Botha
NEW NATIONAL HIGHWAY SYSTEM OPENS Staatspresident Botha today inaugurated Transvaal brand-new National Highway System (Nasionale Snelwegsisteem). Jokingly nicknamed the Auto-Boer by Transvaal’s English speakers, the new ‘N’ highway network is expected to ease infrastrure strain and associated costs on Transvaal’s antiquated steam railroad system by 8%. N1 – Cape Town to Beaufort West to Bloemfontein to Johannesburg KM 1 – Johannesburg to Pretoria (the old Kaiser Martens Highway, this section of N1 goes by the highway code of KM1 in reflection of its previous name) N2 – Walvis Bay/Swakopmund to Windhoek to Ghanzi to Kanye to Gaborone to Pretoria to Witbank to Nelspruit to Maputo N3 – Cape Town to Mossel Bay to Plettenburg Bay to Port Elizabeth to East London to Bloemfontein N4 – Cape Town to Windhoek BOERSTAAT REBELLION BREAKS OUT White supremacists under the leadership of Karl van Zyl rose in rebellion against what they deemed “the traitorous collaborationist regime in Pretoria” and proclaimed a “whites only” separatist state in the Northern Cape region of the republic where “racial purity laws and segregation would be practiced to the fullest”. Prime Minister Annetjie van Matteus issued a statement where she said that “no mercy will be shown towards these terrorists against the Republic” and that all military measures would be used to crush the rebels. According to scattered unconfirmed reports, Krygsmagte and Boerstaat troops clashed in Kimberley and both sides suffered high casualties. Sources inside the Krygsmagte say that “over 12,000 of our soldiers were killed in strikes against entrenched enemy positions” and that “we estimate 13,000 thousand enemy rebels have been killed”. EVACUATION OF MOGADISHU In prior agreement with Carthage, the Transvaler Krygsmagte began evacuation of the Mogadishu enclave in preparation for its handover in the next twenty-four hours. “The Carthaginians agreed to compensate us for the lease paid to the former Repubblica Italiana colonial government in Somalia in return for our early departure. TAHOE BASE TO OPEN IN SWAKOPMUND Foreign Minister Hendrik Strijdom announced today that the Tahoe Republic had reached agreement with Pretoria to construct an air force base just outside of the Namibian resort town of Swakopmund. Lavo
SIC Lavo Shalam looked at the report his aid gave him. He was anything but amused. It was only weeks ago that Rafael Corrnea had negotiated a short-lived peace in the America, by pulling out Ecuador's pilots and aircraft, to appease Tahoe. Now those same people were opening an airbase, in Africa, on territory that was not even a part of their own country. Shalam smiled and thought to himself. "So he wants to play this game, eh? Well then, it's time to deal out some cards." Public "Tahoe's establishment of a foreign air base in Africa is hypocritical, to say the very least. It was not too long ago that Rebel Army pulled out Ecuadorian pilots and aircraft from their homeland, in order to meet the demands of Tahoe, in the interests of maintaining peace and avoiding war in the Americas. Now, the Tahoe Republic is doing the exact same thing it had attempted to prevent, and had threatened military action over. No, let me correct myself, this is worse as the air base in question is not on Tahoean soil, but a foreign country. Noting this, we formally petition Tahoe to cease the construction and manning of this air base, least they appear to the world as hypocrites due to their conflicting actions and positions." Botha
TO THE CARTHAGINIAN GOVERNMENT: The last of our Krygsmagte troops will depart from Mogadishu tonight as agreed. Our Seemag deployment will probably leave in the next couple of days once all our personal are safely back in the Republic. Your troops and personal are welcome to begin moving into the enclave now as all our remaining troops are located at the airport terminal waiting for transports to arrive so they can return home. We see no interference or problem with your personal to commence their occupation of the zone. Also proceed to make the appropriate political announcements and diplomatic necessities (i.e. World Map changes) and our government will verify them. At some point in the future, the Republic of Transvaal would like to look into a resumption of diplomatic relations with Carthage (AKA Sargunian Republic). Vedran
"This sudden rebellion by radical racist groups is shocking. On the bright side, whenever radicals are angered, it shows that somebody is doing right." - Vedran The Arcticans trusted that their neighbors could handle the conflict, but still watched new developments coming out of that area carefully. SpacingOutMan
It is a pleasure to see our neighbors in the south continuing their good work in infrastructural advancements. However, we, like the Rebel Army, hereby condemn the actions of Tahoe as it is clearly hypocritical to force one to nearly demilitarize an entire region in one sphere, and then go along and create a militarized region in the sphere it acted against. Botha
NIEU-HANSA HANDED OVER TO HANSA The Republic of Transvaal announced this evening that the Government will terminate the Autonomous Province of Nieu-Hansa on December 26, 2009 and will transfer ownership of the Cocos-Keeling Islands to the Hanseatic Commonwealth. A territorial anomaly in the Indian Ocean, the islands have been in the possession of Transvaal since September 28, 2008 when Franzharia handed them over on the empire’s disbandment of its Indian Ocean territories. They then remained an isolated and distant part of the Indian Ocean Province until October 12, 2009 when Staatspresident Botha established the Autonomous Province under the governorship of Sarah Tintagyl. BOERSTAAT RESISTANCE FALTERING The Boerstaat rebellion in the Northern Cape has shown signs of running out of steam as most of its supporters recognized their weak position and imminent defeat, abandoning the still-mysterious leadership and began negotiations en masse for a termination of the conflict. While gaining initial massive support, bloody engagements with the Krygsmagte have seemed to have broken the will of all but the most staunch supporters. Prime Minister van Matteus said that “rank and file members would be dealt with leniency as most were simply agitated at the government in general. The core leadership, when apprehended and identified, however will face charges of high treason.”
Lavo
Seeing as Tahoe has declined to comment or halt the construction of the air base in Transvaal, Rebel Army is redeploying it's pre-pullout aircraft to Ecuador. These consist of a total of 15 squadrons, all of them piloted and staffed by Ecuadorians. We will not stand for Tahoe's hypocritical actions and gunboat diplomacy any longer. Botha
We will not stand for Tahoe's hypocritical actions and gunboat diplomacy any longer. Tahoe is not practising gunboat diplomacy. Unlike the colonial inhabitants of Ecuador, Tahoe actually asked us if they could build their base somewhere on our territory. Transvaal agreed and then we subsequently offered them a location. However, if Transvaal had said 'no', rest assured that Tahoe would have respected that decision and looked elsewhere for an overseas location. Do not think for one second that Tahoe practised gunboat diplomacy on Transvaal. They are there at Swakopmund because we said they could be, not the other way around. Rebel Army's weak attempts to make comparisons with their own colonial imperialism in South America is simply an attempt to distact foreign criticism of their occupation of Ecuador and blacken the honourable dealings between Tahoe and Tranvsaal. This base was the result of two sovereign nations making a mutually recognised decision - unlike the colonial occupation imposed on the Ecuadorian people. - Official Statement by Hendrik Strijdom, Foreign Minister of Transvaal

Botha
STARVATION IN THE NORTHERN CAPE While sporatic and isolated resistance continues by Boerstaat Kommandos in the Northern Cape, reports of widespread famine due to the conflict have now been reported. Although not officially confirmed by the government, rumours of as many as 3,830 citizens dying from starvation have been reported after the Kommandos destroyed crops throughout the region as form of a final, scorched earth retribution against the Government and its supporters. The Transvaler Krygsmagte announced that the rebellion should be crushed in the next day or so and special operation teams have been dispatched to hunt down and arrest the Kommando leaders.
