Californian
[Incomplete] Department of War Minister: Jacques David Deputy Minister: Amand Ericksson ______________________________________________________________ Guiding Statement The Atlantic States shall establish and maintain a standing military in order to: 1) Protect the Atlantic States and her Interests 2) Protect her allies and their Interests 3) Ensure the Integrity and Prosperity of the North American continent Overall Command The Ministry of War is tasked with coordinating the efforts of all departments, including Strategic Defense, Homeland Defense, and National Defense (incorporating the Republic Guard, Navy Guard, and Air Guard) during both times of peace and war. Command is split up strategically based on different spheres of the world. NORCOM - Focuses on The Northern Republic Headquartered in: Höfuðborgarsvæðinukrokurfjordur HIGHCOM - Focuses on the Arctic Headquartered in: Egedesminde Arkhangelsk Military Base AMCOM - Focuses on the Americas Headquartered in: Florida Keys Charleston Naval Base MEDCOM - Focuses on Eurasia Headquartered in: Holsteinsborg Monaco Naval Base Atyrau Military Base La Palma Military Base Joint Chiefs of Staff The JCS is a cabinet of senior defense officials. They are charged with making important decisions regarding NR military policy and keeping the President and Prime Minister informed of all situations. Members of JCS: President Prime Minister Minister of War Minister of Security Minister of Intelligence Chief of Strategic Defense Chief of Homeland Defense Chief of National Defense Commander of the Border Guard Commander of the Navy Guard Commander of the Air Guard Department of Strategic Defense Chief of Strategic Defense: Frederik Schydt The purpose of the Department of Strategic Defense is to ensure the safety and continued security of the Republic by detecting and destroying any foreign missiles or rockets launched at the nation. The Department is charged with the continued operation and maintenance of the multi-layer missile defense system. Tier 1: Northern Republic Stratified Defense Network (NORSEDEN) This is the main workhorse of the integrated defense system. Dozens of NORSEDEN stations are located across the nation in all provinces and territories. Combined with numerous Republic satellites orbiting the globe, the goal is to track and destroy ICBMs (particularly nuclear warheads) before they can reach their destination. The satellites accurately pinpoint the location of a projectile and can detect its speed as well as direction. The land stations then are able to launch lasers at the missiles. Creating enough heat, the lasers can usually melt the missiles causing them to malfunction or detonate harmlessly in the sky. Experts in the department predict the system has about a 60% chance of eliminating any nuclear ICBM before it reaches the nation. Tier 2: Integrated Missile Defense System (IMDS) IMDS uses hundreds of bunkers and stationary fortifications around the Republic, located in strategic places primarily surrounding large cities, coasts, and land borders. IMDS has the capability to shoot down cruise missiles and other incoming projectiles and airplance. Forward Radar Stations (FRS) can accurately spot and track incoming missiles and aircraft. Then Operation Stations (OS) launch counter missiles with the goal of successfully colliding with the enemy missile, preventing it from reaching its target. Experts predict this system has a 50% of cruise missiles. While better than nothing, the odds could be significantly increased and engineers are currently attempting to find a way to increase them. If enemy aircraft are found to have entered Republic airspace, they are told in English and major foreign languages to immediately turn back. if no change of route is made in 20 seconds or the aircraft shoots, it will be fired upon. Missiles from an IMDS system may be fired at it or TNR aircraft may be scrambled to intercept it. Tier 3: Mobile Air Defenses (MAD) By far the most common and inexpensive form of defense, MAD defenses are located throughout the Northern Republic. From mobile anti-aircraft guns and missile emplacements to PATRIOT-like mobile missile systems, these defenses are the most numerous yet least effective. Stationed at military bases and borders, these defenses hope to destroy incoming planes and enemy aircraft. They are usually operated by a small group of men and can be quickly assembled if a threat is imminent. Department of Homeland Defense Chief of Homeland Defense: Adam Wilhelm Moltke The Department of Homeland Defense is tasked with the continued maintenance and operation of stationary NR defenses. The Department is split into two main administrations, each with a different sphere of operations. Border Protection Administration (Commonly referred to as the Border Patrol) Coastal Protection Administration (Commonly referred to as the Coast Guard) Oceanic Protection Administration (Commonly referred to as the OPA) The OPA is tasked with monitoring the Northern Republic's territorial and EEZ waters. It is headquartered in Qaqortoq, Kujalleq and has approximately 500 soldiers and 5,000 civilian employees. One of the primary functions of the OPA is to manage the multiple SOSUS lines operated by the Northern Republic. List of Republic Naval Monitoring Stations (RNMS) RNMS FL01 located in Satellite Beach, Florida RNMS FL02 located in Pensacola, Florida RNMS FL03 located in Jacksonville, Florida RNMS NC01 located in Southport, North Carolina RNMS NC02 located in Corrituck, North Carolina RNMS GR01 located in Qaqortoq, Kujalleq RNMS LP 01 located on La Palma Republic Oceanographic Division The ROD is one division in the OPA and is tasked with monitoring the ocean's waves, currents, plate tectonics, and chemical composition.
