenses are to be light and mobile. A few small detachments of men have been sent to man outposts however it is highly unlikely the province would ever come under attack. In addition, a small force of 2,000 troops have been dispatched to the Aleutian Islands. The islands have been in a constant state of dilapidation ever since the Procinctia government on the islands. The population is extremely small and mostly concentrated in the town of Unalaska, to be the provisional head of government.

After months of growing support, the organized territories of Breton, Nova Scotia, Bahamas, Turks and Caicos Islands, and the Cayman Islands have all submitted formal requests for a plebiscite to join Atlantis. Analysts predict that most if not all territories are expected to vote yes, in order to fully enjoy all the benefits begin a formal Atlantis province has to offer.

Another cargo vessel has arrived on the main island and construction is progressing as expected. The temporary docks are capable of mooring the large cargo vessels, allowing easier transition of supplies and workers. The reinforced dock, airport, and communications equipment remain the highest priority at this point and are being given the most attention to ensure they are quickly completed.

In addition, preparations have been made for Louisianan workers and supplies to help the current construction efforts. The planned barracks have been expanded to include the Louisianan sailors and men to be stationed on the island as well.

[u]Aleutian Islands[/u]

With the acquisition of the Aleutian Islands and approval of the Alaskan Republic, ships laden with supplies and equipment have been ordered to the Islands to help construct a series of military bases on the island. The main seat of operations is to be Unalaska Island which will also be the location of the HQ and major airstrips on the Islands. The Islands have a similar status to the Revillagigedo Islands and as such Louisiana forces are being welcomed to assist Atlantis in construction and maintenance of the Islands.

Also, Kanaga Island has been sealed off and been given an even higher level of secrecy than the other bases being constructed. A biological and chemical testing facility and laboratory are being constructed to test and develop the NBC arsenal of Atlantis.
