Malatose
Michael Visari, Autarch of Greater Dalmatia stood in the shadows, reading over his notes. Tonight, he would deliver his annual "Greater Power" speech to the Dalmatia legislature, a speech usually used for propaganda means. But tonight was different, his speech didn't contain the usual nationalistic tones, it would be a speech to deliver change to a nation. I would to announce the leader of the Greater Dalmatia state, Michael Visari! Michael Visari heard his name, and walked onto the stage. Behind him waved the flags of the various nationalities of Dalmatia. Infront of him, stood the massive eagle of the Dalmatia state. He soon began to speak. My friends, When I took power two years ago, this state was in turmoil. The monarchy had been overthrown, the economy was on the verge of collapse, and there was civil unrest everywhere. I worked hard to eliminate all of this, but the hardliners in the government stopped my every move. I then declared Martial Law, enacting the Emergency Powers Act. It was the only way I could rule without constantly being thwarted by those misguided hundreds. During my time as Autarch, I have introdruced hundreds of decrees, reforming the Nordic Socialist Party. I enacted bills to improve the economy and the standard of living in the country improved drastically. With all those things accomplished, I can say I have achieved all my goals. Those on the outside saw my elevation to the position of Autarch as a power grab. Those next door to us yelled that the Nordic menace was growing under another Visari. Yet, I had but one goal in mine. To end the suffering of the people of Dalmatia by any means. The suffering of my people has ended. Therefore, on this cold night, I hereby announce the following. Number One: The Eurasian Union has served it's purpose in Europe. But it is no longer a viable entity, and I feel that Dalmatia would be better off without it. Therefore, I announce Greater Dalmatia will activate the withdrawal clause in the Eurasian Union treaty. Number Two: The Nordic Socialist Party in all Dalmatia has served it's ultimate purpose. I, hereby, announce it's official dissolution. As a Visari, and son of Scolar Visari, I call to all Nordic Socialist branches in Europe to cease operations. Number Three: And finally, I announce that I am relinquishing the powers given to me by the Emergency Powers Act. The position of Autarch of Greater Dalmatia is, hereby, dissolved. In it's place, I will be forming the office of Prime Minister and President of Dalmatia. Elections are to begin in Dalmatia at once. I have done my part. Now people of Dalmatia, it is time for you to do yours! After reading his speech, the flag of the former Nordic Socialist state rised into the air, to be replaced by the new flag of Dalmatia. A new flag, representing its new path in history. Edited January 8, 2010 by Malatose
