Athens through its historical ties with Rebel Army had always been in favor of Deutschland, especially with the other Germany being friendly towards them too it was decided to be best for both nations to extend a hand of friendship and diplomacy. As such a letter was send to the North German government
Your excellency,

Recently I have learned more about your country and I have found that there are several historical and current ties that justify a diplomatic meeting to benefit both our great countries. Thus I would like to invite you to attend a meeting in Athens between myself and your delegation to work out the future of both our countries and perhaps even get a more formal relation. I hope you are willing to come.

Yours sincerely,
Nikita Akhatova,
President of the Athenian Federation.
Again Martens on the flight. He had just returned from Aquitaine and now he was headed for the Hellenic Territories. Again the trustworthy Raptor, after receiving its maintenance, headed for a new destination - Athens. It seemed that Northern Germany was no longer a pariah in the international community, and that at last it had achieved stability enough to draw interest.

The plane announces itself to the control towers and lands easily. Soon the Chancellor will be brought before the President. He was in his best uniform, however, he did not boast a large number of medals and other paraphernalia: It was elegant, not over the top, somewhat minimalist if you will.

"Good evening, President." He says, and then nods respectfully.

"Welcome to the Athenian Federation your excellency"she said as they went for the conference room.

"As you know well our people have not been direct friends in a long time however we have seen your actions of recent, we also feel you to be a trustworthy nation in an unstable Europe. In this meeting we can decide how we want to go on with each other." Nikita said as various kinds of coffee and tea were brought in from which the Chancellor could chose.

He would pick tea. He was rather fond of it.

"Ah, so you understand too? I have spoken to many. The majority seem to believe that Europe is, in fact, stable. It is nice to see that I am not the only one that notices the shaky nature of the current politics. We had no time to look outside. We were a part of the tremor ourselves. Now we have the chance to find common ground with other nations, in this case, the Athenians. The stable nations need to reach out for one another while the other ones remain as if badly placed bricks when compared to solid columns. At least innerly."

He sips from the tea when it is ready. He nods in approval.

"Our policy is simple. We give what we get in most cases. But nowadays we try a little extra to do things right and create possible friendships. Is there anything we could do to help you out? We'd be glad."

"That is our policy too Kanzler, Europe is a dangerous and unstable place, it has been home of too many power blocs and more continue to be created. I like the idea of the stable nations helping each other. That said there is an issue where we can use your help, as you probably know the Union of Bulgaria is rising in armed rebellion. There currently is a reasonable German minority there, I feel German soldiers there might help to keep them quiet so the Athenian Forces can aim at the Bulgarian nationalists preventing innocent deaths. If possible would you be willing to send a detachment of a few hundred soldiers? They will be taken care of of course. We will happily repay the favor when you are in need"

"It would be a honor for us to be allowed to do that. I had heard about the unrest. Anything we can do to minimize the issues in the Region is useful not only to yourselves but also to us, for then we can put our soldiers to good use, helping stabilize. Though it may be a little selfish to protect just the Germans there. If you need us to help anywhere else, we'll do so gladly."

"That help is really welcome and your commanders are free to communicate with my own, on a different note the more formal relationships. The Assembly of the People has authorized me to negotiate a treaty going as high as a Mutual Defense and Optional Aggression Pact. If you yourself are willing to discuss this I would gladly talk about the exact terms"

"We are indeed willing to discuss that, and, in fact, it would give our stabilization operations even more legitimacy. So it would help even in that regards. Which terms would specifically be needed?"

In the meantime, with a free hand, Martens starts to prepare a few orders related to the intervention through his personal comms device, just to get things ready beforehand.

Nikita opened a laptop on the table and started to enter some notes.

"I propose, non-aggression, mutual defense, optional aggression, military access rights and lowering of tariffs or even a complete free trade. What do you think?"

"Very well, we will adapt the draft in such a way that the economic portions can be decided upon." she said as she gave the notes to an aid who would come with the draft a few minutes later.

"Very well, I shall sign the treaty myself too then, in regards to the American Issue. We support the Northern Republic against the FSA"
