Greetings from The Imperium

Recommended Posts

An electronic message was sent from Imperial City to the Kingdom of Cochin asking for them to send a diplomatic team or envoy to Imperial City for discussion of a number of diplomatic matters. They may come by any method of travel be it air, sea or land. Either way a car will be sent to pick them up to take them to see the Emperor personally.

Paul Asad, senior diplomat in Ministry of External Affairs has been sent to Imperial City as a plenipotentiary representative from the Kingdom of Cochin. He would arrive at Imperial City by an RCAF Executive Fleet Merat.

Paul Asad was met by a black bullet proof car along with an armed guard who also doubled as an escort and a driver who remained in the vehicle and never spoke. As soon as Mr Asad was greeted and had gotten into the vehicle the car sped off down the streets heading for the current government building which in fact was a refurbished police station. Driving along the streets Mr Asad would see that many people kept their gazes lowered and a air of oppression seemed to radiate from the city.

Eventually arriving at the station the guard got out first and opened the door for Mr Asad before leading him into the station, past a small security checkpoint and through a metal detector and x-ray machine. As long as no weapons were discovered on him he was taken upstairs and into a large room where an elderly man in a black cloak sat in a high back chair behind an expensive wooden desk.

"Welcome to the Imperium Mr Asad, take a seat" he said with a raspy breath using his right hand to point at the only chair in the room in front of the desk.

The drive through the nation had presented an apolcalyptic look to Paul Asad and he took mental notes of the pall of gloom seeming to pervade the nation. As he was led to the meeting, Paul sat at the chair assigned and said," Thank you, sir. My name is Paul Asad, Senior Under Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs, Kingdom of Cochin."

"I see. It is good that they sent someone important to meet me, any other person sent might have been seen as an insult wouldn't you say" replied the Emperor smiling, revealing an almost toothless mouth. "Now then I asked for someone like you to be sent here to formalise what will hopefully become an agreement to an alliance both economically and defensivly".

"Quite simply I believe we can come up with an agreement for our two nations to work towards strengthening our economies as well as agreeing to come to the defense of the other as long as they have not started the conflict. I had intended to have one of my underlings present you with a finished agreement but he has failed at that task and been dealt with. Perhaps you could draw up such an agreement?"

"We can definitely help you in rebuilding your economy, but the Kingdom is as of now unwilling to enter into a defensive relationship with your nation. We would like to see greater stability in your nation, before we commit to a relationship of such a magnitude."

"Stability? My dear Mr Asad there is full control and stability in this nation, all elements that could or can prove dangerous to the nation and government have been defeated. I am in complete control of everything that occurs in this nation and the Imperial armed forces stand ready to punish any that think otherwise. However, if you truly wish to bide your time then so be it. I understand. For now why don't you draw up an economic agreement"
