Van Hoo III
Ragnarok Ragnarok is currently undergoing major internal changes. A few months ago, we instituted new requirements for Ragnarok members in regard to activity and military readiness. Members were informed of these new guidelines and also required to sign in to our forums and become active members of the community. Our membership numbers, as expected, have steadily declined since then as some members decided to go elsewhere instead of following such guidelines. Up until this point, we had not strictly enforced the rules and guidelines and instead have been compiling data about our membership. This data involved who signed into our forums, who has been on IRC, who has been active in the alliance, who are properly growing their nations as instructed, who is sending aid, etc. By doing this, we were able to decide who we no longer wanted in our alliance. Nations who failed to sign into our forums, refuse to help financially, don't interact on our forums or IRC, or didn't bother to respond to our messages at all, are individuals that completely go against our very charter which specifically states that we require activity, sacrifice, and loyalty. We understand that some people just want an alliance that allows them to sit and grow their nation without being involved in any way, shape, or form and that is fine ... Ragnarok just isn't the alliance for those individuals. A list has been compiled and our first wave of expulsion notices have been sent. Those who fail to leave Ragnarok over the next few days will be considered ghosts and attacked by their former alliance-mates. We stand to lose several members and hundreds of thousands of nation strength, but that has never really mattered all that much to us. Once we have purged ourselves of the dead weight among our ranks, the remaining RoK nations will remain compliant for as long as they remain in Ragnarok. Our doors are still open to new members and we will be actively recruiting new nations, but they will join us knowing what is expected and required of them. Thank you for your time. SpacingOutMan
Good luck guys. I know CSN has been having some problems with inactive and uncooperative members as well. In the end, it is totally worth the trouble of getting rid of them since they serve no value to the alliance as a whole. Vesalius
Good decision. Ragnarok will be better in the long run because of it.
Reagan1
More alliances need to take this stand. Better to have fewer people and knowing you can count on every one of them than having a ton that inflate your numbers and give you a false sense of security. Classy move. USMC123
Wow. Big changes for Ragnarok! I suspect traditionally tight-knit community with such camaraderie like yours won't lose too much score off this though. Good Luck! o/ Ragnarok

Alfred von Tirpitz
RoK > Rokkers > Self Thats all one needs to remember, really. To those about to leave us, wish things would have been different, but, i am sure you will understand. After all, you did make the commitment to the above stated ideal, when you joined. Rebel Virginia
Good luck with this. I have always been of the opinion that a slim and active membership is better than a large one with many ghosts. If only people had listened to me when this was a cutting edge idea. TheEraser
I'm not a fan of purges myself, I'd rather see the members converted into active contributors to the community, but there has to be a line. I hope this makes RoK an even more awesome alliance

We gave everyone plenty of opportunities to comply with our guidelines or find new homes. At this point, if a nation is expelled or even attacked for not leaving, they really don't have much of an argument.
Sargun II
This is why I like small alliances. We never have to worry about purges Good luck, Ragnarok :
Alfred von Tirpitz
The couple of months that were spent engaging folks in dialogue, understanding their issues, showing them the way, and in many cases witnessing a turn around, were well spent. Of course we did experience some exits, as is evidenced by the stats over those months, people deciding they needed to move on to a different environment. Glad to say that while some people left, the growth has been decent and steady in terms of NS. That means, those that turned around, did so with gusto. This is the end of the counseling period and now the people obstinate enough to not pay heed, need to move on, and fast. Yes we did take into consideration, any extenuating circumstances that an individual member might have.
