Azaghul
A friend and I are trying to make a population calculator, but we don't know how the environment enters into the formula. Does anybody know?
TheBFG
I've always thought that the only relationship between the 2 was that having a high population density (which includes citizens and military) gives a bad environment. I didn't think that a bad environment lead to less citizens, but I could be wrong. (bad already environment leads to less happy people, so it has an effect on income). Drai
I think it affects the number of citizens you have, but very slightly, I know I went down a couple citizens when I went from 5 stars to 4 1/2 stars once, but if this is the same pattern, then it's really nothing to worry about as you'll lose no more than 15-20 citizens between 5 stars and 1 star. Lord Bwalla III
yeah. i believe it's the happiness you want to worry about the most. Although it doesn't really effect happiness that much either.
Count Rupert
Aside from the slight change in citizens that Drai noted, you suffer a drop in happiness of .4 for every point over 1 your environment score is.
Azaghul
It is a very small factor, so it's not particularly important to worry about. I was just curios what the formula is in order to make a calculator more accurate.
Scorp
It's so tiny a value that I'd think that leaving it out would still be accurate enough.
Stylesjl
40 citizens I think. But I don't know if that is affected by population modifiers

True, and that's what we ended up doing. It's just the perfectionist in me. Land also affects population fyi. Yup, 1 citizen per 4.5 miles.
