A 6 Gy dose of radiation will result in bone marrow destruction and death of multiplying cells, surely their all-too-important brains would die? Living cells are required if an organism wants to live. An deadly dose of radiation would destroy cells' ability to multiple, resulting in the organism shrinking to the point where it can no longer live, and utter DNA/cellular components destruction. That results in the cells being unable to produce functioning proteins to repair itself, and unable to function at all since its parts (such as the mitochondria, the parts responsible for converting amino acids, carbohydrates, and lipid into energy) are being demolished left and right without any ways of repairing them. That includes sensitive brain cells (the inter-neurons, the ones that process the signals and decide what to send to the motor neurons) since they lack the ability to multiply and replace dying/dead cells/ Without any living cells, the organism (aka human) can not move or even eat by itself without external help. But there won't be any cure for these zombies and not everyone should survive this. I'm going to have an interesting little outbreak on Guam later that will basically highlight this. Everyone is at risk. Every single person. Also, governments would not know specifically what was going on right from the start. This isn't something that has happened before. They wouldn't just be like "oh, zombie invasion, let's shoot them all in the head". Come on, guys. This is meant to be a long-term, quality, character RP. Let's not deaden it by being like "oh, we know what's going on, quarantine everything blah blah blah". In World War Z the US had a while to prepare and they still almost lost the entire country. Iceland was fully infected. Israel only survived because of building walls around the entire country. Nations only survived because of a plan that sacrificed civilians as they pulled back. This is not pretty business. This is not "a simple quarantine will stop it all." Let's try and be, for once, realistic in our responses to something.
