Operation Gila

With the fall of New Mexico into lawlessness and anarchy, the Federal Government of the Tahoe Republic has decided to respond to many petitions by dozens of political, religious and social groups in that region and restore order to that area. Parliament authorized President O'Deaghaidh to order the military to secure New Mexico and sent him a bill admitting New Mexico as a Federal Territory. Prime Minister Kelly, a leading proponent behind the aquisition of New Mexico said the following in an interview early Thursday,

"It is my Government's opinion that the rampant lawlessness we have seen spring up in New Mexico in recent months has reached a stage where we can no longer ignore the plight of the people. An often lawless area, we have had hope that the past few governments in that Republic could restore order, although it is clear that warlords, drug dealers and anarchists are taking advantage of weak central governments in Santa Fe and carrying out criminal activity. That is why we voted to send the military in to restore order. As for the more controversial issue of admitting New Mexico as a territory without a functioning territorial government, that move simply allows us to legitimately set up a strong government ourselves without relying on the locals, who have proven completely inept at doing so themselves. We do not expect much resistance as intelligence shows most warlords and drug dealers are lightly armed with equipment stolen from former government armories. This is a long term investment into the future of the region."

The 10th Mountain, 11th California, 3rd Arizona and 18th Arizona Brigades (a note on Tahoan Brigades: they all consist of a number of infantry regiments and one armored regiments. Armored brigades are equipped soley with tanks) have moved into New Mexico. Full pacification should take no more than two weeks followed by up to six months of hunting down and eliminating gangs, drug dealers and guerrillas.

I do have a nation, it's just that it's tiny, and it's in Mudd's territory.

OOC: I'm sorry, but without his approval you don't.

There is more land out there, and it sucks to not have the land you want, but at this point, you can still come back and get a real nation for this continuity. If you keep this all up, you may loose your chance, and burn your last bridges with the nations in the Americas

OOC: His "leaders" have been arrested http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?s...60&start=60 Now he has no IC basis (not that he had one). If you would like land please request it in the map thread, otherwise stop posting.

OOC: You're kidding me... theres no way that post holds any merit at all... pure god mod.

OOC: its in his territory, he doesn't have Mudd's permission to be there. So where is the god mode?

Brb, I'm going to start RPing in EM's land without his permission.

OOC: Mudd never allowed him to RP in his lands - either as a sovereign or a phony nation. Thus Arthur's RP nation doesn't exist. C'est tout.

IC: "We commend our Tahoan friends for diligently working towards the continuous stability of North America.

OOC: It's a pure god-mod. One is not god, even in their own territory, we have our laws of physics and reality to consider. Srsly people why is it that the law of good RPing appears to often to be such that, the quality of one's RP tends to be inversely proportional to the square of said nations power. Maybe I'm being a bit harsh, I should at least complement Mudd for writing a good post and adding a picture with nice formatting, but the manner in which it was done was unnecessary.

McArthur22, go grab one of my islands around Greece and go play from there for now. It may be small but it will be a nation. (Add some good backstory). I realize it's not the good old US of A, but this is RPing and on a map with sparse space, we have rules... such as being able to make the culture and people that live on the island any form you please... So go grab one, preferably one that can be seen from SPACE, such as the largest one on the northwestern side of Greece. I'm not sure your stance as a nation on things, but that doesn't matter, it's better to have new players added to ranks. Besides which, the chairwoman needs someone to play with... Greece has been... rather boring lately.

IC: While the Greco-Soviet States would normally applaud the destruction of individuals and groups described as such by the nation of Tahoe, they were careful to say nothing as one man's freedom fighter is another man's terrorist. Treason and revolution were merely two sides of the same coin and given their recent strong statements about Proccintia, it could very well be that these capitalist pigs were seeking to enslave the working masses for their wallowing verocious appetite for wealth. But right now, there was no such evidence, nor even an official responce from the said nation, so they would leave let alone be and focus on matters closer to Europe... which was more then enough of a mess.

OOC: Zarfef, you have just insulted several of the better RPers in our time, including Mykep, Lavo, Botha, Tahoe, V the King and Brian Reimer, all people who controlled large amounts of land (or comparatively large), and you insulted them simply because you're butthurt. MacArthur22 took the land already knowing Mudd owned it, and continued to say that he had it even though Mudd owned it.

As MacArthur22's nation never existed, Mudd has every right to do whatever it is within his own territory. The "laws of physics and reality" were not violated. Your whining is unnecessary.

IC: Carthage applauds the restabilization of Mexico.

OOC: Seeing as how the land never existed as sovereign in the first place, as far as IC things go, they were rebels and arrested by the government, exactly as Mudd said is what happened. If the nation does not exist in our IC because the land was never granted OOC nor IC, then the nation does not bloody exist. If I go and declare the independence of the Peloponnesian Peninsula, does it make it a nation automatically because I declared it? No, not by the laws of CNRP. There was no illegal move made. If Mudd does not want this man to RP on his land, then that is Mudd's decision alone, assuming that the man is associated with CNRP. If he is not, then who gives a damn, let him do what he wants.

IC: Perhaps Greece should realize that not all Capitalists are 'pigs', and that some do mean well, and that the transition to Socialism takes a period of time that is different for every nation. Be tolerant, and mind the economic policies of your own nation; do not insult others'.

OOC: I never made any specific declarations whatsoever, those were made by you. I very specifically added an "appears too often" to make sure no one concluded "is always", anything else would be something you implied not me. I will neither make a list of inclusive good RPers nor a list that excludes them, I simply am noting a phenomena that in my opinion, "appears too often". How much "too often" means, is a question in and of itself and perhaps to have happened once is too often. But to take it in the manner you have is wrong I'm happy to report.

OOC: How many nations are specifically both large and have poor RP by your standards? Imperator Azenquor and the United Francoist Empire, two of the largest countries, were also very well-done and thorough RPs. As far as anyone but you should be concerned, your "law of RPing" has been made up on the spot by you to vent your frustration at people with more land than you.

OOC: The phrase 'too often' usually connotes a large number of occurrences, not one out of however many RP'ers we have. If we have one poor RP'er of high Nation Strength, and one good RP'er of low nation strength, could this not be a simple phenomenon? And because it would be rationally considered to be an arbitrary happening by most people, when you say that it happens 'too often', it means that it happens more than once, in fact it happens quite often, in your opinion. Your statement, whether you attempt to justify it by saying that 'oh, well I didn't mean the 10 strongest nations in RP!' or not, insults our higher-level RP'ers, like Lavo, who is one of the most respected men in this forum. On the other hand, we have many, many, many people with low nation strength that make one line RP's. It is hardly a trend, rather it is a phenomenon and a rare occurrence.

Out of curiosity, am I someone you consider a bad roleplayer?

OOC: There were no 'private' nor 'classified' tags on that post, and you spoke in a way that was for your state, which means to every person in existence that you are making a statement for your nation. What national leader thinks in a third-person formal fashion for his nation?
