A life of a prisoner

When the prisoner train arrived in Darwin early in the morning, Valerie was immediately escorted from the prison complex in Darwin to a private car that would take her to Lillia Palace for her audience with the Queen. Everything had been arranged and the ride from the prison was met with little traffic as she arrived at the gates of the grandiose structure. Metal wire gates were opened into the courtyard and Valerie was taken out of the car by two Lillian Guards who held her gently, she still showed all the signs of weakness from her prison sentence. The Lillians handled her with care and respect as they brought her through the glided halls of the palace, so while they deemed her the cause of the Raven War, there was no reason to make this woman suffer anymore than she had already done. If the Queen was to have Valerie suffer more, then that was up to her, but there would be no senseless attacks done by the Lillians to her, that much was understood.

The great wooden doors of the throne room were opened with a mild creak to them, their utter weight holding down on the hinges. Down the great glimmering hall, the Queen sat on a large throne and looked up as the doors were opened. "Presenting Lady Valerie Klein, Your Highness." The Herald announced from the back of the hall before bowing towards the Queen and resuming his first position.

Valerie was released by the Lillians and walked towards the throne as Hannah stood up from her chair and looked down at the girl, a stern look emblazoned on her face. "So I have been told that you have requested an audience. Please, you have my attention."

Valerie had stopped suddenly for a moment as they mentioned her name as Lady Valerie Klein, not expecting such formality but she quickly recovered herself and continued to walk along the floor up to where Queen Hannah waited. As she came to a stop before her Valerie lowered herself to one knee before Queen Hannah her head resting downwards.

"So I have been told that you have requested an audience. Please, you have my attention."

"My Queen before I came here I was nothing but a young girl in both body and mind and who thought she could rule when and where she pleased. I constantly made poor decisions because I knew no better and only did what I wanted. That girl is gone your highness, I faced someone or more like something evil in one of your prisons and I have found a purpose higher than myself".

Valerie raised her head so that Hannah could look into ehr eyes and see for herself how serious Valerie was on this issue and so she could see if Valerie was lying just to get out of prison.

"I have been asked to help you your highness by the god Odin, I know you may not believe in him but he believes in you. You know that because of what I am and who I am that I have some military training and I simply ask of you to allow me to help you, use me as you need and if you feel so discard me when you are finished".

Hannah stared down at the girl genuflecting in front of her. Valerie had gone straight to the point of what she wanted to get across. That she was willing to serve the Queendom in any shape or form, all coming from this new belief system she had discovered mostly like while languishing in the prison cells of Alice Springs. But what of the world? What of the justice that they craved as well, Hannah had no love for Valerie, Sarah may have, but to Hannah this was just another girl that had been brought to her for her crimes against the state. However, there was the right evidence that the Grand Duke had given her, freeing her from all crimes. The question was, was that the right thing to do, on either end for that matter.

"You have been asked by a god to serve my Queendom?" Hannah said with narrowed eyes. "Valerie." She started walking down towards the girl. "Most people if you were to say something like that would either term you a madwoman or perhaps a gift to their people. However, you are not my people, and the Helzan is forever gone. At this point there is still discussion on if I should send you away to another country, who they too demand your trial in justice. For now I am not concerning myself with them. However, no, you will not be allowed to serve in the Queendom's military. You have children at home and a husband who given his loyalty to you, possibly, loyalty over myself and I will be discussing that with your husband in the future."

Walking back up to her throne Hannah returned to her seat and looked down at the kneeling girl. "You will be placed under house arrest for the rest of your life and if the buzzards do come knocking, possible extradition to their lands. Though that's another story at another time. You will not be allowed to leave the borders of the Queendom's mainland, you will be monitored by some operatives of the special forces to make sure you do not try anything suspicious and we'll go from there." Hannah nodded her head. "Be thankful because there are certain people within the country calling for your head, but I will grant you the right to live. But this is not a negotiable offer, whatsoever, so you will be taken back to Perth and live with the Duke as your husband and as a mother. Is that understood?"

Valerie listened quietly never once shifting her gaze or her body, just kneeling listening to Hannah. As Hannah finished all Valerie knew was that she had failed and she had to fight to keep that feeling appearing. Instead she had to accept what was happening and wait for a different moment to serve Odin. Accepting this moment was nothing but a minor set back Valerie smiled to Hannah and stood up.

"As you wish my Queen. I shall obey your wishes and whatever else you desire of me. I shall now remove mysel from your presence" said Valerie with no hint to how she truly felt. It had been a long shot after all coming here and trying to seek service but there would be better chances later in life. Valerie could sense it.

The woman known as Valerie left the throne room the same way she had came in, under guard but instead of returning to the prison she came from she was delievered to her and Westly's home in Perth. She knew she was probally being watched already but she didn't care instead heading straight for her two children and picked them both up with a happy smile on her face as she waited to see Westly again.

Davies, The Duke of Perth, or as he was known to family and friends, Westly, sat quietly at his desk, doing he best to govern the territory he'd been placed in charge of. He was actually doing a good job of distracting himself from his worry, but then it came time to go home, and he knew he couldn;t put it off any longer.

Sighing, he put away his things and walked outside into the cool evening air to drvie home.

----

The first indication that anything was different was the two Crimson Shield operatives doing their best to act inconspicuous. But he'd helped train many of them, so he spotted them without too much difficulty. Did that mean...?

He quickened his pace to step inside...and sighed with relief when he got there. 'It worked,' he thought, offering up a silent prayer of thanks.

OOC; I think that's pretyy much it for this thread, eh?
