Markus Wilding
"Xarles Cloutier, what is the state of the 501st and the Army?" Xarles had been looking over a design for the 501st's new rifle, the MARCS-80. "The 501st is still undergoing training, sir. Some elements of the Army, like the 3rd and 4th Brigades, are still training as well. The others are out patrolling and setting up bases. Dare I ask why?" Kazimir nodded his head as he listened and eventually said "I needed to know. Follow me, if you will Xarles." Xarles did so and Kazimir led him to a stairwell in the main Parliament building. "Sir, dare I ask why-" Kazimir interrupted him with "Don't ask. Just follow." Kazimir heads downstairs to a bunker, filled with generators, test tubes and scientists, many scientists scurrying about, checking tubes, looking at generator power levels and glancing nervously at a covered-up machine. Kazimir slowly goes to it, and several scientists follow as well. "Sir, W-what is this thing?" Kazimir merely glances back and says "Something we found. Somebody brought the pieces to Parliament, dropped them on my desk and scurried off yesterday. No words, no markings of nationality, no nothing. The man didn't even say anything." Xarles gulped and askes his superior, "But what is it?" Kazimir chuckles to himself and says to nobody in particular, "We will soon find out, won't we? Uncover it. Mills, get a tape recorder and record everything we say." The machine is unveiled, and an old, broken Swedish Sentry gun is uncovered, a Type 1 variant. (OOC: I'm assuming this is okay. If not, tell me. ) "Is that thing on?" Kazimir turns to Xarles and yells "NO! What moron leaves an unknown machine on?!" He then says to the scientists, "Kaysh mirsh solus..." Xarles, not knowing Mando'a yet, only looks on as Kazimir and the scientists laugh. "Funny. Now, what does this thing do?" Kazimir walks over to it, examines the various parts and says "I've no idea, but it appears to be a gun. Possibly an automated turret, if you will." Xarles thinks for a moment. The possibilities an automated turret could do for Coruscanta defenses! "Well, let's fire it up, then! Let's see what it can do!" Kazimir sighs and looks at Xarles like he's a fool. "We need to move it to a firing range to test it, you fool. Move the weapon, go!"
Markus Wilding
"Is the gun ready?" A scientist checks the Sentry and replies back with "It is operational, sir." With a click, the target pops down - and the sentry does nothing. "What's wrong with this thing?!" "Maybe the firing mechanism is broken. Let me go look..." Another scientist begins moving forward, and the sentry beeps twice and unloads paintballs onto the man's labcoat. "Th-this thing is shooting paintballs!" Xarles moves forward as well, staying out of the gun's firing range. "Paintballs? Like, the ones teenagers who can't buy an airsoft gun and Call of Duty use?" "No, the other kind. Yes, of course those cheap ones!" Kazimir looks over the gun and disables it. "Interesting. Do you suppose these paintballs were supposed to be lethal? No, that's ridiculous. Perhaps they were meant to be the test, these paintballs. Yes, perhaps they were to test the accuracy and firepower. Get to work on this gun. I want it to be fully operational in two months." The scientists sighed. They knew it would be impossible, but they tried anyway. In three days, basic target recognition systems began to come together. Although it, like the first Swedish version, had trouble identifying enemy and friendly forces, it was coming together very well. The miniguns needed time to spin up but Coruscanta scientists saw a way around this: keep the miniguns spinning when it was patrolling at all times. Sure, it would drain the battery, but if the engineers kept a sharp eye on them, they would be a formidable defense.
Markus Wilding
Coruscanta assumptions made before were wrong. Keeping the miniguns spun up drained the battery entirely, leaving no power to fire the weapon. Coruscanta engineers have decided that in case this should happen, a manual trigger will be built to compensate for any power failure. Troubles are still ongoing with targeting systems, there is talk among the scientists to team up with Disparu tech specialists to help with the design. A new rifle has been built and is in production for the 501st. It is named the MARCS-80 (MAndalorian Rifle Concept Series 80) for now, but if testing is of any indication it will be renamed the MARS-80. A picture is shown below, with an extended magazine attachment with a grenade launcher, with the option of HE rounds and chemical rounds. A red dot sight is included with the rifle. It fires the 7mm round. The Coruscanta Army has long asked for a medium machine gun to fill their needs for a support and area denial role. The CMW-997H fills that role. CMW itself stands for "Coruscanta Military Works" and the "H" prefix stands for "Heavy", despite the initial "medium" moniker. It will be deployed in large cities like Kyr'tsad, Coruscanta's capital. It fires a custom 7.5x54mm round and testing is underway to determine it's statistics. Markus Wilding
After some deliberation, it was decided that the Sentry Gun Mk.1 would be a joint project between Coruscanta, Disparu and the Imperial Hudson Reich. All that is needed is for the nations to agree to commit to such a highly experimental project, as the concept is even having troubles just firing due to missing parts. The MARS-80 (now renamed to the Mandalorian Assault Rifle Series 80) has passed development and testing and is being produced in factories. The CMW-997H is still undergoing tests. Markus Wilding
Designs are underway for a blue-water navy when resources can actually build the class. The class name will be Aran (Defense) Class. It will feature 8" plated armor on the hull and sides with 4 inch guns on the bow. Twin 50. caliber machine guns will be deployed on the port and starboard sides with depth charge rails on the stern. Although just the armor itself will make the ship slow, compensations will be made with a more powerful engine.
Markus Wilding
The above image are our soon-to-be built defenses for our nation. The black line represents standard land defenses, everything from trench lines to dedicated anti-tank positions. Although we sincerely hope none of these will need to be put to use, it is always good to prepare for a future conflict rather than not prepare at all. Blue lines represent coastal defenses, with trenches and 50. caliber machine guns. Other defenses include 155mm anti-ship guns on the Hudson coast, while the defenses facing the former FSA consist of only machine guns. The yellow circles represent ammo dumps and major military bases. The red square is Kyr'tsad, Coruscanta's capital. Blue circles represent major naval bases and harbors. The black Xs are anti-air defenses.
Markus Wilding
With some go-ahead given, work has begun on refitting the Sentry miniguns to take lethal ammunition, namely .30 caliber rounds rated at nearly 670 rounds per minute. Several things have been noted about the Sentry. One is that it needs to be maintained and kept a sharp eye on by engineers constantly. In addition to this, we are still not sure if we can acquire the proper targeting systems, therefore it will also have to be checked to make sure it doesn't open fire on friendlies. With this, large ammunition reserves need to be held next or near the Sentry nests themselves, and reloading them is a long process, requiring removal of the drum from the feed mechanism and loading a chain of ammunition into said drum. Markus Wilding
Tests are underway for a new sniper rifle for both the 501st and the army, the CMW-25. It is based off the Barret 50. caliber sniper rifle, using a .408 round with an attached bipod. It also includes a 12x zoom scope and 10 round magazine. It's maximum effective range is determined to be over 1500 yards. Sentry gun work is also going well, showing that the .30 cal round is performing better than expected. Max range is determined to be about 150 yards and the rate of fire is over 600 rounds per minute. The drum capacity has been increased to hold 500 rounds to compensate for the rate of fire. Scientists are awaiting the targeting systems from Disparu before continuing further.

Markus Wilding
Wit the new targeting systems, two Sentry guns were built: one with the first target system (designated TG-1) the other with the second (designated TG-2). Both were filled with non-lethal ammunition and work began. The first system was...a total failure. Due to the nature of it's system (air-based) it frequently opened fire on friendly forces. The second did much better, but sill opened fire on friendlies. Extensive work will have to be done to ensure that friendly fire does not happen, but for now, a reply was sent back to Disparu:
Sentry TG-2A testing has been completed, and while there are bugs (such as opening fire on friendlies) the design specifications should be faxed to your offices shortly.
Markus Wilding
With the war over, Tanya begins work on a new Sentry gun design, seeing as the older version failed miserably in the field. This design would be named the Sentry TG3A, TG3 for the combination of Disparu's target systems. This version would have more rounds, a different caliber and rockets designed to take out both advancing trucks and light aircraft. Of course, with these new features come new problems. For one, the overall armor of the TG3A needs to be increased, but doing so with slow the gun down and even adversely affect performance. With the .30 caliber round obviously not powerful enough to do any sort of damage, requests have been made to manufacture .408 and possibly even .50 caliber rounds for use in the Sentry. Incendiary ammo would most likely be used in the Sentry as well. The rockets may also be inaccurate, due to their length and the short "tube" they fly out from. A design of the Sentry TG3A is shown below. MiG-31 aircraft will begin production in Coruscantan factories after they have been rebuilt. Markus Wilding
Sentry Gun TG3A systems have so far been proven a reliable, although more expensive, replacement for the TG2A. The armor has been increased to 20mm thick, although slowing it down considerably it shields it from small arms fire, although it is still vulnerable to explosives, though not nearly as vulnerable as the TG2A. The rockets are still in developmental phases, and it will still be some time before they will be able to be used in battle. For now, though, the rocketless TG3A will begin production phases and slowly field-tested on small levels to ensure it's ability to tell targets apart compared to the TG2A.
