Land of True Israel
Technically an "alliance" is the relationship formed between two or more nations who consider each other as "allies", but that certainly don't mean that another more established AA has to 'recognize' it as such. This is a case where the technical definition differs from the definition set by the standards of a large portion of CN. Recognized or not, an AA won't go far without a means to stand on it's own, or without a protector to stand behind them.
Comrade Craig
A group of people that band together in a community that have the same ideals/goals that will fight together and stand up for one another against common enemies. I think this definition hits the nail on the head. An alliance is much more like a political party or social club -- it is a community of people working towards a common goal (or united around a central theme). Too often, people view membership an alliance as akin to citizenship in a nation, and behave accordingly. However, that is flawed view. Alliances are, by their very nature, completely voluntary in a way that citizenship is not. -Craig Edited December 22, 2009 by Comrade Craig
Chaoshawk
I know of two one man alliances. PPF and Rising of the Horde. The latter is protected by NADC if I recall.
