Germany: Public Controversy

Kaiser Martens

Recommended Posts

Pier Henriksen Schmidt. A mid-ranking member of the Reichswehr. A history of fighting for Germany. The man's first battle experiences were in Northern Scandinavia, repealling a naval invansion years ago. Back then he was but a basic militian. In time, he gained more experience and had become regular army personel. He seems to have fought in several fronts, but other than the occational condecoration, does not seem to have been outstanding. That was until, motivated by his dissapointment, he decided to speak up.

Firstly, he would begin with...rather angry, even drunken rants among his companions. All of them would agree. In time, he would make himself known in Germany. After several months, he would be prompted to create an organization, but would refuse on the grounds that his goal was to raise National Awareness of the problems he spoke off, not to construct a coalition against the Government.

Eventually, one of his speeches on this day would be heard internationally:

"Soldaten,

Firstly yes - I am aware that many, the majority of the present here, are not a part of our Regular Forces, but rather subscribe to the monthly military training only. Yet in this way it is important to understand that we are possibly the only nation to do this. Because of this fact I can only address the crowds as Soldiers and Comrades, understanding them to be equal to me, the only difference being that I am constantly guarding the Fatherland, while you once a month prepare to eventually do so.

But we are in an unusual position. We are a nation crowded with soldiers and weapons, a nation in arms, which, in spite of this, is constantly pushed around by foreign powers which even with their regular numbers - without cultivating a warrior culture like our own - are numerically and even technologically superior. This is all disguised by the international community as a time of perfect peace for Europe, formerly for the world, until the Tahoeans begain their descent. I say that the war in Tahoe is the first war of many which will happen as a result of this worldwide hipocrisy. Although I feel sorry for their citizens, and in particular for the Nordlanders that live there, it must be understood that their Government placed them into the position to be crushed. I will not speak of the Bandwagonners who joined later, nor will I speak of the spineless traitor. May this war have a swift end.

Indeed, nations have pretended that even while a world war approaches, Europe has been in its best times. I say that, in fact, it has been in the wort times possible short of Visarism with its Nuclear weapons. To speak of Visarism, one must understand that the source of power for such wicked ideology had been the same power core that still exists in Europe today. Greater Nordlandic industrial power had always been focused on the geographic center of Nordland, that is, in Modern Day Southern Germany. This is why even though that Visarism has been symbollically defeated, in reality it still exists in a new form: Southern Germany. They have Visarist Industry, Technology, Nuclear weapons - everything under a new banner, and to replace the Visarists' institutions of repression they instead freed the people then to create a Big Brother Government: For it is known widely that all citizens of Southern Germany have bracelets which log their every move, notify their government of their positions and actions all the time, in that, Southern Germany has achieved the true dream of Communism and National Socialism alike that not even Napoleon, Stalin, Hitler and the ancient United States of America could ever dream of creating: The pinnacle of omnipresential Government. Greater Nordland and Visarism has, thusly, not really fallen, but reduced its territory and repackaged itself. Since then, it has been defeated twice yet not destroyed, allowing it to continue to get stronger.

Nordland had two components. The firstly was the Physical Component, which I have mentioned: Southern Germany, the embodyment of monstruous industrialism, the muscle of Nordland. The second component, the Spiritual component, is what today constitutes Germany - Northern Germany. Those who had hailed to the alte germanen and vikingarna, those with the culture, the free spirit, the ancient gods, the ancient language. The great skill of Southern Germany consists in disociating themselves from the Nordlandic Image in order to be able to push their agenda while weakening us, while blaming us for the actions of the past. Their citizens hate anything resembling Visari indeed and Nordland, or so the Government says - maybe they do, and have been forced to subtly - but then they are the ones who had a war against the Martencists internally, and murdered every single one of them. The Southern Germans were so desperate not to be Extremists, that they commited an act of extremism themselves, murdering thousands of people for having a different idea. This is different than here in the north, in which the Rational Communists eventually came to form the new coalition Government. The southerners are so afraid of the monster that they used to be, than through fighting against it, continue to be exactly the same...no matter how they think they may have changed. This is not to cite the war against Northern Germany. Another means of understanding their identity panic is to see the period in which they referred to themselves as Romans in spite of not being Roman in any shape or form. They are a people running away from their own identity, and as they are armed with the weapons of Visarism, nobody dares stop them. Rational Communism claims to be the best system, but in reality, it created nothing. Rational Communism is a method to keep the Southern Germans under control. Rational Communism did not build anything, did not achieve anything: All that it ever had to do was mantaining the preexistant Nordlandic Economy going, which was easy due to the land downsize. In doing so, they left the rest of the Nordlanders to die. That is why we had a civil war in Nordheim, and they, they did not care. Only when the situation got desperate many nations, including the Prussians, did help.

Since then, Nordheim, Prussia and then Germany have been trying to pick up the pieces, and provide their people with good standards of living while at first having practically no infrastructure to rely on, and only technological scraps. Many nations have been more reasonable, such as the Finns and the Slavs - all of the Slavs. It is widely known that the main reason why the North-South German merger failed was due to Lübeck. That deserves its own chapter, which I will deal with soon. Yet what I try to express right now is that, while Northern Germany, for the sake of unity, for better or worse had been willing to compromise on many things to achieve freedom in unity, even accepting big brother's system and a minoritary power, the Southern Germans were absolutely NOT going to give in in any point whatsoever. They know their nation to be stronger, therefore, they refuse to give in. Right now they would be ruling this very city if it were not for the fact that the Middle Eastern friends saved us once from them and would save us again. Yes, if they someday are able to fight a winnable war against us, they WILL take our land and they WILL take away our culture and language from us, and force us to comply, force us to agree with them forever. Their goal is our demise.

They are not alone in this. There are the peoples in Lübeck. Lübeck is the most vile of the German enemies by far. Lübeck is a country in which legislation exists to discriminate Germans and Nordlanders. The Odal Rune is forbidden. This means that our Religion is forbidden. Nordlandic script, which involves an odal, is also forbidden. Nordlandic language is additionally further forbidden. Being German and going to their nation is forbidden. Our ships cannot near their waters. If Northern Germany did ANYTHING of the above, how long would it last on the world? Not a day. Their people are regularily indoctrinated to hate Germany. Their leader is simply unreasonable at every level. They have forced their own people to accept a Danish identity, while retaining the name Lübeck in order to weakly try to get any shed of legitimacy in owning our Land. The Ü character doesn't even exist in danish! We have here a completely artificial nation! Their leader is nothing but a mob boss that is held there as a puppet. There are many nations that directly or indirectly support Lübeck's existance. Because if we attacked them, we'd be "uncivilized" or we'd be being "Nords", even though we never used that word to describe our own people. If we struck them, they'd strike us, because it'd be the "right" thing to do, to oppose against violence. But I say, that given the many constant grievances and artificiality of the Lübeck state, what truly is violent is to force the status quo on Germany. This is a stain in our honor which we cannot and will never forgive - not the government, but our folk. Lübeck has sealed us away from our families, alienated their culture and language forcefully, forbade them from being who they are...and the world supports them widely in their every attempt! Never do they remember that Mainland Lübeck (OOC: Northern RL Germany and the part of denmark which is attached to mainland europe, not the islands) had been German for such a long time - ever since the Silver Revolution, 74 years ago, only until the fall of Nordland. sure, the Islands are something that could be discussed - the islands for the most part did conserve danish identity - but the rest were first Deutscher and then Nordlandiske. They have been a core land, and even one of the hearts of our Revolution and Culture, and ultimately the primary homeland of the ancient Germanic peoples. Not to mention that Hamburg, of which we own only the southern half, was the Imperial Family's most important city. The only insult which can be compared to this is to understand that the most powerful country which defends Lübeck no matter what is Southern Germany, even though that they claim to be allied to us as well, they support the one and only true enemy which we do have, they are by all means their puppets - the Lübeck government knows that they'll be defended no matter what, and because of this they are always boldened, for we cannot touch them. For now. One can only conclude that Southern Germany actively supports actions that harm the interests of Northern Germany. I am certain that our Government is only allied to Southern Germany to secure nonagression, but I view this as cowardly and state that this treaty should be cancelled immediately. And if they want to invade us, so be it! One fine day, they will have pushed us too far! And then the Furor Teutonicus will awake!

Lübeck is a state that should not exist. The Mainland Part should be Germany, and the rest should merge with Norweigan and Sweden to form Scandinavia. That should be the end of it. But our Government is powerless to achieve this. That is my mission, to restore order in Germany. The current Hegemony will only be able to opress us for so long. In the end our Panzers will roll from Hamburg to Aalburg again. I am sure that the Government still seeks this. But I resent them to seek this secretly rather than openly, boldly, like the Einherjar should. Remember what I always say. NEVER COMPROMISE!"

"But first, there is one last thing I must tell to every skeptic here and outside of Germany. Much of what I say may seem to some not to make sense. But there is one last piece in this puzzle. This puzzle is Lynneth Sarkara, the leader of Southern Germany. This person once ruled a Rational Communist nation in...north America. This person once invaded Germany amphibiously with no reason for war. He nuked our coasts in order to break through the mines. He invaded a large portion of Germany before being pushed back. He was then put to trial and we...we were wrong. We should have killed him. Instead, we gave him fair trial and lat him go. In the end, he got what he wanted: The same Lynneth Sarkara now controls a large portion of Germany, has the same political system even. He is not even German at all, so I cannot comprehend his obsession. He is an invader. I personally declare war on him and urge you to do the same. Tell me, does it still sound so farfetched to think as I do now?"

"The man who controls GDR today is the same one that had invaded and nuked Germany years ago! Loki triumphed!"

Soon, he would get a new nickname, Grotte Pier, after Donia. He was too a gigantic Frisian and a Rebel...

-----------

And so, he would get popular as time went by, making speeches similar to this one at different points, different cities. The Government took note of it, but it had a firm policy of not censoring anyone, so they allowed him to go on. "We can't just jail him." Martens was rumored to have said. Popularity rose, and so did animosity. The situation had been known for a long time, but Germany had been troubled by internal issues...these issues were no more. Lübeck was now known as "Germania Irredenta"

Michael removed the small bud from his ear allowing the microspeaker to rest upon the desk before him. While his blood ties to the German nation while direct, were distant- he found the speaker moving. It was an interesting analysis of the Southern-Northern German relationship, and the composition/origin of the southern German government to say the least. He tagged the topic on his tablet, he'd ponder it further.

In the Ducal Palace of Dijon, Karl Martin looked up from his newspaper at the man sitting across the desk from him. The man had a khaki uniform, like he was from a communist country, and black sunglasses that completely hid the eyes.

"What do you make of this, sir?"

Talking a puff from his cigarette, the sunglassed man replied in a low, malicious voice: "Drang nach Westlich ist zu Ende. Das ist jetzt Zeit für Drang nach Norden und Süden."

"Oh this is just grand." Christos said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "First, half the world jumps on Tahoe for no reason what so ever. Now, we have this upstart rabble rousing against two nations, threatening to plunge the continent into chaos again." He shook his head. "Ok, so, what are we going to do while we sit here and watch?"

"Well, there's not much we can do." said the Foreign Secretary. "The WEU limits what we can do to actions involving the member nations only." He looked down at a sheet in his binder. "None of the nations mentioned have anything to do with us. About the only thing that we could do is offer Aquataine our help in fortifying and defending their borders, should that become needed."

DeSchaine nodded. "Approved. Also, this probably wont do any good, but send a letter to Martens. Ask him to kindly get control of things before it devolves into a test of arms. I do not want to see any more cities glowing in the dark."

"It seems some things need to be cleared up."
They have Visarist Industry, Technology, Nuclear weapons
"Former Nordland industry was the base of our expansion. We are by now vastly outproducing the entirety of former Nordland in almost every sense. The industrial buildings from Visariist times have been replaced with more efficient and cleaner facilities.
Our technology isn't even close to what Nordland had, and is in fact derived mostly from equipment Singaporean troops brought with them when their nation was destroyed by a nuclear catastrophe. Did the Visariists have fusion power plants? Did they have battleships with main guns that had a range of over 600 kilometers? Did they have stealth planes with radar profiles smaller than a mosquito? No, no and no. The original base may have been Visariist. What is there now doesn't even resemble it anymore.
Regarding the nuclear weapons, only one was used in the entirety of our time, during our civil war."
create a Big Brother Government: For it is known widely that all citizens of Southern Germany have bracelets which log their every move, notify their government of their positions and actions all the time, in that, Southern Germany has achieved the true dream of Communism and National Socialism alike that not even Napoleon, Stalin, Hitler and the ancient United States of America could ever dream of creating: The pinnacle of omnipresential Government. "You are vastly exaggerating the capabilities of the armbands. They do not log their every move. They do not notify the government of their positions and actions all the time, only when the person in question is a criminal or suspected criminal and authority to use the tracking capabilities has been given by a judge. The government is not omnipresent. There are no cameras on every corner of the streets, only in large public places where terrorist attacks are the most likely. In addition, it is not necessary to wear the armband at all times. If you are in private, be it at home or at a friend's home, you are allowed to take it off. Some do it, some don't. It's like wearing a watch."
but then they are the ones who had a war against the Martencists internally, and murdered every single one of them. [...]
[...]murdering thousands of people for having a different idea.
"We did not start the civil war, and they were no Martencists, something even your government has confirmed back then. They were extremists of the worst kind, they were racist, xenophobe and extremely militant. They attacked our nation and citizens, killing tens of thousands within the first hours of their attack. They raped and pillaged, quite literally, much like it is said Vikings did in their time of prime. They refused diplomacy, didn't want to talk, only to destroy our government and impose one that would've been worse than anything you can possibly imagine.
They nuked Innsbruck.
Not all were killed, and we tried rehabilitating those that we could. Others, who refused to change got a fair trial for their actions and were imprisoned for a time or put to death, depending on dozens of factors.
We mourned the deaths of our kin more than you imagine, and still do."
referred to themselves as Romans in spite of not being Roman in any shape or form.
"Delusional thinking of a man who wanted to be Emperor."
All that it ever had to do was mantaining the preexistant Nordlandic Economy going, which was easy due to the land downsize.
"The original economy of Nordland isn't even close to what we have now, to the standards of living we have, to the technological advances we have achieved. But we mentioned that before."
Their goal is our demise.
"Our goal is a Germany united in peace, a Germany that is a bastion of hope for mankind."
This person once invaded Germany amphibiously with no reason for war.
"Do note that at the time, I was mentally sick and essentially clinically insane. Only time and long hours of therapy cured me, and I do regret that I ever let it come as far as it did. I wouldn't have attacked you if I'd been of sound mind. But alas, I was not, and a coup deposed of me, rightfully.
That aside, you should've noticed that a young maned of russian descent is moving for the position of Chairman. I will most likely be voted out of office within this year. Then there is nothing more you have to fear from me."

Take it from someone who actually knows German and lives in the nation. :V
Also, translated it means:
""The drive towards the west is ending. Now it is time for the drive into the north and south."

Please provide translations for non-english sentences you write, Karl Martin, as it's technically a warnable offense to not provide a translation.

OOC: No, but he probably is a more reliable authority on how to speak/write German than someone who learned it as a second language in another country, and he was just trying to help correct your statement... I don't know where you grew up, so I won't make any assumptions beyond that. Even so though... putting down his provincial identity, really? If you thought he was being arrogant with this ethnicity, asserting yourself with some sort of sentiment based in prussian supremacy is probably a bit hypocritical.

And you still got "Westlich" wrong. And "Das ist".

Perhaps I failed, perhaps I didn't. Anyways, you're assuming too much if you think that I believe I'm better than everyone else just because of that statement. I know German better than most non-native speakers, being a German and all, just like most native speakers of English know it better than I do.
Silly man.

The German Government becomes more interested in the situation once that the Southern German Government actually replies against the accusations, and sends a message stating once more that while Southern Germany is in its right to reply against "Grote Pier"'s statements, that they should keep in mind that he does not show the German Government's views...

And that in fact, it's better if they do not pay attention to him at all. The German Government doesn't seem to want this guy to become popular. The least attention he receives, the better for North and South.

In the end, Pier's reply was sent soon:

"They have admitted to have used Visarist achievements as their base. Even though that they say that what they have today is different, that is only because if one is to think about it, both Germanies have "built" and "advanced" in almost the same proportion when compared to one another, but the South has a massive advantage due to having used Visarism. Northern Germany cannot possibly ever catch up. But the main point is that the RatComs' government system is overrated. If they had started with an even base, both countries would be nearly the same."

"Firstly you say that the armbands cannot in fact do what I said that they can do, but in the next sentence, you admit that in fact they do have the capabilities which I described, which are, if we are to trust your institutions, only active when crime is involved...I am skeptical of anything like that, I will remain skeptical, for of course that while in paper it looks fine, in the end, no other government in the entire world has the capacity of controlling their population in such a strict manner as yours. Only a government paranoid and fearful of their own people would do that, like keeping wolves in a leash to turn them into dogs."

"The fact that you would compare those in the uprising to Vikings shows your lack of understanding of their culture. It is easy to say that they wanted a worse government, since in reality, we will never know now, will we? After all, if they were good, where would be your legitimacy to have murdered them? They NEED to have been evil and "viking-like" in order for you to have some reason to have done what you did, other than admitting that they simply wanted a system other than your own brand of extremism as seen today and every day."

"The south says that it wants to be a bastion of hope for mankind. A hope for what? The only good qualities that Southern Germany has are its military and its technology. In all other aspects it is the most backwards country in the planet. In the end, they do not mean what they say. First, they admit to have had an insane emperor, now they have an insane leader, or at least, one which used to be insane. It seems that having and creating insane leaders is a tradition in Southern Germany. If you think about it, Visari was a Bavarian too!"

"You be a bastion for this Mankind. We are not so ambitious that we want to have worldly relevance. We're here just for Germany and its Allies. We are deeply allied to Southern Germany, but their government is our most fierce enemy. One day we will be able to free Southern Germany. One day you'll see that your big brother armband and your flashy technology is no match for the enraged masses, the crude explosives and the blunt lead. And then your People will stop being your Slaves!"

IC: Members of the Preußische Eiserne Brigade began following Pier, not so much that they were convinced with all of his arguments, but more because they thought of him as a Kamerad who was now perhaps risking his life to speak his mind, and the mind of the average North German.

"Leclerc."
"Yes, what is it?"
"The man's a nuisance. Probably just a crazy, but you know how them crazies are."
"They get support from the strangest groups of people."
"Indeed."
"So, what'd you like to do?"
"Does Laura have any assignment right now?"
"Lau-...You do know he'll be turned into a martyr by his few supporters, right? It'll be obvious we killed him."
"Who cares? There'll be no proof; We'll deny everything, and I'm sure the northern government will be grateful for removing a potential threat to their power. He'd have rallied the people to fight against us for no real reason."
"If we let him be, he may just fade back into-"
"Unfortunately, I don't want to take the risk of him becoming well-known. As of now, his supporters number in the dozens. In a few weeks, it may be hundreds."
"As you wish..." Leclerc sighed. "I'll talk to Laura."
"Thank you."

"Laura. Laura, wake up."
"Nhnn...Wha..? What time is it"
"Three in the morning."
"Jesus Christ, why're you waking me this early?"
"Because you're needed."
"Argh...Lemme get up first, then you can talk to me. Now get out."
Leclerc nodded and left the room. After the door was closed again, the girl got out of her bed, clothes only in underwear, much like how she dropped into bed. She moved towards her bathroom, rivaling a glacier in speed - or lack of it. Once inside her bathroom, routine set in and the combed her hair, brushed her teeth, did everything that was necessary to make her look somewhat presentable.
After almost half an hour, she got out of the bathroom once more and began dressing herself, putting on clothes that were as comfortable as they could possibly be while also doubling as battery and "health-meter" as well as a few other things.
Finally, she left the room, now clad in fresh underwear, which wasn't visible due to dark green trousers and a yellow pullover, showing the perfection of ignorance with fashion she had.

"So?"
"We've a mission for you."
"Let me guess: That anti-Visari, anti-GDR $@! talking crap about us just because we have a few advanced IDs instead of old-fashioned stuff?"
"Exactly that man."
"I'll get my gun."
"I...Uh, okay."
"You didn't think I'll get to it this quickly, did you?"
"Well, no, I didn't. You're usually a very lazy girl."
"Only because few people are like that Pier guy. Just looking at him makes me want to punch his face into a pulp, so if I get the chance to make him die, I obviously take it."
"Okay, okay, just be careful. The north Germans don't know you exist, and they'll think we did this."
"No evidence, et cetera. The usual. I speak perfect Nordic, as well as a load of other languages, so there shouldn't be much of a problem with me getting wherever I need to."
"Just don't die."
"No worries, dad."
She grinned and hugged the scientist, then walked in a swift pace towards the armory.

________________

Once in the armory, the young lady would take all the weapons she'd likely need for this mission. A GDAR 21 rifle, carbine version, a pistol and her M-98 Witwe AM sniper rifle, ammunition included for each weapon. Once that was acquired, she moved to get into actual combat gear, not quite what soldiers in the NPA or Amber Guard would wear for combat missions, though. She put clothes on that were made almost solely from merging carbon-fiber and boron with a flexible but strong metamaterial, the effect being that those clothes were as strong as comparably thick tank armour, yet made from much more flexible and light material, weighting a mere 6 kilograms for a full-body uniform. One could safely say that it was not only one of the lightest protections of its type, but also the strongest, surpassing even the famed "Dragon skin" which could stop .308 rounds from a sniper rifle firedfrom 2 meters away.
The girl now was clothed in what looked like a simple digital urban camo uniform made from the material, at the time somewhat costly, but more affordable than the uniform of the Amber Guard and more powerful to boot, the only negative being that it didn't have the HAL exoskeleton built in.
Once everything was done, she left to the heliport which was outside of the complex, a stealth helicopter already waiting for her.

It took off, and soon she was on the way into the north.

Killing him should not be that difficult. One advantage was that, after all, it was common to walk around in military gear and even carrying guns over in Northern Germany. As long as the outfit and weapons did not seem too advanced, it would not raise suspicion. An unexpected side effect of the land's militarism...

The Target would go on with his life. Once that Laura cared to perhaps look into the situation, he'd notice the simple routine. He'd spend his days either training at his camp together with his most loyal supporters, which were by then thirty, and even had bought an old army surplus tank for training purposes: The man ment business. The rest of the time he'd spend reading books, mostly of history, to be able, so he hoped, to improve his speech. Twice a week he would move to a radio station to make his speeches public. Radio was for the most part unregulated by the state, excepting in the cases in which signals may overlap and block each other...so he had a perfect tool to make himself widely known. It was probably a wise decision to...disable him.

In reality, the own North German government was close to considering such a thing...their own secret police had infiltrated this organization recently, and it was being seriously considering to murder him too. In Pier's paranoia, he realized that this was likely to happen, but in the end, he did not seem to have enough common sense to stop. Instead, his verbal attacks against the south would grow in intensity and would become more elaborate, as if to disguise his utter disgust with his intellect in order to seem more reasonable. The worst thing was that people seemed to be buying it. Although he was an extremist, most people seemed to say: "Yes, he is a bit crazy, but he has a point."

The Chancellor believed that this would potentially disrupt his long term plans. This pawn would not be allowed to queen.

The Preußische Eiserne Brigade member who had been "following" Schmidt was getting uncomfortable with the overall situation. The man reminded them of a certain Austrian who had once led the Vaterland toward the most destructive downfall ever faced for a nation, and the natural hatred for the "beloved" southern neighbor was getting too much to bear. Yet, this demagogue was doing more to turn the north towards the true view of the world, and for that he needed to be credited.

Some of the more radical leaders of the Brigade decided to step up the level of protection. If anyone was to get this man, that person would ahve to go through iron to do it.

Luckily, neither uniform nor weapons looked crazy futuristic; They were merely built very well.
The stealth helicopter would fly below radar, in the middle of the night and away from all known patrols or outposts, into North Germany. Setting her down some 30 kilometers away from the city in which the target was, it would then return back into its home nation, in similar (relative) silence and stealthiness. To get home, Laura would have to hike, but she had enough money in her pockets to buy food here and there.

For the time being, however, the girl would move towards Pier's home city, guns in their optimal positions for her to travel. Getting to the city wouldn't take more than three hours or so, and it'd still be dark by then.

After Laura had landed, Pier had already finished with his Sümbel, and then the meeting had dissipated, each going to either a home or a hotel - In Pier's case, a hotel. Whenever he woke up, many hours later, he would move back to his Camp - his true home - just in the outskirts of the city to then go back to routine. In these moments, he would be alone. He had parked his Tankette at the hotel parking lot, too.

In spite of being relatively drunk, before he went to sleep he took out some paper to write down several notes related to what they had spoken in that evening, which he would later use for his book. He stuffs the paper and pen in an inner pocket of his uniform's coat, removes his boats and more or less passes out at the hotel bed. After midday he'd wake up. He thought that he had found inspiration for a new rant.

Laura decided that for once, she'd try not using her sniper - which had been changed from the original "oh god so loud" to one of the more silent sniper rifles, with little of what was known as 'muzzle flash'. These changes were being done in the rest of the GDR as well, as the psychological effect of the weapon wasn't as great as they'd hoped, and thus the noise was useless, being covered up by modifications to the weapons.
Regardless, she followed Pier to his hotel when he next went there, in silence and far enough away that it would be hard even seeing her. Making sure he was completely alone, she'd approach and wait for him to fall asleep.

Then, she'd carefully utilize her skills and break into the hotel room and close the door behind her. She'd take out her pistol and bring a chair to sit down besides the bed, then looks for weapons under the pillow or other such locations...Very carefully.
She'd wait for him to wake, pointing the pistol at his head when he did so, waiting for him to realize there was someone in his room, a someone that was most likely very hostile.

He slept with a gun on his hand, visibly. Probably not a good idea. Either way, it would be insufficient to ensure his survival. By the time that he would realize what had happened, it'd be too late...he had opened his eyes to stand up and head for the bathroom, but saw Laura. He did not even try to raise his gun to attack her - she was aiming already. Instead, he smiled and emitted a very vulgar phrase. The man was classy. And soon, when shepressed the trigger, he would also be dead.

However, after this had happened, another Tankette had parked by Pier's. A minute later, two Comrades had approached his room and saw the broken lock as they had taken out their keys. They look at each other and prepare their own guns, one hunting rifle and one revolver.

By then, the Gestapo had noticed what was happening. They were monitoring the Hotel Entrance. They had not noticed Laura, but they had noticed the Tankette as its registration number had previously been identified as belonging to Pier's group. In the room opposite, a man peeks through the door eyehole to see the suspicious situation, unaware of Pier's death, and separately in the building opposite a group of 6 other officers moved forwards in the night to quickly try to inspect the Tankettes for anything illegal. While they were doing this, they were then notified by the operative in the opposite door of the suspicious situation. At this rate, probably Pier's own men would end up being blamed for the kill.

OOC: I'd actually planned on them walking with each other for a bit after Laura looked for weapons (and removed them, forgot explicitely writing that). But whatever.
:V

IC:

The girl, having been augmented with many things, amongst them her ears, heard the two men at the door.
To exit via a window or another such location was imperative now, and she thus looked for such a location. Upon finding it, she'd use it and climb to the roof of the building to assess the situation. If there was a chance of getting away without being seen, she'd take it; Otherwise, she would wait.
In the case that no exit was to be found, she'd hide as best she could to leave when nobody was aware of her and busy with other things. Such a situation might happen if the men of the Gestapo were busy subjugating the two friends of Pier's, but any other opportunity was good enough. The only important thing: Get away, preferrably without being seen.

OOC: Oh...

IC:

The men enter the room quickly, being well trained as soldiers covering each area of the room. However, she was at the moment in the room nearby. They call out, "Pier!" And immediately advance towards the next room, their guns aiming and ready to fire. She can notice that there's two windows just over the bed at her reach, closed. Outside, the search on the vehicles continues for several more seconds, until they give up and start to walk back. They look up at Pier's window and see nothing, for the light is still off, then they go back to their hiding spot in the ground floor of the opposite building and wait for Pier's comrades to leave the hotel. They keep HQ updated. Still noticing nothing special.

OOC: Talking actually, but a walk might've been nice too...Anyways.

IC:

The girl holsters the pistol, darts to the closest window, opens it and slips out, starting to climb to the roof. From holstering to climbing, it would be five seconds at most, almost the entire time in nearly complete silence and without much of a sound, aside from the window opening.
Luckily, even if the two saw her climbing out and fired, they'd hit only armored locations; The only part of her body not covered with the powerful carbin fiber-boron cloth was her head, on which she wore a helmet of sorts, though unlike what soldiers usually wore, more reminiscent of high-tech specOps in various video games (Sam Fisher might be an example).
Regardless of bullets hitting her torso or feet, she'd continue - potentially with some pain from the impact itself, but none from the actual bullets - to climb onto the roof, where she would then activate infrared and look around for heat sources - meaning people - around the building.

OOC: I thought it was going to be a thing of "as soon as he waked up she shots him in the face"

IC:

The quiet was then over. Pier's people saw her, although they did not get a clear shot on her. The secret services saw her too, but nobody seemed to know who she was. They took out their comms device, which included a camera, and took a couple of pictures, then they yelled "HALT!" and tried to fire...they hit her, yes, but the bullets don't seem to do much other than giving her a little push. To add to the confusion, Pier's comrades soon move out of the windows and shoot up towards her, but in spite of the closer range, it does nothing. Not considering the obvious danger implied, they chase after her.

HQ is notified of the situation instantly. The satellites move to focus onto that roof, and see, although do not understand, what is going on. Still, no matter what would happen from now on, her mission had been accomplished.

OOC: Too bad, but can't be changed.

IC:
With her climbing up the roof, the policemen would only get a few nice pictures of her back and shapely rear end.
The bullets from the comrades did make her struggle somewhat, one hitting her arm so she almost fell, but in the end, she made it to the roof.
'God, do I love this suit,' she thought to herself as she put the IR mask on, which incidentially covered her entire face due to having other visual modes as well as a gas mask integrated.
She looked around for an opening around the building and, as soon as there was one, she'd try to get to that, by climbing down the building, to five meters above the ground and jumping from there. Then, she ran.
And goddamned, did she run.
